Royal, don't get any funny ideas...
Freegirl replied to bcarney's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
We are Diamond Plus with Royal, but this is exactly why we have taken 3 MSC cruises in the last year. Each of those cruises was fantastic. I feel sure that some Carnival loyalists will be trying MSC. -

Absolutely agree with this!!! Our family and friends we sail with all love Ricky. He is so energetic and just such a fun guy. He is also very approachable and friendly.

Not sure what was happening yesterday, but we were just in Labadee on Jan 27th and the Wifi worked fine. Or it seemed to - maybe I was able to reach the ship's wifi at some point.

Yes, ours were like this recently on Wonder. We weren't happy with that at all. -
RCL Stock hits $200 a share today
Freegirl replied to CruisingSteve's topic in Royal Caribbean News and Rumors
This discrepancy is largely due to the outstanding number of shares of stock. Carnival has a lot higher number of shares. Current estimates: RCL has over 257 Million Carnival has over 1.1 Billion As some have mentioned, makes you wonder if RCL will have a stock split in the future. -

We also use the Chase Sapphire for travel insurance, so we opted for the Allianz AllTrips Basic plan. It covers $20,000 medical coverage and $100,000 medical emergency transportation. It also covers some other things - baggage loss/delay, rental car, etc. We have private health insurance so we mainly just wanted the emergency transport coverage. The yearly cost was $276 for 2 people.

The benefits for Elite Plus also show complimentary cappuccino, latte, tea, and espresso. That will be nice. It has been a few years since I've sailed Celebrity. Will those complimentary coffees be in some lounge (like the Crown lounge) or just at the regular coffee cafe?

Speaking of ill-advised, bad ideas…
Freegirl replied to Thumper44's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
In January, we did a S2S with Liberty and Allure. We walked off Liberty in Ft. Lauderdale about 6:40 am and drove to Port Canaveral. We were on Allure by 10:30 am. This was on a Monday. -
I received a Royal Caribbean gift card recently and I was able to take it to Guest Services and apply it directly to my account. It only took about a minute to do and it covered most of our specialty dining charge! This was especially useful to us since we use our BOGO D+ benefit on the first two nights and don't book dining in advance.

Radiance is a smaller ship with fewer specialty restaurants, but the unlimited dining package for our 14 night cruise in April is $448 per person. Chops, Izumi, Samba Grill, Giovanni's Table (and Chef's Table w/$49.99 surcharge)

As I always tell my kids (and my elderly mother) - the ability to adapt to change is the key to happiness.

Well, all the apps and the guac are so delicious that you almost don't need an entree! But, I usually get the shrimp tacos and yucca barrel fries with mango-habanero dipping sauce. The steak quesadilla is pretty tasty too. I'm not usually a margarita drinker, but I definitely make an exception for those jalapeno cucumber ones. Honestly, our favorite thing on the menu is the chicken stuffed jalapenos wrapped in bacon - they are amazing!
-
Allure, Harmony, Odyssey, Independence, Mariner Until the dreaded day that Allure and Harmony (& Liberty) finally do away with Sabor, they will remain at the top of my list. It is our family's all time favorite specialty restaurant - we've never had a bad meal there!
-
In addition to LOTS of walking and taking the stairs as others have mentioned, there are a couple of things I always do. 1 - I order a fruit plate and coffee delivered to the room for breakfast. There is no charge and that is all I need to get my day started. None of the temptations of the excess of breakfast options in the windjammer! 2 - On the first night in the MDR, we tell the waiters to skip the bread basket for our table. No wasted food and with plenty of other options, we don't miss the bread.

carry on storage on Harmony of the Seas
Freegirl replied to Barbarabeebee's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
I agree! I take a Yeti and just fill it with glasses of water from the promenade cafe, Windjammer, etc. The water on the ship is fine.
