Removed from RCG

Recommended Posts

I'm guessing this is one of those "truth is somewhere in the middle" situations

The passengers, both unvaccinated, said that during the boarding process in Miami on July 5 the company mistakenly gave them purple bracelets meant for vaccinated passengers that serve as entry passes to areas of the Freedom of the Seas ship where only the inoculated are allowed. They said that when the company realized its mistake on July 7, staff members made them take COVID-19 tests. One of those tests came back positive.

This story has been splash all across my feed and sent to me because I have a cruise coming up.

So this lady was removed from a RCG because she tested positive. Apparently when she boarded with her vax travel companion, they also gave her a vax band even though she wasn't vax. They tested her and she came out positive, so they removed her and the travel companion.

I just posted this in the news and rumor section. However, I read in an article on Google that her traveling companion was vax and she wasn't, that's how the crew member got mixed up. I have no sympathy for them as she claims she asked multiple times if unvax got bracelets. I mean it was spelled out on everything she did and read way before check-in. She got exactly what she deserves and I hope she get banned.

She tested positive.  End of story.

The mix up that resulted in her getting a bracelet did not cause her to become infected.

She knows her vaccination status.  She chose to play like she was vaccinated using the bracelet to go into areas she knows she didn't belong.  The signs don't say "purple bracelets only", the signs read "Vaccinated Guest Area".  She knew she was breaking the rules.

Got a free ride home in a private jet.  Hard to complain about that.

Mixups are going to happen.  No system will ever be perfect.

She needs to take accountability for her actions rather than trying to cast shade on the cruise industry.

She also made the claim that Royal was out to get her and falsified the test to make it positive.

Why would they do that?  That's the very last outcome they want and they don't need a COVID test result to remove someone from a cruise.  She had already violated the guest conduct policy at that point.  That's all they need to remove her.

This!!! Like being dressed in a space suit and following someone and washing everything they touch is anyones idea of a good time.

As a healthcare provider when they tell me the pt is positive and I have to dress in full PPE I assure you there is a lot of colorful language that comes with it!

I'm not going to watch that video based on her picture in the You Tube link.  It reminds me of every customer who had to tell us why they wouldn't wear a mask while grocery shopping during the pandemic.  ?

I saw the videos a couple days ago.  It's a 4 part series on TikTok along with some pretty colorful other TikTok's from her.

I didn't post about them because it was pretty clear very early on there was little reason to take them seriously.  Nut job.

So in summary... unvaccinated person tries to pretend they are vaccinated.  What could go wrong?

This adds an interesting twist to NCL suing the state of Florida for disallowing cruise lines to ask for vaccine passports.

I watched bits and pieces of this episode and it made me wonder what  exactly would she have wanted to happen? To let her just go back on the ship and pretend that she didn’t test positive?

I think Royal Caribbean did the responsible thing. Maybe it did get a little fumbled along the way (if what the person reported was indeed true) but at the end of day, this person did test positive and RC had no other choice but to discharge her from the ship (and as far as I can tell from the video, the crew did so with politeness and respect).

Call me crazy but if I tested positive for Covid, my first thought would be of the health and safety of me, my family, and my friends and not “Royal Caribbean is out to get me!! Let me turn on Facebook live”

Let us all take some solace that, thanks to this incident, we will most likely never have to encounter this woman on our own RCI cruises!

??? I agree with her though, they falsified her test because they are TOTALLY looking for that kind of publicity! ???

Kudos to RC for implementing such a thorough evacuation protocol, from sealing her luggage to isolating the exit areas. The staff was totally professional throughout. I am impressed. Just WOW!!!

Just watched the video. Royal did a hell of a job protecting the other guests. I am not impressed by her reactions. She got a free cruise for being dishonest.  My thought is that if she actually made a mistake, she would have been a little more apologetic.

IMO she should have insisted on having her seapass card punched as she knew she was unvaccinated, and not taken the purple bracelet. But no, she was wanting to try and get away with being a "vaccinated" passenger when she knew she was not.

And yes, a free private jet ride home? Great way to get home.
