We have 100 night booked in 2021, all in suites.  Not sure how the “C&A discount” clause is going to affect them.  We rarely use the C&A discount anyway.  Some random promo discount usually pu

Suites get 4 points now?!!!!!  Instead of 3? Best news ever if that is true!  Now we need sailings to start!

If it applies to all sailings in 2021 then it will make up for the four we have had to cancel already this year. It would be a nice perk even though it was not their fault for not sailing. It would be even better if they awarded triple points for those of us who still have a cruise set up for late this year and are still holding out to see if we can go. It is a short one to CoCo Cay at near the end of the year so maybe we might get to go.🤞

We have a 2 bedroom grand suite on Quantum and a crown loft on Oasis in 2021. Wonder if those will be quadruple points!?!?!?!?! Come on intern, do your thing!!

That was my very first thought!!  Do people who normally get double points for suites, get quad points?? I sure hope so!

Yes, I sure hope for quadruple points. Have a Junior Suite booked next year for a 10 day sailing. Would really give a boost if we get 40 CAS-points for that. And maybe I put my wife in a cheep Inside Cabin and stay alone to get the solo points also, (10 + 10 + 10) x 2 = 60 points for one sailing! 😃

Hopefully @Matt will have some info on this soon.

We have a refundable and just got a price drop.  So in theory, we could cancel and then rebook for the same price....but then we would lose our drink package and excursion and no guarantee that the cruise planner items will come back down.  The items seem to go up and down so maybe if they yo-yo back down again, but even then its a pain to cancel and rebook.

Are cancellations instant?  We would want to get the same stateroom back as we booked a specific aft room.

PER ROYAL CARIBBEAN:

This is for All C&S levels:

- Two in a Cabin - each get one extra point (if it's a Suite and above, on extra point for a total of 3 points per person)

- Single travelers ONLY will get two points if you are Diamond and below

This applies ONLY to Diamond PLUS and Pinnacle for Single Travelers:

- Single travelers get two points PLUS an additional point (if you are in a Suite and above, on extra point for a total of 4 points per person)

Wow, this could lead to some serious inflation of the number of Diamond and up cruisers.  I'd be concerned about perks getting scaled back a year later!

The flip side...  it's likely these guests would have gotten there naturally based on sailings cancelled in 2020.  If someone is that close to leveling up that this promo puts them over, chances are they had a sailing on 2020 cancelled and the 2021 sailing would have pushed them across the threshold had there never been a pandemic.

There are a small group of point maximizers who will net some benefit from this.  Florida frequent sailers mostly, but probably they'll use it to reach Diamond Plus or maybe Pinnacle in 2021 rather than 2022.

I see this as a means to get most guests to where they would have been if 2020 hadn't been wiped out.

Serious question, how many perks do people really use now that are tied with each tier?  It seems way back when when we were gold status that we received a coupon book with lots of good freebies but in recent years and at a higher status we rarely see any perks we can use.  Just wonder if this is really a selling point or if it more of a strictly personal status?

A lot of people want the Diamond status because it gets them access to the Diamond Lounge and Diamond Happy Hour.  After another next big perk comes at the 350 point mark (I think) is where the solo supplement is only 50%, so if you're sailing by yourself you don't have to pay double.  That could be a pretty significant per sailing cost.   Those two perks to me ones that are worth the intentional climb.

Besides what @AshleyDillo mentioned, there's also a good Diamond perk for onboard internet purchase that @twangster covered a while back; basically, wait until day 2 for your VOOM purchase (easy when you're in port and have cell service most of the day), and the prorated price for Diamond level becomes lower than the best price you can find on the Cruise Planner.

IIRC, there's also Diamond-level onboard pricing on the DBP that makes it better than anything on the CP. Pretty sure @twangster has also written about taking advantage of that on his more-recent (not totally fake and unrealistic 😉) live blogs.

Yeah I'm trying to figure all of this out now. If it's a cancel/rebook probably not worth it!

Sorry @Sharla I saw the announcement and sent you an email straight away. I will watch for your post. No need to get back. Fantastic for us but TA partners still should be afforded a comped sailing for all their hard work. Funny Im typing this and Sharla just responded to my email. Truly amazing, She is wonderful!!
