smokeybandit
Why isn't this in my cruise planner? And will it be 30% off pre-cruise? Neesa, MaryS, RestingBird and 10 others 2

Happy Cruisers
No way in the world that "lifetime drink package" doesn't get cut out, or at least pared back, over time, for one justification or another. Buyer beware and get that commitment in an enforceable contract. You know, to the extent anyone was seriously considering buying this. tingtang, RCIfan1912 and RestingBird 2

Reminds me of when American Airlines sold (and eventually canceled) a lifetime first class flight pass. https://thehustle.co/aairpass-american-airlines-250k-lifetime-ticket/ RCIfan1912, USCG Teacher, DB Cooper and 3 others 2
Happy Cruisers
Yes! That is literally what this made me think of before I wrote my comment, @smokeybandit. Bob Crandall's handiwork. Companies in need of capital are more than glad to sell you a "lifetime" pass for something, then pluck it away from you years later - either directly or as part of a trip through the bankruptcy car wash (I think that's how AA did it back in the day, but that's been a few years) when times are better. AlmondFarmer
Is it true that in order for the lifetime package to work, the buyer must use the purchased cup? Bazza, RCIfan1912 and WAAAYTOOO

Think of it as a permanent Stanely cup winner. Good press for royal, taking pictures of people posing with and drinking out of a $100K cup. RCIfan1912
Honest question, do you think anyone at some point will actually buy this thing? I mean for real? RestingBird

I'm pretty certain there's some crazy rich fan on the inaugural sailing that will buy it. People are INSANE. I'm also thinking that if that cup is worth $100K, the real one is in the back somewhere and the display is just the replica. Well, if they will spend 80k for a week in the ultimate family suite, another 100k is not too big of a stretch. foxrunner
Wouldn't it be great if some wealthy soul bought the cup and then sold raffle tickets to benefit a charity! Come on RCBlog folks step up to the plate. We will all appreciate you! RCIfan1912 and RestingBird 1
ckruetze
Wouldn't most people with enough money to "just" buy the cup have enough money for Star Class and that includes the drinks anyway.
JBC
Nobody with the disposable income to buy this would. It makes zero sense. You can't even calculate the break even point when considering the free drink vouchers someone already gets with that many cruises, plus the time value of money factor. This is just an advertisement / marketing ploy to spur RC discussion. RCIfan1912
JFCruise
I would totally buy it, but since it only available on Icon and the prices for that ship are ridiculous, I'll pass. RestingBird and Shanethegriff 1
