Blondie511 Posted June 17, 2019 Report Posted June 17, 2019 Never seen a post before about how TINY the showers are on the ships! I am on Adventure of the Seas right now and it is so tiny my arms hit the walls while I wash up! I am a smallish 5’6” female at 130 pounds. I do not know how larger people do it. I have a photo of how much room there is. Will post when internet allows. Don’t worry, I am fully clothed in pic. LOL.!!! GlowTheWeird, Fuzzywuzzy, ChessE4 and 1 other 4 Quote

marti314 Posted June 17, 2019 Report Posted June 17, 2019 Yes, this is how the cruise fits 4000 people in an area that would normally be approx 300 hotel rooms and keeps the prices reasonable given all of the other amenities included in the cruise cost. Quote
twangster Posted June 17, 2019 Report Posted June 17, 2019 It's an "efficient" shower. Just don't drop the soap... Bob_KY and RWDW1204 2 Quote

I prefer the doors, but older ships have the curtains. As the cruise director usually jokes, they can cling to your rear when you least expect it. You have probably seen the posts about bringing magnetic hooks to hang things in the bathroom or main stateroom, such as wet swimsuits, lanyards, hand-washed laundry, etc. WannaCruise 1 Quote
FoxboroCruiser Posted June 17, 2019 Report Posted June 17, 2019 Having lived with a curtain on the Empress last week, I'm really looking forward to a door on Adventure next year ;-) KristiZ 1 Quote
Clear Laker Posted June 17, 2019 Report Posted June 17, 2019 Just think, some people share the shower. Fuzzywuzzy 1 Quote
Rose City Cruiser Posted June 17, 2019 Report Posted June 17, 2019 Be thankful that it is not like some crew washrooms where the shower and toilet are in the same pod. princevaliantus 1 Quote
JLMoran Posted June 17, 2019 Report Posted June 17, 2019 But think about how much fun you can have pretending you're being beamed up by Scotty, and the shower water is the "snow" of the transporter effect! AJK, Fuzzywuzzy, ChessE4 and 1 other 4 Quote
JennyB Posted June 17, 2019 Report Posted June 17, 2019 just lather up the sides of the shower and twist around! All Clean!! FoxboroCruiser, melmar02, GlowTheWeird and 2 others 1 4 Quote

suna Posted June 17, 2019 Report Posted June 17, 2019 I never did it but some people use the gym facilities since it's way larger than the one in the room.... JennyB 1 Quote
Hagar Posted June 17, 2019 Report Posted June 17, 2019 Affirming my infinity for the newer ships (or a Jr. suite on the older ships) since I am truly built like my namesake (the cartoon Viking) JLMoran, WAAAYTOOO, JennyB and 2 others 5 Quote
WannaCruise Posted June 17, 2019 Report Posted June 17, 2019 At least the shower capsules are bigger on the newer ships like Symphony. I don't mind them (and like that they are enclosed with a door) but totally get what OP is saying. I am a small person like OP and they just fit me. Quote
monctonguy Posted June 17, 2019 Report Posted June 17, 2019 they sure are...I remember my first cruise on Majesty..couldn't believe it...now it just seems the norm(I haven't been able to afford a JS or above that have bathtubs)...... I do prefer the door to the curtain though....I am sure there are some ppl that cant shower all week...the pools and hot tubs are their way of getting "clean".lol GlowTheWeird and RWDW1204 1 1 Quote
FManke Posted June 17, 2019 Report Posted June 17, 2019 We have a Jr suite for the first time with a tub next cruise. Being 6'1" 260, maybe I don't have to alternate between showering the front and then the back, day to day. JennyB, WAAAYTOOO and RWDW1204 3 Quote

I wasn't aware that they offered that "type" of package. I always enjoy the Love & Marriage Show where couples talk about "sharing" the shower. Larry Muster 1 Quote
