Plumlee2028 Posted December 5, 2024 Report Posted December 5, 2024 I think Symphony is in Galveston through April 2027. I am sure Wonder/Utopia will be on the 3/4 Bahamas from Canaveral and Miami when those get released. Maybe Oasis or Allure get assigned those from Fort Lauderdale. It's also possible one gets assigned to a 4/5 day routing as well. It seems like lately there has been an Oasis class over the winter doing alternating 6/8 night trips from Fort Lauderdale as well. I don't see that yet and Miami has had a winter oasis class on the 7 day routings opposite Icon, and has had 2 Oasis class over the weekend before that. Quote
ScottD Posted January 4 Report Posted January 4 Going back and forth- help me out. 3k for three of us on Odyssey Thanksgiving 2025, Interior with the fake window thingee. From NJ, so no flight neeeded 4k for three of us, neighborhood view room on Icon August 2026.. flight\hotel involved- Much better itinerary. Was leaning toward the Icon cruise in '26 since we have the B2B cruise on MSC in August of this year, but that Thanksgiving deal with no flying involved on a ship\class we haven't done, does sound tempting. I'd go for Thanksgiving cruise. Icon just doesn't appeal to me. Too much like a theme park, not a cruise. Baked Alaska 1 Quote

Yeah the kid wants icon...but he'll also be pushing 15 by then and very well might be over the cruising thing by then...plus he doesnt even do waterslides! lol. Even though we will be pretty over the PC/Nassau run by then, the rest of the Thanksgiving cruise (price, location, ship that'll be new to us...no figuring out who's family we have to spend the holiday with!) Is definitely pretty appealing Quote

Is definitely pretty appealing We recently returned from Icon with a 15 and 19 year old. Our kids did the slides 2x but that was it. It's a hard decision....Odyssey is a great ship and not having to fly plus $1000 less is a huge bonus. I will say though that we absolutely loved Icon....so much to see and do. We loved the new (complimentary) food options and new bars, shows are incredible, ship is beautiful and loved the wide promenade with entrance to Central Park, and entrance of Central Park from Surfside. We loved Dueling Pianos and just everything. Having said that, we really enjoyed our Odyssey cruise the previous year so you can't go wrong. Only you can say if the additional cost is worth it but I'll just say that Icon is our entire families new favorite ship. One neat info too...we went over xmas but yet we didn't have an issue with crowds, etc. P.S. - We did the virtual balcony on Odyssey and enjoyed the room. But we're not picky and typically do balcony and interiors. ScottD 1 Quote

We are moving a reservation that we can't make, so even though it will cost us ANOTHER 300 to move all of our reservations, we do have the deposits toward the new cruise paid already when we do decide. I just want to decide soon, the Icon cruise already jumped up $200 since I looked at it 2 weeks ago. WannaCruise 1 Quote

Personally I've always wanted to try a holiday cruise, so add in no flying, less time off required and a ship class I haven't done and it's a no-brainer for me! After reading about your family's adventures, there's also a decent shot your (not so) little might like Odyssey's sports deck as much as or more than anything Icon has for him. Just one Philly-area guy's opinion to another. Ampurp85, teddy and ScottD 3 Quote

The one on Odyssey looks really cool. Definitely leaning that way..then maybe book icon for later the next year anyway. USCG Teacher 1 Quote

It's something we all really want to try, and gives us plenty of time between cruises and holidays to worry about the money! My wife actually had zero interest in Icon just from the pics of the exterior and seeing it in passing last month, BUT a nice Icon video or two on You tube (thanks @Matt, your Icon Vs Wonder video sealed the deal after a walkthrough vid) had her sold- especially all of the new included food venues! teddy, WAAAYTOOO, WannaCruise and 2 others 5 Quote

Icon looks strange from the outside, but that's the Overlook, which is floor to ceiling windows from the inside and gives amazing views all day. It's so relaxing and peaceful in there (with the best new coffee bar). And yes, the new food venues are great and probably one of the things that put it above Oasis class for us (love both though). Tahiti port schedule has Ovation and Anthem doing a trans pacific to Australia about the same time Navigator finishes in L.A. I’m thinking the Ovation booking might be a place holder for Navigator as Ovation has multiple bookings in San Pedro at the same time. https://www.portdepapeete.pf/fr/previsions-navires ScottD 1 Quote
