The biggest notable is that RC listened to suggestions on this board and has done away with the concept of vax-only areas. Adventure Ocean reservations are now advertised, though Matt's article isn't overly clear if reservations are only suggested for port days. They only mentioned port days. The email also completely omitted pre-cruise testing. In both cases, I wasn't going to draw any conclusions quite yet. TMatl
1 hour ago, smokeybandit said: Nice, no bracelets. The bracelets were the dumbest thing. RC required you to be double vaccinated and to provide a Negative PCR or Antigen test days prior to departure in order to get on the boat. Then they made everyone wear a Vaccinated bracelet. Why not just make the unvaccinated kids wear the bracelet?
Bill S
Yay! on the bracelets. We leave Sunday. I guess I'm crazy, but they drive me nuts. ADHD thing, I guess. I'm the same way with shirt tags not on the collar.

I'm a little surprised they didn't change that one. Unless the hassle at check-in of checking 2 vs 3 and vax vs "up to date" would be too much. Which I could understand. But if 3 days, it opens up an additional window for someone to catch covid post negative test, prior to boarding. Personally I'm glad they left it at 2 days for the antigen test (but do understand it makes it more complicated for those who need to travel from further away). Ampurp85
I'm thinking by summer it will only be negative test and vax records from here on out. I really hated those bracelets, even more than mask. On my last Freedom cruise, they put the bracelet on me and tied it so tight. Thank goodness I had others because I had to cut that one off and replace.

Which I could understand. Think this is the exact reason. Not all guests aren't going to understand the differences and terminal agents are going to work in their own bubbles. Guess we'll find out the fallout when Carnival's policy kicks in. Worst case Carnival could have a third party mRNA vaccination clinic setup at the terminal to provide boosters. CDC does consider one "up to date" second after getting the booster.

Why not just make the unvaccinated kids wear the bracelet? Same reason they give over 21 people bracelets/stamps/etc at certain clubs to allow them to buy alcohol. If you gave them to the under 21 crowd, they would just take them off so they could buy drinks! Pattycruise and PPPJJ-GCVAB

Dianne
I just got the new protocols for my March 26 Odyssey cruise. Can someone please answer these questions? 1. Casino (we spend alot of time there) - is it now considered a smoking area, no masks and open to both vaccinated and unvaccinated? Are children the only passengers unvaccinated? Are they still doing exceptions? 2. Is My Time Dining now open to all passengers regardless of vaccinated status? Thank you! ⛱

smokeybandit
They said in the MDR if you have an unvax in your party that would just guarantee you a table just for your party. I would imagine the same would be true in other restaurants.

Va4fam
Quick Update-Just got off Oasis and can verify that we were not required to wear wristbands at all. Facemasks were voluntary and not required except for when we got off the ship in St. Thomas and had to wear them in the port area. No reservations required in Windjammer or many of the shows thanks to increased seating capacity. It was great!
