  2. Any TA that charges for cancellations (there are some out there that do) are a red flag. Time to find a new one.

  3. Time for a new TA if you have a TA that charges for anything above and beyond what the cruise line charges.

  4. Recap of the cruise and ship: it is just amazing. While there are some areas I would do things a little different overall this was even a big step up from Oasis class. Pros: If you have kids, or even if you don’t, the waterslides are really pretty awesome. They are a huge step up from the ones on all the other ships Promenade set up is so much better with full access on both 5th and 6th floor. The natural light and seating spaces outside from having this really enhance the experience on the promenade and make it feel less like a mall area on the other ships Pool deck chairs were a plenty even on sea days. You might not get a spot right by the pool you want if you want that, but if just looking to lay out there are plenty of spots to do so. And a lot of comfy loungers to lay in. Aquadome/Overlook area is much nicer than the solarium I think. The Overlook was a nice area to relax in and get some work done early in the mornings. Elevators. Yes these are sooo much better. We usually never take the elevator and found ourselves taking more often with the minimal wait times. Cons: Lack of shade in Hideaway adults only area. Only 1 Flowrider. I know some people don’t care, but with as many people that are on this ship I think a 2nd would be beneficial. And I think they should put a couple on Coco Cay. Also at the Flowrider area there is no shade. For parents who have to sit there and watch the kids that are under 13 it can be hot and miserable. They did have a nice seating area up there but no shade. They could actually put a little pool up there for the parents to chill in would be nice. Breakfast options I felt were lacking. I think not having a solarium bistro and Johnny Rockets made the WJ even more of a zoo than usual. Even my wife said after this cruise she doesn’t know how we go back to sailing anything other than Icon Class.

  5. Well sadly the trip has come to an end. It was just amazing. We got up and grabbed a last breakfast in WJ around 7:20. Then of course the wife still had 2 punches on her coffee card so had to grab another coffee from Pearl Cafe before we left. Line to get off ship was minimal at 8:30. We grabbed a porter to help with our luggage and breezed through customs. Our shuttle I had told probably around 9 and they got there just a couple mins before 9. Traffic to FLL wasn’t too bad. About 30 minutes and now sitting at gate. Luckily we weren’t heading to Miami as there was a really bad accident we passed and traffic was a disaster going that way. Our flight is at 11:30 so hopefully no delays and we can get back home. I know have 2 free casino certificates from the 2 cruises this last 3 weeks so will need to figure out how I plan to use those.

  6. No onboard merchandise is worth paying for unless it's on the clearance rack anyway.

  7. Yes, I thought that was suspicious. Considering she’s getting a free cruise because she booked 28 of us

  8. Some TAs charge for their services, including cancellations. MEI-Travel never charges any fees at all, the only fees you would pay would be the supplier (Royal Caribbean) fees if they charge.

  9. I had a TA that had the same policy. I don't have that company anymore.

  11. That’s old fashioned thinking. I have an high school diploma and a smidge over 4 decades in supermarkets (I started at 13). My retail career (along with my hs educated wife who has a work from home job she’s been in for 25+ years) allowed us to raise three kids and live wonderful, debt free lives. To keep it cruise related, we cruise multiple times a year. While I do agree that retail has become absolutely horrible over the past 4-5 years, staying in school has nothing to do with working it. Full disclosure, I hit my breaking point a month ago and jumped ship. I parlayed my hobby of 25+ years into a better paying job….all with my high school education. The pandemic changed the rules of retail and I’m tired of playing.

  12. We're already back onboard AD. I can't hang with the sun for very long. We usually don't even get off but I went with Dan while he did some snorkeling today. Even got a crispy chicken + moz sticks and a funnel cake ! Hope you guys all had a great time. It really was a perfect day at Coco Cay today !

  14. I’ve only met a deck supervisor once and that’s because she was married to our favorite bartender and he wanted us to meet her. I would speak with the hotel manager as well. I’m not good at confrontation lol

  17. We have dinner at CP150 and then gonna try the 830 Aquashow from our balcony..we closed down Mason Jar last night so probably will go back again. Casino has been harsh to us so we are on a strike

  19. You'll get a ton of different opinions. We tried it on Wonder and really enjoyed it. It's fun with the theming and different foods (we had a teen with us). They really accommodated (e.g. DH has allergies so they worked around that, DH and i don't eat meat...and they brought out a mac and cheese appetizer for our teen). We ordered our mains but they just brought the rest...and a great variety. If you haven't tried it, then I suggest to do so if you have the time in your plan.

  21. Oh my gosh!! I forgot all about this we had the internet package but kept getting dropped and then the strength was not reliable when I was connected so I kinda gave up on going on my phone this trip. It did allow me to disconnect more which was nice. But this would have been so much fun!! We ended up being in balcony 10729, so we were right on the far end and actually got to watch it from our room, with Sorrentos pizza and a couple Trulys and it was awesome Thank you again for the offer though, I’m bummed we didn’t meet up!! next time!

  22. Same here ... $100 pp penalty to reschedule seems financially better since the going rate for a refundable deposit have been in the neighborhood of $500. If the refundable deposit is closer to $200, I would book refundable. I have been able to reschedule a cruise. The $200 penalty gets rolled into the cost of the rescheduled cruise. I have never canceled a cruise entirely.

  23. All the ship's I've been on the last 2 years only have the one sided "sleeping off the adventure" magnet

  24. Oh yes, this is nuts. However, and i can't confirm this personally since we have never booked for 3, but people in the Haven said that there are upgrade offers for the 3rd and 4th pax after you book. I imagine you'd find them here, once you log on: But another thing i do need to mention is that Haven doesn't mean as much outside the Haven as Star Class. Yes, you get priority with most things and you will get a better seat in any restaurant, but there is no noticing your Haven key card and getting special treatment.

  25. 3 days until Miami. I'm ready. BE DONE WITH, WEEKEND!!!! I am a planner. I have my calendar ready months and months in advance. If you ask me what I'm doing in April 2025, I can whip out my planner and tell you already. This trip has been planned for MONTHS, with the only change being a lunch at Chop's instead of Izumi in the past month. So, when I see my cruise FB group asking about transportation options, where to stay, etc., and there are 3 DAYS TO GO, I want to pull my hair out. I realize it takes all kinds of people to make the world go around, but...I can't do last minute. Not now, not ever. I hope they survive.

  26. Royal Up has no bearing on anything other than changing the cabin. If you happen to win one, then want to make changes, all the rules for passenger changes still apply as if you never did the royal up.

  28. So in reading the fine print of my TA’s rules, ( I know I was bored one day LOL), it states they will charge $100 for any cancellations. I guess I don’t cancel that often, as I have never been charged. But I have never seen this before? Has anyone else? Is this something recent since Covid?

  30. I have yet to see a child under 10 get dress coded in the MDR. Your dress plans will not even remotely be an issue. Enjoy the cruise and don’t give this topic a second thought

  32. Now that you mention Serenade, we were on her in September last year for a Tampa to Boston repo. That was probably the ship. 12 days of the Heidi song!

  37. We got drinks and WiFi included too but would like to upgrade both, especially WiFi Also now considering cancelling my 3 night specialty dining and just reserving outright. Only $12 more total to book restaurants individually. Thats worth not running around on embarkation day. I’ve been waiting for the 3 night to get a better sale ($170 p/p) but there’s been nothing

  40. Lady Luck and Hard Rock are on this sailing so there's a lot of casino comp cruisers so that alone makes me avoid it. After a horrible run on 3 card last night I was over it I did turn my $8 of D+ freeplay into $5.55 though.

  45. This has been our experience as well. We’ve rescheduled before final payment date for $100 pp penalty (non-refundable deposits) which for us overall has been better financially than using refundable deposit rates.

  46. I just booked Apex for August. I’ve seen a few items on sale in regards to excursions. I’ve not paid attention to drinks or WiFi as I have those included with my tier level.

  49. The only true dress code RC has for MDR is no bare feet and no tank tops. Anything else is a suggestion. Main Dining Room/Specialty Dining Venues Bare feet are not allowed at any time in any venue and tank tops are not permitted in the Main Dining Room or Specialty Dining venues for dinner.
