  1. With Allure, Royal still has a compelling product compared to their peers: An Amplified Mariner is replacing Voyager on the 4/5 night trips. This competes well with Carnival's 4/5 Day on their Breeze. They have been running Jewel in the winter for long itineraries, however I didn't see that return for winter 26/6. But that competed well against Carnival Miracle. That said, they seem to have decided it is worth having 2 ships in San Juan for the winter, which may speak to that. Allure may be older than Carnival Jubilee (almost all ships are, since it is brand new) but doesn't mean it isn't competitive. It also probably has less people on an average sailing despite being significantly larger (about 40000 tons). With Harmony, they began working 8 days cruises into the rotation to add variety. Princess and Norwegian in the winter add another dynamic to compete against. Sometimes that doesn't mean you add more of the greatest, but you put your assets where they make the most sense. Carnival is big in Galveston, there is no way around that. They have Jubilee on the 7 day trips; Dream on the 6/8 day rotations; Breeze on 4/5 days; and Miracle (soon legend) on the long winter trips. I personally am of the mindset that Allure will transition to 4/5 day trips at some point with another ship moving to the 7 day trips. Royal has seen the ability to the Oasis class to succeed on short trips and quite obviously seems to like it. I suspect that the success there led to the new order last month. I am not sure that they want 4 or 5 ships based in Galveston like Carnival does. The new Beach Club at Cozumel had Galveston in mind.
  2. Infinity just got a bit of a refresh with new carpeting in places, new retreat lounge, bigger luminae. They also changed the family balconies to "sunset suites" which will be part of the retreat. Millennium and Summit got revolutions before Covid. The others in the class may get similar to what Infinity just got.
  3. I wouldn't expect the parent group to order nothing in 2027, but that may be a year to order for Celebrity (Xcel in 2025 is their last) or Silversea (Silver Ray this year is their last order). Or they could just think they will need a break. They generally take delivery of 2-3 ships a year. Last year was 3, and then 3 this year (including TUI), 3 next year (including TUI), and 2 in 2026 (including TUI).
  4. I dont think we will know the full story here until winter of this year. Next week will clear up what is taking on the 4/5 market through April 2026, then I think they are done until around the November timeframe this year, where they would announce April 2026-April 2027?
  5. https://cruiseindustrynews.com/cruise-news/2024/02/royal-caribbean-group-signs-agreement-with-chantiers-next-oasis-class-ship/ Royal Caribbean ordered a 7th Oasis Class for Delivery in 2028 from Chantiers (financing needs completed). I was a little surprised to read that this morning, I assumed another large one would be Icon class at this point. Could be a sign they are working on another class of Ship with Meyer Group (Meyer Werft and Meyer Turku), such as the Discovery Class, or they could still be planning more Icon from them as well. There is no delivery in 2027 on their current schedule, but that may be intentional to absorb some capacity. From very late 2023-2026 is 3 Icon class and an Oasis Class already.
  6. Oasis Number 7 is officially next after Icon 3. Due in 2028. That leaves 2027 open for something else, but they may be intentionally taking that year off. https://cruiseindustrynews.com/cruise-news/2024/02/royal-caribbean-group-signs-agreement-with-chantiers-next-oasis-class-ship/
  7. They just ordered Oasis Number 7 this morning. Due in 2028. https://cruiseindustrynews.com/cruise-news/2024/02/royal-caribbean-group-signs-agreement-with-chantiers-next-oasis-class-ship/
  8. Its possible Allure eventually moves to 4/5 day routing and Wonder/Icon or something takes over 7 nights. Or they move to a more permanent 6/8 night ship and a 7 night ship like Carnival does.
  9. You would just have 80 points. The points build separately on each brand. So your status will be Elite, with all of the perks etc associated, but you will just stay there until you get enough points, on Celebrity, for the next tier. For example, I have 111 points, but am "Select" still, because I am Platinum on Royal Caribbean. It just says I have 189 points to the next tier. With the solo pricing of late, dont see that needle moving much for me.
  10. In the Winter, Royal has been adding Jewel or other Radiance class ships recently for longer trips. Carnival has three ships year round (and four in winter now). Their three ships do 4/5 sailings on one, 6/8 day sailings on one, and 7 night on the third. The fourth in the winter is doing longer sailings. Harmony has started doing some 6/8 night alternating trips so that the 8 nights can head to the Bahamas. Carnival's 7 night variety will decrease when their new larger ship, Jubilee, replaces Vista later this month.
  11. The 3rd Icon is supposed to be delivered in Q2 2026 as of the most recent 10-K Annual report. So could be a case of Icon 3 to Orlando and Star to Galveston. Or new ship to Miami and Icon to Galveston. That said, Star hasn't even had its first deployment released, so who knows. Does any of the deployment go beyond April 2026?
  12. Hi: Ive only stayed in Concierge Class (it was a cheap $100 MoveUp upgrade from the solo balcony) but here is what I know about your questions. Concierge Class is the same physical space as that ships balcony. (Traditional Balcony on Millennium or Solstice Class or Infinite Veranda on Edge Class). It has concierge Access, a welcome lunch in the dining room, a bottle of sparkling wine, daily canapés in the room (you need to request both now, but they are there), and I believe slightly upgraded bath amenities, and a couple extra perks. https://www.celebritycruises.com/things-to-do-onboard/staterooms/concierge-class-stateroom In cabin service (except for the deliverables above) is the same as a normal cabin. I personally didn't get much use of the concierge class product. Sky Suite is a full suite and is part of the retreat product. https://www.celebritycruises.com/things-to-do-onboard/staterooms/suite-class The suites are similar across the fleet and all suites within the same class have a similar service level. The primary difference in hard product will be decoration and that the non-revolutionized ships do not have a retreat sundeck. I do see that some of the higher end suites (such as Royal Suite and above) will have complimentary unlimited specialty dining and liquor bottles in the room. You won't have a sky suite on Apex and one on Infinity with different service. (The one exception is they introduced an Aqua Sky Suite, which will add AquaClass amenities). I believe Only the edge class has a retreat sundeck with a pool, and the revolutionized ships have a retreat sundeck with no pool area. Celebrity Suite looks comparable to Grand Suite, but if the space isn't an issue, then Sky Suite is going to get the same service level. Its not like a Royal Caribbean Junior Suite with more space and that's about it. I can't really compare butlers to Genies.
  13. Heading on the Beyond for the ABC islands next April. Originally booked as Reflection, but Celebrity changed it when re-vamping their offerings. Loved Apex and Edge, so I know Beyond will be great. Was looking forward to trying Solstice Class however. After that, my next two are on Princess. The Premier pricing they offer for elevated drinks, wifi, and other perks is too good to pass up now.
  14. I don't think it is intended to be flippant when saying "try Celebrity." It is really a view on how the holdings company views the market. They have targeted "multi-generational family travel" for the RCI brand. Their hope is you join them with your large family some day. Celebrity does match Royal on loyalty, depending on what level you are at. May not be what you want from the benefits, but worth checking out the benefits in case. The company has limited resources with which to buy ships. Its not just the money, its the space in the yard. There are three major groups building large ships for Western Cruise lines today: Fincantieri, Meyer, and Chantiers de L'Antique. Combined, they are building 11 cruise ships over 35,000 tons this year, 10 in 2024, and 11 in 2025. (There are more yards that build smaller ships/expedition ships). One group, Meyer, is making it clear in recent moves they intend to diversify, which may further limit capacity. MSC is not slowing down building, Carnival Corp is. Norwegian Holdings has significant orders. All of this means that when Royal negotiates for slots in the yards and contracts for ships, they are using scarce resources and have to pick the use that they think will make them the most money. So while they may like to build smaller ships for Royal, that contract, yard position, and cash may be better used on one of their brand's niches. I do think this project discovery happens, it just will resemble voyager class or so in size and probably won't be a large class. 25 years ago, nobody thought a voyager class could homeport from anywhere but Florida. Who knows where we are in another 25 years, when these ships are getting ready for a set of Amplifications.
  15. NCL is not actively targeting the Royal Caribbean demographic, they view Viva and Prima as Celebrity competitors. Even their recent discussions on deployment strategies: Royal is heavier in the 7 days or less and NCL is targeting more longer journeys. There are exceptions to each brand, but that's the general trend. Royal Caribbean is much more defined as family travel and multi-generational family travel these days. That is how they positioned the brand. They own an 2 upscale brands targeted towards adults, celebrity and silversea. They've worked hard to differentiate the brands over the past decade, so that each brand can play to its strengths.
