  1. I thought the SAME THING. Looking slightly less than alluring (see what I did there). Im pretty sure she was due for Amplification when Covid hit. Suspect she will get a dry dock......hopefully before April.
  2. I partially agree....may very well be what they are doing.....but there is a big picture aspect to this. Precedent can be set for the limits to what the CDC can do with the cruise line industry (and others), and how they impose "guidance". Im hoping thats what we ultimately get from this.
  3. Since, it seems, RC will be requiring proof of vaccination in your documents, I guess that means no cruises out of Florida? Am I missing something?
  4. First time was September of 2002. It looked nothing like it does now, but I loved every second on that island. Not surprisingly, it was also the first COCO LOCO I ever drank....
  5. I find it no coincidence that National TA Day is also Cinco de Drinko.....er, Mayo. Cheers to the best TA there is @krhardy !!
  6. Had my 2nd Moderna poke yesterday. Woke up feeling like New Years morning, x 2. Fever, whole body aches, headache.....But, this grass isnt going to cut itself, and my wife won't quit calling me a baby....so time to pop some Advil and get moving...
  7. From a big picture, business stand point....I completely understand and agree with them. From a personal, parent of a 9 and 5 year old stand point.....Im not sailing without my kids. I sure hope they make considerations for parents with smaller and smaller windows of opportunity to use our FCC.
  8. Im going with the DBP and all adults in a cabin having to purchase. My wife simply cannot drink enough beverages in a day to make it worth it. If I want it, there is the option for her to get the lower package, but she doesnt drink soda....drinks one coffee per day.....and that package isnt worth it either.
  9. youre right....I had to look it up on the CDC website. Its based on an Influenza spread study in 2017.
  10. Anyone taking bets on @Matt being on the first sailing?
  11. Allure of the Seas, from Ft. Lauderdale, April 10, 2022......fingers and toes crossed for the next year. This is the 3rd booking.....
  12. My wife speaks Spanish as her 1st language, and I tell ya.....the sayings that I learn are always entertaining, never ending, and spot on....lol
  13. Statistics? How many cruises go, unchanged and safely, during Hurricane season vs. how many get changed and/or canceled.
  14. UPDATE: My awesome TA, Kelley, with MEI is looking into it. She suspects they did an internal audit and found the taxes and port fees werent calculated correctly, and corrected it. We shall see!
  15. I got three emails overnight saying my FCCs from my April canceled cruise have been refunded? Anyone else get anything similar? I never requested anything or made any moves with them.
  16. Well, I'm fine with FCC. Im not hung up on getting my money back. So I'll make final payment. Understand others wanting money back...it's all personal preference.
  17. Im in similar situation. Sailing March 07 out of Canaveral. Im going to make Royal cancel on me. If they cancel, they give me 125% FCC or my money back. Im in a pretty good situation, I think. There is still a chance, based on what becomes known about what the cruise will look like once they announce everything, that we cancel ourselves...but we have until 48 hours before it sails to make that call. I prefer to wait and see how it shakes out. That being said, I dont think it will sail, as is. I think that cruises scheduled for the first half of 2021 will nearly ALL be altered in some way (length and itinerary, ship). Once they start sailing again, ROYAL has said it will be select ships, on shorter itineraries. That puts my week long sailing on Harmony in jeopardy, early in the year. So, again, they will either cancel on me....or give me options.
  18. Wow.....guess I shouldve put a trigger warning on there? Just thought it was fascinating and people might be interested to know that its being looked at and talked about....as it relates to flying to cruises.
  19. Interesting... https://www.usatoday.com/story/travel/airline-news/2020/10/15/coronavirus-study-finds-jetliners-safer-than-operating-rooms/3665469001/
  20. Im no anti-mask guy....but I have my limits, and i think its probably having to wear one while hanging out on the pool deck. Like others have said, I get it....they cant risk an outbreak, but man...pretty hard to relax with constant reminders not to.
  21. HONESTLY, not trying to be negative....just trying to be realistic, keep myself grounded, and following the bread crumbs to get some sort of an idea of what could possibly happen. If youre looking at where we are now, when cruising may start, and what they have told us will happen when it does...it leads ME to think theyre going to scrap or alter the existing schedule for a while. Theyve said it will be a slow process, not all ships will sail, and those that do will be on "short" sailings. Who defines what short is? 10 day sailings, I think are definitely out. Is 7 short? not when compared to 3,4, and 5 day sailings. I think that is what they would start with. I would think, in order to maximize the amount of people cruising, since they are reducing capacity, they will use the larger ships for short (3,4,5 day) sailings involving the private islands....then over time (months) they will begin stretching itineraries and bringing more ships into the fold. I suspect, those of us booked on the ships that are sailing, will receive some sort of option when all this shakes out. Something to the effect of "your itinerary has changed, so we would like to offer you the CHOICE to stay on the sailing, or receive FCC". I dont think theyd want to completely scrap the guest list and rebook all the way. They already have a head start.
  22. Let me be clear....I DO think there will be cruising in 2020. But I think the schedule will be blown up, and remade for the foreseeable future. Anything on the schedule for the next 6 months to a year is likely to be written in pencil....hope I'm wrong.
