These are really great changes !  How about being able to take advantage of price drops right up until 48 hours prior to sailing !!!!  This has always been a sore spot for me since I always book waaay

Lift and Shift sounds too much like cosmetic surgery procedure.   I would have called it what it truly is Save Your Bacon.

Considering you can only use lift and shift once, I would save it for a truly amazing deal. I am also super happy about this extension as none of my family feels comfortable cruising this year and thi

@YOLOI think the Lift and Shift is the opportunity all of us die hard cruisers have been looking for!

Without question I would lift and shift any upcoming cruise I got to the following year. Delaying payment and delaying making a decision whether do I really wanna place myself in that situation.

Your cruise is in November??? Lift and Shift till next year and as we get closer to November and you have more information whether this is a trip you would like to take; pick up the phone and book a new one. If not; hey, you dodged a bullet.

Lift and Shift is a very generous way of allowing us to postpone payments and decisions for a very long time. Thank you RCL!!!

Long time lurker, first time poster.

The lift and shift is a great idea!  I've got the entire family booked on Ovation for a July Alaska itinerary and it will be the kids first cruise.  The price was so unbelievable that it was less to take the entire family this year than just the wife and I next year so we went for it a few months ago.  Obviously we're not too confident it will actually sail so we were going to use the FCC to rebook next year if it did get cancelled.  Now I could still take the whole family next year for the same cost!

But does anyone have an idea if the lift and shift will still be available if the cruise is cancelled by Royal?  I really want to go this year if they do sail, but I don't want to miss out on the lift and shift if it has be done under cruise with confidence.

Love these updates/new offers!

We'll need to at least consider the Lift & Shift for our Oasis sailing on 10/4/20 since we got such an amazing deal and NY/NJ will be a little iffy this year!

Things that make you go hmmm.... we have until 8/1/20 to take them up on that program.

This may tempt us to keep our cruise in Nov now...IF we could lift it to next year if we needed to and get to keep the price and cabin and our planner options, defn makes it more tempting to take a chance on a cruise in NOV knowing that we could do it next year and not lose out on anything really(besides airfare but)

We took advantage of the recent casino comp cruises they offered.  Any idea if a cruise booked through Casino Royale qualifies for Lift and Shift?

I pretty much knew the answer but thought I would try. I just called Casino Royale.  The casino comp cruises do not qualify for Lift and Shift.

It is still a great addition to Cruise with Confidence.  Thanks Royal!!

When it says lift and shift can be used only once, I’m assuming that is per cruise, not per person.  I have 18 lined up.  I should be able to lift and shift all of them.

18 !!!  Just Wow !!!

Trying to decipher the Lift & Shift and could use some help.

Can I move my October Oasis cruise to the same sailing next year for the same price and OBC I already have?    Or will it be for whatever price the new sailing is charging?

Can I use Lift & Shift once per cruise or only once no matter how many cruises I have booked (4 right now)?

Can I use L & S for a booking that is 18 months from now?

What happens if the rates go down after I have moved a sailing via L & S.....do I still get the lower rate or am I locked in?

What happens if I move a cruise via L&S and it gets cancelled too?

Yea I think I am going to book a cruise in September/ October out of Miami and wait for RCCL to cancel the October cruise and get the 125% FCC or I will do the Life and Shift to next October.

Pretty sure your cruise planner items get refunded and not shifted; and you will need to repurchase at prevailing rate.

I believe the 125% FCC offers will be going away with the introduction of L&S

Maybe, and that would stink, but the Lift & Shift program expires in less than 90 days from now this August (8/1/20) unless they extend it of course!

Trying to figure out how to say this correctly!   I appreciate they are trying to put our mind at ease with future cruise bookings , but how about a real sale on cruises.

I have been looking at a number of cruises from July to November/2020 and the prices haven't  budged!

Hoping we can Life & Shift our Dec 28 2020 Adventure OS out of Galveston to Dec 26 2021 Allure out of Galveston, as it is the only 7 night Western Caribbean out of Galveston during Dec 2021.

@AshleyDillo You make a good point about Galveston perhaps not being ready for Allure by Dec 2021.

Now what to do, what to do?

From reading the FAQ about the Lift & Shift program, my understanding is you're not tied to switching to leaving out of the same port.  This will open up your options to the other three Oasis sisters.  Plus for itinerary, I think as long as it's Caribbean it shouldn't matter east/west.  Since you're already booked on a NYE sailing, then you can opt to choose another NYE sailing to flip to.  Otherwise you could look at 4 weeks before/after (excluding Christmas) to pick a week.  I don't know if you drive down to Galveston to sail or fly, but if flying you may want to look at the Florida departures instead.  I think Allure sailings are the most volatile because of uncertainties with the new Galveston terminal and her AMPlification.  If you're flying anyways, you might as well open up your possibilities of doing Oasis, Harmony, or Symphony as well.

Yes, flying. Don't the ship classes have to be somewhat close to each other, or could I literally go from a GS on Adventure to a GS on an Oasis class? That would be great! Not as great and the Crown Loft Suite that we lost last month on Oasis, but the price difference and a larger ship class would be great!

Nope!  This is from the FAQ that went to TAs:

Quote

LIFT & SHIFT:

31. Understanding that the same itinerary, stateroom category, sailing length, and timeframe are a requirement, is it essential that my client rebook on the same ship as well?

No, it is not required that your client rebook on the same ship or ship class.

I would hit up Sharla and see if you can get switched to an Oasis ship for NYE 2021 under this policy.  Seems like a great deal, especially if they'll do it with the FCC you've already applied.

Then if you still want to go this year and it appears feasible, just shop for a replacement 😂
