VACruiser
Could you imagine Cozumel when six cruise ships are in port and someone coming down with symptoms after leaving port? Or someone testing positive to COVID-19 a week after visiting the island. That would be a mess. Oh yea, I will be in Cozumel 13th of March with six ships that day so it is something I have thought about but not worry about it.
blueship
What are the chances that among 4500plus People one person has the flu? this has been my worry all along people are way overreacting and the panic will be worse than the disease. I wonder what the cruise protocols will be in a situation like this. Do places refuse docking when there are noro virus cases. Will they return to Miami, stay out at sea for the duration? Im willing to bet now that Cozumel will not allow them to dock either.
monctonguy
This will cripple the cruise industry at least temporarily if this becomes the norm....one crew member not feeling well equals being blocked from docking...there will be a lot of cruises to nowhere half empty. kadmgs
Have a friend on this ship. On Wednesday after they were denied entry in Grand Cayman, they were given $200 credit per stateroom. Yesterday, it was announced they would receive 30% back from this sailing and 20% off their next sailing. He didn't say if they were allowed off the ship in Cozumel or not. He did say they were all screened during embarkation for fever of 100 or more. Ogilthorpe

No one died on any ship. That's hyperbole. To date 4 passengers who were once on DP succumbed after they left the ship. No one watched them die on the ship as you state. Did people die in their homes in China in the early days of this? Yes. All terribly unfortunate watching loved one die in their homes in China for those families but you are creating ship news that never happened. The mortality rate of people who die from the Corona virus is less than 1%. And that is if you have pre-existing conditions such as cardiovascular disease, chronic respiratory disease, or diabetes. It is less than .5% if no pre-existing condition. Painting a picture of an apocalyptic scene of people dying all over the ship is a little far fetched. Even for those that are unfortunate enough to catch it, symptons are coughing, sneezing, and fever. Sounds kinda like the flu millions of people get every year. The deaths are from folks over the age of 80. These same folks would succumb to the "common" flu as well. Unfortunate but nothing to panic over. monctonguy
Nope....29 yr old doctor died from it......that's just one example out of almost 3000 that died....so not all old and over 80....so don't try and use a sweeping generalization to justify your standoffish position on this issue. I didn't say people dying ALL OVER THE SHIP. The death rate is 18x the flu so far is a fact.....
