Star inaugural prices. You better sit down

Absolutely no desire right now due to the ridiculous pricing and since these are the identical itineraries we recently sailed on Wonder or will be sailing next May on Icon.

This will give us a chance to book some of the many ships we have not had the pleasure of sailing on to date including Symphony, Harmony, Ovation, Anthem, Mariner, on and on!  😎

It's now up on the website to book..slightly cheaper than current Icon prices on the Australian site.

Australian prices usually have gratuities included in the price but for Star bookings it is asking to add.. not sure if this is a website error or the sign of things to come! Icon it is already included.

I’m noticing on the dates on the website none of them are during the summer or spring break when the kids are out. Is it possible more dates would be released? Or maybe I’m missing it somehow. I mean…I’m not opposed to a mommy/daddy week away lol.

I see dates from August 2025-April 2026 released on their website.

This batch of releases that started last month and is spread out for a few more months for all ships/itineraries ends in April 2026... so you're seeing the Star inaugural (August) until the end of this release window. You shouldn't expect any other dates.

Spring Break 2026 is covered though.

Like @Lovetocruise2002 said, after the Icon prices, I'm not surprised one bit by Star's prices.

What's interesting is how the Icon prices fell since going on sale.

You can get on the Icon inaugural now for ~$3800 for 2 in an inside cabin. It wasn't too long ago that was about double. With a new ship, it seems a lot of people book just to book it, but end up cancelling before final payment.

I'm not saying Star's prices will also fall later, but it's worth noting the trend with Icon.

That is true, prices have fallen a bit on Icon inaugural since final payment. However, it has never fallen back to first release pricing. Which means that was still the "best price". Which is scary for Star if it follows that trend. That last night's prices are the "best price". I will sit on my hold for a week and contemplate....

Not knowing anything about how travel agencies do business with the cruise lines, Is it possible that these prices are offered to general public at a high price, but travel agencies are offered lower prices to fill out their group blocks?  Or did travel agencies already get the 'pick of litter' and this is what's left?

I'm very surprised...

Paid half the price on Icon...

This is just pure insanity

NOT inaguaral, but just priced a week in April

$4500 for smallest inside cabin...

And how about $4500 for the smallest, tiniest inside cabin?

Let the "I have to sail on the newest ships" and "the ship is the destination" crowds have them. I'll go on multiple trips in bigger staterooms on older ships for the same money (or less).

These prices are insane and weird. Prices are that way because of demand. Also the long-time cruisers on this board say they won't pay these prices, but someone is definitely paying them. I don't think it's all new cruisers.

Unless Icon class becomes a casino comp, I will be pinnacle before I sail on this class🤣🙀☠️.

Fares of late have answered the question why Royal started offering the 'layaway ' plan like Carnival.  They knew which way the revenue management wind was blowing.

To each their own, but if Mrs Geezer and I can't book and pay on plastic in 2 swipes (deposit and balance), we'll pass.  And CC reward points= $$ deposit quarterly for us.

$105,177.58 for the Family Townhouse?

Sorry, but that’s $177.58 more than I would have spent for it.

I’m genuinely curious about someone who could afford this price but would still choose a royal Caribbean cruise - book your own yacht! That said, I am insanely jealous of the people booking this. 😂

It is the "YOLO" Gen Z and younger Millennials. They aren't big on saving, so they see value in experiences. They will max out cards and savings to pay for things like this.
