I wonder how it would work with a comped cruise from their casino in terms of FCC?  Any insight @WAAAYTOOO

Yea I'm trying to find out about this too. I have a JS booked in April, probably the last comped JS I will get based on my play. Hate to lose it since it's the sailing that will help me reach Diamond finally. It'll be great if I can just change it to the same sailing in like September or October (the price is similar)

Have two weeks to go. Wife had one of her friends call and state that her husband changed his mind today as they were about to board and walked away from the pier. Do not think they will get anything for not going but he did not care. At least we have a time frame to be able to make a change. If we do not go it will be a shame. Royal upgraded us without asking from an Ocean View to a Spacious Balcony. The ship went from totally sold out to everything open. Am hoping we go with fewer folks so I can finally get a lounger by the pool.

We are cruising April 19 from san juan. We are still going. Too bad it's a travel credit but not complete refund. Anyway I am not worried about puerto rico and southern carribean now. Hopefully they will upgrade me now to balcony from Oceanview since I expect many will cancel

This policy began today, my wife and I are scheduled to go on a cruise tomorrow.  So we are in the 48 hour window that doesn't allow us to cancel (she's been put on hold for hours with Royal Caribbean)  especially concerning when she is already sick (along with being a senior, diabetic, and has asthma!) They are telling her to go to the cruise terminal whether she's sick or not (maybe infect everyone else) and have the cruise people examine her.  And we didn't want a refund, we just wanted a credit for a future cruise!!   Maybe Twitter this will get their attention.  How can these cruise terminals be safe if this is their policy???

this is happening to us right now 12:30 pm on Friday, March 6th....

Talk about overreacting to something that is nothing to worry about...this coronavirus wont change peoples vacation plans, its overblown, more ppl die from the flu..blah blah blah.......nothing to see here folks..:34_rolling_eyes:

Yeah right.....if it WASNT a big deal or concern do you think Royal would be doing this......not a chance in hell.

I stick with what I said awhile ago and many here belittled my argument..this is a MUCH bigger deal than the flu and will have a huge impact on the cruise industry..both in the short term and I am guessing for the foreseeable future.

And no, people losing vacation plans, companies losing money and ppl dying are NOT things we should be taking lightly, joking about and criticising those who took it more serious from the beginning....imho

I would argue that they are doing this for public relations reasons.  If they thought it was a major concern they would just cancel the sailings like they did in China but they are not. Now it could reach that point but we are not there yet.

So I called Club Royale and canceled my comped 4 nighter on the Enchantment on April. Will be refunded tax+port fees + $886 FCC, kinda low since the room is a JS. But they did say we can apply the FCC with future comps to pay for price difference in upgrades. Also I wonder since the comps are being refunded as FCC, whats there to stop people from just randomly booking every offer they got until July (even if they have no intention of going) and then cancelling on purpose just to rack up on the FCC.

Seems like a nice thing to do considering the state of affairs.

This is fantastic.  We are supposed to cruise on May 10 in a 2 bedroom ATS with 5 adults.  My husband is 62 with serious lung issues and diabetes - we were waiting to see how things evolve before making our go/ no go decision.   This has taken all the worry away for the next 6 weeks!  Thank you RCCL!

Thanks for this information.  Pretty nice solution, really.  Nice to hear that they will allow the FCC to be combined with other casino discounts/comps.

Geeze, it sounds like Royal does know their own brand new policy!  How are you making out?  Please let us know.  Thanks.

This is really good of Royal Caribbean. It must be really tough for them as it is for lots of businesses but this is a sign of a company with great values.  We have a May trip from Italy booked and its really nice to have the option if we need it. It reduces the worry helps to plan and as we are taking kids while I'm not personally to worried I but dont really want to put them in a bad situation.  Im more than happy for them to hold the cash in the meantime as we will totally be back if we don't go this time around.  Now just need Emirates to come to the party.

Not amazed or surprised but maybe an astute move by RC, in all likelihood lots more sailings will be cancelled and rather than full refunds they have managed to keep your money in their account.

Agree just good publicity  and on the surface it appears a good thing to offer, but the greatest beneficiary is themselves.

Does anyone know if the FCC can be applied to one of my upcoming already booked cruises? I have 2 more in addition to my May cruise and can’t add another one due to vacation time constraints.

Not really as you can hold out till 2 days to go without saying anything.  Most cruises if they will be cancelled will be much earlier so best of both worlds.

So, if someone with a non-refundable deposit cancels after final payment, do they get the deposit back as part of the FCC? I know they do if they're outside of final payment, but RCCL didn't seem to address the situation after final payment (like cruises coming up in May, etc.). I know that normally, the deposit wouldn't be refunded under any circumstance inside of 90 days.

I'm pondering doing this both to ease other people's minds and to take a new, later cruise that's slightly longer with an expanded itinerary.

We have a sailing coming up in May. I was on hold for 3 hours before I got to somebody to help. I was hoping to cancel and rebook the same at the new lower rate. They wouldn't let me do it. They said I could cancel and wait a week to get the cert and then rebook. To answer your question though,  the cert would have been for the full amount.
