It is fun to think back -

2 Mimosas to start the day, coffee, water

then on to at least 2 drinks of the day by pool, more water, I usually get a water with each drink

2 wines at dinner

4 -5 drinks in evening down at the casino, love the casino bar and staff!!

but be sure and get pizza before it closes

Didn't buy the drink package on my first cruise.  Honestly I am not a big drinker to begin with and with the things that were happening in my life at that point I don't think it was a great idea.  I did carry my insulated drink container and the staff had no issue filling it up for me at meals.  Hopefully even with the new protocols they can do that for me on the next one.

I love drinking.  Our first two cruises we were sans DBP; the last two with.

I looooove the fresh squeezed OJ and try to have it every morning.  The Solarium being my spot,

I go there as much as I can, but I don't think they have the FSOJ, although I'm sure they'd go get me some if I asked.

I start drinking around 11:30-12, and until the evening I don't care what I have.  Of course, being ancient, I always

forget the drinks that I hear everyone talk about (especially shots).  But I don't care, just bring it on.

I generally don't drink anything during dinner.    After dinner, it's pretty much straight, neat liquors.  I love trying

high-end bevs, especially bourbons.  I'm hoping Harmony will have Blanton's when we sail in Feb (yes, we will, dammit!).

Oddly, I have never stepped foot in the wine bars in 4 cruises.  I like German whites, but don't know a bloody thing

about wine, so I'm a little intimidated by going in there.  Wife doesn't like wine at all, so it will be just me.

I'm disappointed that it appears that we won't be allowed to venture into the ports, as I love going into downtown

Charlotte-Amalie and buying lots of rum.  BTW, if you like a good, smooth rum, try Havensight when you're in St. Thomas.

With the DBP, I never drink beer while onboard (mostly because their craft menu is awful), but I'm hopeful that, when we

get to Coco Cay, they will still have the collaboration with Funky Buddha, which is a great brewery.

Lord, I hope I can remember to drink more water next time.

Typical day for me:

8-10 bottles of water (or equivalent amount of Vitamin Water from Freestyle machines)

2-3 soda package cups filled with Powerade Zero

2-3 soda package cups filled with diet soda of some sort

5-6 glasses of iced tea at lunch/dinner (it's not great iced tea, but it meets the need)

1-2 cups of coffee (might be more if the coffee on a particular trip is unusually good)

1-2 glasses of juice at breakfast

A glass of scotch in either the Suite Lounge or Diamond Lounge

A couple glasses of wine with dinner

Whatever freebies or near freebies are offered at a liquor tasting, art auction, or Mimosa special in the casino on a sea day

Sounds like you know the ins  and outs of every bathroom on board. 🤣

Hmmm...it really depends on what I have planned for the day. If I want to do the "active" stuff like Sky Pad, Flow Rider, Zip Line, etc (I may be a grandma, but age is just a number!), then I don't have my first beverage until I'm done with those things (an injury would definitely put a damper on the vacation!). Typically, something like this:
8:00...escape the snoring log of a husband and stumble down to the Cafe Promenade for a specialty hot tea (life is tough for those of us who don't drink coffee). Get a bottle of water or 2 for good measure
8:30...first breakfast...maybe with a mimosa and another bottle of water
9:00...morning run (gotta burn off all the dessert and drinks!) followed by another bottle of water
10:00...second breakfast when my husband finally emerges. Definitely a mimosa here
The rest of the day depends on what I'm doing...if we're hitting up the trivia (don't challenge me at 80s music trivia...I'll win), then it's time to start looking at the specialty drink menus in whatever venue we're in. Fallback drink is a Dark & Stormy. On Mariner, we loved to camp out in the Bamboo Room and try the different rums!
12:30~ish...time for lunch and more water
After lunch...pool deck and whatever tiki drinks the very sweet cabana boy will bring me. Along with water. All the water
We do late seating dinner, and I usually have a glass or 2 of wine with that.
After dinner...time to hit whatever entertainment and a nightcap.

One has to wonder how gathering to drink any of the aforementioned drinks will work I the nes normal. I would not expect to see huge maskless swathes of guests sipping things in large congregate settings. The new normal is here and it will change the way how such rinks are to be drunk and when.

Thanks for ruining my good drunk.  🤬

With the drink package-which I'll get when I'm with multiple friends/family
Specialty coffee with baileys at breakfast
bloody mary-discoverd this last cruise
Poolside-I love a Mudslide or a frozen strawberry daiquiri  or the drink of the day
dinner-whatever- on my last cruise  it was Tequila Sunrise or a Cosmo
after dinner decaf coffee with baileys
night out-chocolate martini or other fun drink (aren't  they all fun though?)
shots-if I am with those wicked friends who make us drink them (YES, they MAKE US(
If I go to late night pizza, beer with pizza!  must do!

Without drink package (only a couple of those cruises)-this was trip with daughter or one friend
no alcohol for breakfast
the drink special at the casino was mimosas so I bellied up to the bar for my order
I could order as many at a time as I wanted.-they even did doubles for me.  It was funny to see those with a drink package trying to get more than one...it's not allowed.  Can't drink package people get a mimosa, finish it and get another?
one or 2 drinks poolside
maybe one at dinner and another 1 or 1 after dinner.

Ditto...I'm the same where with the drink package I'll have more than without (at least, the one and only time we got it).  Without it, like you no spiked coffee, and overall, will just get a drink with dinner and sometimes an after dinner and mid day drink.

It's funny too as I am not a martini fan...BUT...tried one of those chocolate martini's last time and so yummy.

One wonders how pool side drinks will work or if they will even be a thing with the restart. I'm sure many of us will be glad to enjoy drinks not in a group once the industry resumes. Martinis are cheaper on land and in port. Personal choice of course but generally ship board drinks and anything on board ships are marked up. It's a vacation sure but one ought to vacation wisely and determine if it's a need or want. After all a drink is really a drink so simplicity is all that matters. Water is free and good. So is tea and coffee. And with any kind of start up I am thinking it may be best to start with free options for now. Just being down to earth of course and my personal thoughts.

You are aware that this is “fun post” right?

Hitting this thread late, but I'm gonna hit it hard...like a cruise. Food and beverage are huge parts of my vacation, so I generally won't cruise without a drink package since we try to get cruises that are a good mix of ports and sea days.

I like to wake up in the morning, grab a coffee, and go up top to enjoy the fresh air. That's port days or sea days.

Port days - depending on what we're doing, may or may not have drinks during the day. Sea days - usually wait until after lunch and then start hitting it. Nothing crazy - maybe a few drinks before dinner if I am sitting by the pool.

Drink or two with dinner. Couple of drinks after dinner, either at a bar or (ideally) back on my balcony. Or up top watching a movie on the big screen.

My drinks are usually either wine or something like a martini/G&T. I'll do a sweet drink here or there like a pina colada or tropical old fashioned, but not too often because it just gets too sweet. Never really do beer because the choices are always horrible, and it gets too filling - only time I have used my drink package on a beer is when I sprained my thumb getting in to the pool and used a Coors Light metal bottle as an ice pack (and, well, might as well drink your ice pack!)

I almost always get a bottle of water with each drink, because hydration is key...glass of water for every drink = no hangover, and if nothing else, we stock some bottles for port excursions.

We do first and second breakfast too! First breakfast is coffee, juice and bagels delivered to cabin. We spike the juice with champagne.

Second breakfast is either at Johnny Rockets or MDR. We like a cooked to order. Mimosa there too!
