Matt Posted November 27, 2020 Report Posted November 27, 2020 What is the best price on a cruise or cruise planner item you've found so far with the Black Friday deals? Do you think this year's deals are better than past years? Same? Worse? Quote
USFFrank Posted November 27, 2020 Report Posted November 27, 2020 (edited) For my Harmony of the Seas cruise next November, the refreshment package is $18.00. That's the cheapest I've ever paid for that particular beverage package going back several cruises and I'm surprised it's this low nowadays. However I'm gonna wait till the last day of this sale before buying in the hopes of getting my 125% cruise planner credit from a cancelled cruise I was supposed to be on next month. If it doesn't show up I'll have to buy it on my own. Update 11/28: I pulled the trigger and got it today. Murphy's law, if I waited the price will go up tomorrow as part of the cyber Monday sale, now that I bought it, it won't, or it will go down lower . If I waited till Tuesday (last day of the sale as of this writing) I still won't have my 125% cruise planner credit and I'll have to get it with my own money, now that I bought it, the cruise planner credit will now show up by Tuesday . I know if the price ever goes down this low again and I indeed have the cruse planner credit I can cancel and re-book it with the credit. Edited November 29, 2020 by USFFrank Update Quote
GregD Posted November 27, 2020 Report Posted November 27, 2020 In my limited experience, I feel that the black Friday prices this year are the same as the "normal sale" prices that you usually find. I distinctly remember last year some really good prices that I am not seeing this year (at least for the cruises I have booked). Baked Alaska 1 Quote
bretts173 Posted November 27, 2020 Report Posted November 27, 2020 Deluxe plus Zoom is cheaper than Deluxe by itself on one cruise because they are adding gratuities to deluxe but not zoom/deluxe. IRMO12HD 1 Quote
Jill Posted November 27, 2020 Report Posted November 27, 2020 I didn’t score many bargains at all with cruise planner stuff. Nothing on my May symphony was cheaper. Saved a total of $112 on 6 excursions for our odyssey med cruise. Drink packages/dining didn’t budge. I’m sure @Sharlawill be checking my fares. Maybe I’ll get a little surprise there. CJS2766 Posted November 27, 2020 Report Posted November 27, 2020 I hope this is a good deal, I got the Coco Cay Beach Club for $75 per person. From the moment I did my L&S to Oct 2021, the price had been $150 pp (crazy!!!) I'm not sure if I'll see it less than $75, so I jumped on it. I figure if it does go lower, I can always re-purchase. Neesa Posted November 27, 2020 Report Posted November 27, 2020 @Jill I know we are on the same sailing in May 2021, @Sharla checked our exact sailing around 1,800.00 MORE & did I mention during this Black Friday sale? I think we purchased so early on that we won't see a discounted rate here. You're correct she did check, she was able to save me over $2000 on my Allure 2021 August but the May well a big fat goose egg! But as you mentioned she is always on it! Jill and Baked Alaska 2 Quote
Dad2Cue Posted November 27, 2020 Report Posted November 27, 2020 I was very reluctant to spend money on cruise planner purchases but I couldn't resist: Coco Beach Club --- $53.99 PP Helium Balloon Ride ---$36.99 PP (not sure if that is good or not) On our Alaska cruise in August 2021 --- please God, let this one happen ... it's our anniversary and we have a Grand Suite on Quantum! All Access Ship Tour --- $79.99 PP (I couldn't get the same time for 2 people who would like to do the tour together --- I bought two separate times on the same day... can this be changed?) Refreshment Package ---$18 per day for the wife ... she likes the better coffee and bottled water ... I use the soda glass! We like wine, an occasional beer etc, but that is an amenity with the Grand Suite during happy hour.... right??? acesandeights 1 Quote
WannaCruise Posted November 27, 2020 Report Posted November 27, 2020 I'd have to go with the CoCo Cay waterpark. We've had 5 cruises in the past/upcoming that are going there, plus hopefully next December and have gotten to CoCo Cay 0 times....but I can compare with many prices. We bought our first waterpark ticket before CoCo Cay even opened and they were selling half day tickets at $79 CAD....so almost wouldn't count that. Navigator was at $58 CAD, but also very early on and never saw that price again. Typically it sells for $105 CAD if you can catch it, but it also goes up to $144 CAD (wouldn't ever buy it at that price). Just bought it again for the 6th time for our Dec cruise for $71.81 CAD. So in comparison, that's pretty good. (We go at peak school-out times so our times are more expensive). Hopefully 6th time's the charm. DDP as well is $61.18 CAD (or $47 USD) on a few of my cruises so that's not too bad compared to normal....bought those. One cruise is at $57 CAD (which is close to the $43 people report) but it's too far out to book and we're not sure about that cruise so didn't purchase it. All our cruises as well have the cheap refreshment (which converts to $18 USD) and soda (which converts to $6.65 USD) Quote
KevinJ Posted November 27, 2020 Report Posted November 27, 2020 I'd really like to grab some deals for my October cruise, but I've got a bunch of stuff plus OBC tied up in my January cruise that I figure will get cancelled, so I need to wait for that to become available. Hopefully I'll get similar sails early next year, got COCO beach club for 63 in Jan. Quote

Do you think this year's deals are better than past years? Same? Worse? So far this Black Friday has been a bit of a dud for me. The All Access Tour went from $130 to $90, so that was great, but no savings to be found anywhere else. That said, I had already repurchased most of my items back during the past CP sale (I can't recall if that was last month or September) and found some really terrific deals then. So while this year's deals seem to be inferior to last year's, there was no huge sale prior to Black Friday that I could take advantage of last year either, so it's not exactly an apples to apples comparison. Do you think this year's deals are better than past years? Same? Worse? Oasis of the Seas September 19th, 2021 The cruise price for same cabin is a few hundred more than when we upgraded. Deluxe Drink Package: Same as previous sale at $46 (still an excellent price) 75 minute Swedish massage I saved $23.60 (was $175.82 now $152.22 after gratuity) Coco Beach Club Cabana $799, over the water $1199 - not sure previously but for the same cruise this year it was considerably more. It is not marked as a Black Friday deal but does indicate I have 9 hours left to pull the trigger. Other cabanas look like great prices too $499 water park & $599 Chill Island. Coco Beach Club access $53.99, again forget exactly but over $100. Water Park is $33.99, again no idea previously but recall it being WOW even Six Flags isn't that much! None of these are marked under the "Black Friday Deals" button, those sales don't seem to be anything special, in fact the prices look the same to me on those items. WAAAYTOOO and Ogilthorpe 2 Quote
WAAAYTOOO Posted November 28, 2020 Report Posted November 28, 2020 There is a new Black Friday Casino offer, out yesterday. As part of that offer, for the first time ever, Club Royale is offering double rewards points for casino play time. Not to be confused with Crown & Anchor points, casino rewards points are awarded for casino play and is based on the amount of time you play, the amount of your wagers and the individual games (or slots) that you play. Award points can result in "free" casino cruises, cumulative points towards qualifying for the following year's casino status and discounts on future cruises. We booked an additional Mariner sailing to go along with the other 2 we have, giving us a B3B on Mariner in Sept. 2021. Fingers crossed that they will allow a B3B by then and that they will allow >7 nights on board. USCG Teacher, WannaCruise, acesandeights and 1 other 4 Quote

Ampurp85 Posted November 29, 2020 Report Posted November 29, 2020 Hmmm I was looking forward to getting some discounts on excursion for my Oct Allure 21'...sales seem to be invisible. The DBP+voom is at a decent price but added people to my suite who don't drink, so it doesn't work out. Voom has great deals but again I have a suite, so moot point. I definitely think last year was better. I found amazing deals...unfortunately I never got to use them. Quote
SpeedNoodles Posted November 29, 2020 Report Posted November 29, 2020 I had an over-the-water cabana booked on Nellie's Beach (Labadee) for my October 2021 Allure sailing at $389. I noticed tonight that it'd dropped down to $324, so I canceled/rebooked it! I will be surprising Mr. SpeedNoodles with this one. I also got Coco Beach Club on Coco Cay for $88 (previously over $170). WAAAYTOOO and sk8erguy1978 1 1 Quote
parkyy2k Posted November 29, 2020 Report Posted November 29, 2020 I just checked to see if the cruise I booked a few weeks ago was any cheaper with the black Friday sale, nope £700 more expensive!! madness. Quote
Bakerette Posted November 29, 2020 Report Posted November 29, 2020 For my Allure November 2021 sailing I purchased The Key for 21.99 pp/pd and the classic soda package for $6.49 pp/pd & the 3 night dining package for $99 pp/pd. For my Mariner December 2021 sailing I also purchased the classic soda package for $6.49 pp/pd. the classic soda package has not been that low since my 3rd cruise which was in 2015. If I did not purchase the soda packages for both cruises durning the thanksgiving/black Friday/ cyber Monday sales then I would have had to pay $8.99 pp/pd & I would have purchased the key @ 32.99 pp/pd. ChessE4 Posted November 29, 2020 Report Posted November 29, 2020 We saved 25% off the online brochure price of an excursion. Only a few excursions were discounted, though. Most were still at the original price I'd been tracking for months. Quote
June May Posted November 29, 2020 Report Posted November 29, 2020 My cruise isn't til March 2022, but I checked the cruise planner for sales and wow! Deluxe drinks had been $107AUD, and had dropped to $66AUD. Grabbed that, then realised they had Deluxe + Voom for $77AUD. Quick cancel and re-book, and I've saved myself almost $300 on what I was prepared to pay for both together. I call that a win! Plus, there's another Black Friday sale before I cruise - who knows? It may dip even lower? PRebecca, WAAAYTOOO and Ogilthorpe 2 1 Quote

MKMAJ1 Posted November 29, 2020 Report Posted November 29, 2020 No difference in Cyber Monday specials for my cruise. Snagged a $43 beverage package but Coco Beach Club was more expensive so I'll wait for that one. Moved the cruise to 2022 so no rush. Quote
JimnKathy Posted November 29, 2020 Report Posted November 29, 2020 We scored a $49 price ($10 better than the previous sale price from several months ago) on the Coco Beach Club experience for the first half of our B2B Symphony sailing out 9/18. Interestingly enough, the price of 2nd leg Beach Club only went down to $89 (we had already picked up a good deal a few months prior at $79) after it had been priced at $169 for a good while. Other than saving $4 each on a wine/cheese package and a champagne/strawberries package, we didn't find any additional discounts applicable to our B2B. MKMAJ1 1 Quote
