  1. In January, we did a S2S with Liberty and Allure. We walked off Liberty in Ft. Lauderdale about 6:40 am and drove to Port Canaveral. We were on Allure by 10:30 am. This was on a Monday.
  2. I received a Royal Caribbean gift card recently and I was able to take it to Guest Services and apply it directly to my account. It only took about a minute to do and it covered most of our specialty dining charge! This was especially useful to us since we use our BOGO D+ benefit on the first two nights and don't book dining in advance.
  3. Radiance is a smaller ship with fewer specialty restaurants, but the unlimited dining package for our 14 night cruise in April is $448 per person. Chops, Izumi, Samba Grill, Giovanni's Table (and Chef's Table w/$49.99 surcharge)
  4. As I always tell my kids (and my elderly mother) - the ability to adapt to change is the key to happiness.
  5. Well, all the apps and the guac are so delicious that you almost don't need an entree! But, I usually get the shrimp tacos and yucca barrel fries with mango-habanero dipping sauce. The steak quesadilla is pretty tasty too. I'm not usually a margarita drinker, but I definitely make an exception for those jalapeno cucumber ones. Honestly, our favorite thing on the menu is the chicken stuffed jalapenos wrapped in bacon - they are amazing!
  6. Allure, Harmony, Odyssey, Independence, Mariner Until the dreaded day that Allure and Harmony (& Liberty) finally do away with Sabor, they will remain at the top of my list. It is our family's all time favorite specialty restaurant - we've never had a bad meal there!
  7. In addition to LOTS of walking and taking the stairs as others have mentioned, there are a couple of things I always do. 1 - I order a fruit plate and coffee delivered to the room for breakfast. There is no charge and that is all I need to get my day started. None of the temptations of the excess of breakfast options in the windjammer! 2 - On the first night in the MDR, we tell the waiters to skip the bread basket for our table. No wasted food and with plenty of other options, we don't miss the bread.
  8. I agree! I take a Yeti and just fill it with glasses of water from the promenade cafe, Windjammer, etc. The water on the ship is fine.
  9. We did the exact Oasis cruise in May of 2019. As someone mentioned, seeing Pompeii was definitely amazing. And we also took the opportunity to visit the top of Mt. Vesuvius. We enjoyed the itinerary, but even in mid May, it got quite hot. We also just returned from a 7-night Norway cruise on Anthem. (9/3-9/10 -- Stavanger, Olden, Geiranger, and Haugesund) I HIGHLY recommend visiting the Norwegian fjords before the environmental laws begin restricting the ships that can sail there. The views were stunning and like nothing I have seen before. Pictures just cannot do the fjords justice! Our favorite day was Olden when we went up on the Loen skylift. When we went up the skylift a bit before 10:00am, the whole area was covered in clouds and fog. We were worried at first that we would not have anything to see at the top. But, within an hour, the fog and clouds were gone and the view was amazing. Pictures below!! If you choose to do the Loen skylift, do not do it through a ship excursion or part of a tour where you will be rushed. You can purchase tickets directly through Olden Adventures and they have a shuttle bus running at least every half hour to/from the pier. You can visit at your leisure, but I recommend getting there as early as possible to avoid long lines. Also, once at the summit, there is a restaurant/bar, zipline, and numerous other trails to hike further up the mountain. The trails are relatively easy to navigate and offer fantastic views. Both itineraries are great, but my vote goes to Norway.
  10. Oh yes! We booked a B2B for 9/13/24 & 9/16/24. I'm not a fan of the shorter cruises (unless they are SUPER discounted), so we booked the same room for both dates to enjoy a nice 7 night getaway.
  11. The soft serve machines on Serenade in the Windjammer were self-serve in January. It might vary by ship.
  12. My favorite hack - If you enjoy the frosted coffee at Chick-Fil-A, it's fairly simple to recreate on board. I head up to the Diamond lounge and get 2 shots of espresso. (I assume that those with a beverage/refreshment package would be able to get espresso from the bars with coffee or at the Promenade cafe.) Ask for an empty beverage cup at the Windjammer and pour in the espresso. Then head to the soft serve machine and fill the cup with vanilla soft serve. Mix together and you'll have a delicious frosted coffee!!
  13. Just to clarify.... In my experience, they are not insisting that you eat everything on the first plate, only that you are finished with one plate before they bring another. They do not care how much is left on the first plate when they take it away. Still not ideal, but they are definitely NOT making you "finish all your vegetables".
  14. Mine are - Kentucky Summer, Coconut Mojito and Mango Daiquiri
  15. We just got off of Serenade of the Seas. We were on their first cruise with the new menus. Someone in our party ordered two entrees one night and was told the same thing. The waiter said he could not bring them out together - that she would get the first and when she ate what she wanted of that, she would get the second. He also made a point to explain that on lobster night, if someone did not want lobster, they could order it and another entree (brought out separately) and give their lobster to someone else at the table. But the funny thing was, he said the person who ordered it had to give it to the other diner - he could not physically serve 2 to the same person unless they paid for the second.
