CNA Jacksonville
As a result of our last cruise my wife and I achieved Gold Status for our upcoming September cruise on Mariner. When I signed up I was assigned a Crown & Anchor number which got us the "perks" (Priority Check in and Private Preboardling Lounge). Do I need to sign my wife up for the program too and if so will be accumulate points/awards faster? We always travel as a couple (duh!). Each one of you should have your own account and number. You will not accrue anything faster, but there may be a situation where you don't cruise together and having your own number makes things easier. I tend to always use my husband's number for checking prices and such, and the account I use for all Cruise Planner check-ins and purchases is tied to him, but we both do have our own. Definitely, each person should get their own number - wife, husband and each kid. My dad is going on his first cruise in November. Sushitex
My husband and I went on our first cruise with Royal a little over a month ago. I think that I was able to obtain a Crown & Anchor number for myself online very soon after booking the cruise with the travel agent. I didn’t think about my husband not having his own C&A number until right before we boarded the ship. So, as soon as we boarded, we went to Guest Services, who told us to see the Loyalty Ambassador as soon as possible ( her office opened right after the muster drill finished.) In any case, it was a good thing that dh received his own Crown & Anchor number - he likes to gamble in the ship’s casino, and the casino club rewards system requires that each player have a C&A number. I very rarely gamble, but I wouldn’t want to be without a number myself. Btw, we are Gold members, of course, but I will be darned if I can figure out how to change that “Pre-Gold” status that’s in my byline. I have already tried a few times, but no luck, lol! KathyC
Oh, another reason to each have your own Crown & Anchor account, is so you each get a set of benefits. It doesn't mean much now, but it will as you move up the ranks and you EACH get a buy one get one free beverage (specialty coffee, beer, glass of wine, milkshake) and other discounts. If she doesn't have a C & A status, then you're missing out on some great benefits!
Sushitex
Yes, I am not sure what “Pre-Gold” in my byline means in these message boards. Your dad should sign up for crown and Anchor online or over the phone before the cruise and get his loyalty number so that he can then add his crib and Anchor number to the cruise and start earning points from the first day of each cruise all the way to the last day of each cruise. CrznTxn
Also remember that if you are in the same household and relationship each of you can be the same level as the highest member. I my wife goes on additional cruises with her friends and when she reaches the next level I call RCCL and they update me as well. Nice for perks and check-ins. 711Dave
Just Checking ... Wife and I went on a 9 night cruise in May on the Grandeur. I had gotten my Crown and Anchor membership number pre cruise. Wife received hers after cruise. She was awarded her 9 points when she got hers, I am still waiting. Question is .. Should we both get the 9 points or does just the "primary" name (evidently her)on the reservation get the points? BTW, the cruise to New England and Canada was fantastic and we are booked for next April to Bermuda (2 night stay) on the Grandeur. VinceC
This may be a stupid question, but I thought that once you cruise you automatically get a C&A number assigned by Royal. Does that still hold true?

Certainly you need to set up your account before benefits start coming your way.

For years, I was always one cruise behind my wife (7 pts). She was up to Emerald and I was still at Platinum. We mentioned it to our travel agent and she told us to go to C&A desk on-board and it would be taken care of. Sure enough, it took just a few minutes and I was bumped up to Emerald and our memberships are now linked. We were told that we will always be at the higher of the 2 levels. 711Dave
Replying to my original question. After setting up a Crown and Anchor Account ( I don't remember how I did it ) I read somewhere (probably on here) that after completing your first cruise you would automatically receive your Crown and Anchor membership number and your points. So I did NOTHING except wait to see if the wife got her membership and sure enough, about 4 weeks after the cruise she received an email welcoming her to the C&A. As of now we have not done anything to set up out accounts, but will look into that.
Lloyd
So let's say that we have the two memberships are linked. My partner is a PLATINUM and I'm an EMERALD. When we both go on our next cruise together, does it show EMERALD on my partner's SeaPass so that without swiping the card, a crew member can see status? And is it mentioned elsewhere in documents related to my partner? Also, just out of curiosity, if I go on additional cruises without my partner and reach the next level, DIAMOND, is my partner also considered DIAMOND even though he didn't go on those additional cruises? If not, would we need to call RCCL and they will update status? Thanks.
MikeK
If you are looking to climb the C & A ladder quicker you might look into a Jr. suite next time around because you cruise points double. We did that years ago and now we are diamond plus members. Sometimes the Jr. suites aren't that much more than a standard balcony room. The Jr suites are bigger, nicer bathrooms, walk in closets on Oasis class ships, and getting on and off the ship is sometimes quicker. Keep price checking and you could bump up. In all respects they would be Emerald. Their SetSail pass will say Emerald and their Seapass card will say Emerald even if they sail without you some time. Once your two accounts are linked then as you climb the CAS ladder their status will automatically be elevated along with you. There is nothing further to do once the accounts are tagged to be in a relationship. Lloyd

Arthea Reno
This may be a dumb or repeated question, so I apologize in advance if it is. I have my own C&A number and I recently signed my husband up for his. He has 0 points as a newbie. I have 12 from our last trip. We are going again in October in another Jr suite for 5 nights. I think we will both get 10 points each. So, after our upcoming cruise, is it possible for his points to be combined so that we can move up to platinum for next year’s cruise? Or do our points always stay separate? Thank you for any help at all….

The person with the highest point total in the relationship will determine status. But point totals stay the same. Example I have 179 points but my partner has 53. He gets the diamond plus status but not my points and they don't combine points. OCSC Mike

While onboard we were chatting with a loyalty ambassador and this came up. He checked the system and it turns out my husband was not entered into a relationship with me. He fixed it, my husband now shows my points (me being the points earner). My husband recently sailed on his own. The 4 points he earned did not move our “joint points” up as I’ve earned a significant amount of points without him. call crown and anchor and ensure your entered into a relationship. 1 (800) 526-9723 Or when you are on your next cruise you can make an inquiry while onboard with the loyalty ambassador
