tonyfsu21
What’s the biggest single hand pay on slots or table session you have won on a Royal Caribbean cruise? I know it’s not Las Vegas and the progressives are few and far between but I bet there’s still some significant wins out there! I won a $10k jackpot on Wheel of fortune gold spins with a $10 bet on Odyssey and I don’t recall hearing of any others that sailing.

WAAAYTOOO
I won a ~6K hand at Ultimate Texas Hold’Em on Liberty (Royal Flush) a few years ago and they did not give me a W-2G. Ampurp85
Mine was a major bonus of close to $500 but I play slots around $1.50-2 a pull so the odds of winning anything too big on a cruise ship for me is low. I'm not really gambling on the hopes of hitting it big. I want the fun to last. I will gamble higher bets at land based casinos because usually I'm only there for a short period WAAAYTOOO, DoomSlayer, jbrinkm and 1 other

Mr Apple
Diane my wife bet 320 max coins of $.01 and won$677.14. We were on Allure of the Seas playing the progressive slots. Should somebody win over $1,200 in a single payout or enjoy a table game win with odds of 300/1 or more, then technically the house is required to provide the lucky winner with IRS Form W-2G — who can then pay the taxes on their haul. For winnings that fall under these thresholds the player will not be given any forms but should self-report their winnings using IRS Form 1040. They made sure to give me the W-2G form before the paid me the jackpot from my earlier post. They asked for my ID, ran off to a back room, came back about 10 minutes later with the tax form and my winnings. My understanding is that if you are not a US citizen based on your ID, then they will not give you a tax form while in international waters. Only for US citizens and residents while in international waters. The only time a non-US citizen will receive a tax form is if the ship is in claimed territory, like Alaska cruises often are. Non-US citizens or residents will have taxes automatically withheld from winnings if the ship is in US territory because they cannot give a social security number or tax id number (same for US land based casinos). SPS
No big wins, but a couple fun events: While on Rhapsody in 2017, we were just kinda wandering machine to machine playing around. After losing $19 from a twenty in a few quarter machines, I cashed out and had a $1 voucher. Not wanting to cash out for one lousy dollar, I put it in a $1 Stars & Stripes machine and BOOM! $360! This past August on Quantum, I took my $6 C&A casino bonus and after losing a little, winning a little over 6 days, I left the cruise $260 up without using any of the cash I brought on board! Marc
One of the things that I disliked most about playing slot machines onboard Royal Caribbean cruises is that my experiences getting handpays paid is unpleasant, including several times when I've had to get up and walk away from the machine to find an employee somewhere else in the casino to get assistance (during morning hours when things are quiet and not bustling or as smoky). I don't know whether their handpay alert system wasn't working, but on some ships, it seems like they depended on discovering the locked-up machine with an expectant player as they stroll through the casino. (This is compared with my few NCL experiences where it was a very smooth operation with handpays typically paid within single-digit minutes.) I will say that a significant amount of this is caused by me as I tended to be a higher-value player. (There have been times when playing the winnings at $100/spin was just how things were going for me on a handful of nights.)

Bowen
I love gambling on cruises, it’s the only time I do it. I bring a certain amount of money and don’t plan on going home with any of it. I’ve never won more than a couple hundred dollars, but my husband won $3K on a quick hit machine. That’s the only time we went home with money, and I argued against it. I like it to last so I play with that in mind. If I come to the last day with a couple hundred dollars of my next booked cruise then all the better.
urgentgorgoroth
Your cruise gambling strategy is on point! I totally get the thrill of trying your luck at the casino while sailing the high seas. It's like a special treat with a side of ocean breeze. And kudos to your husband for hitting the jackpot – $3K on a quick hit machine is impressive! I can see the friendly debate over taking the winnings home; that RTP Slot fate can be tricky, right? Here's to hoping your next cruise comes with even more luck and fun!
