Dburghardt Posted January 13, 2018 Report Posted January 13, 2018 Hi All Before every cruise I put together a pre-cruise play list and CD for everyone in our party. I’m currently in a rut and need help from the best cruise blog group in the world. What are your favorite songs, artists that get you pumped for your upcoming cruise. Looking forward to creating RCCL blog play list. Dan Placerville CA cruiselife 1 Quote
twangster Posted January 13, 2018 Report Posted January 13, 2018 Mine includes some Bob Marley and Jimmy Buffett. Do you use Pandora? Use a song on your current play list to create a station and see what they play. Quote

RCVoyager Posted January 13, 2018 Report Posted January 13, 2018 Gaelic Storm.. always. If you've never checked them out, do yourself a favor. Wonderful for all ages. An absolute party of a band. Quote

It costs about $20 to see them in most places. They're the only band I know of where every member comes out for a meet and greet after the show. They stay until the last fan leaves. Truly unique. My family had never heard of them. My brothers and I met them on a cruise (Barenaked Ladies in 2007). Now even my parents, in their 80s love them. Quote
Matt Posted January 15, 2018 Report Posted January 15, 2018 I came up with a list a number of years ago: https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/2011/07/09/our-favorite-cruise-music-mix Dburghardt and accio7 1 1 Quote

UkuleleCruiser Posted January 15, 2018 Report Posted January 15, 2018 My brother wrote a song about cruising that I consider to be mandatory pre-cruise music. Give it a listen, and give my brother some love on Youtube. joost and Sweety 2 Quote

LetsTryThisPlace Posted January 25, 2018 Report Posted January 25, 2018 My wife got me hooked on Orinoco Flow (Sail Away) by Enya sounds so good lol. I also would suggest some steel pan (that's the Caribbean sound you hear at many ports.) Quote
LetsTryThisPlace Posted February 12, 2018 Report Posted February 12, 2018 I forgot about a local song that I think is a fun song. Will be the song I'll have on repeat on the way there. Matt Brown - We're on vacation. It's an upbeat and fun song. Quote

RestingBird Posted February 12, 2018 Report Posted February 12, 2018 There are 4 or 5 Zac Brown Band songs, some Jimmy Buffett, Last Ride In by Green Day, a couple Tim Armstrong solo tracks, and a few instrumentals by The O.C. Supertones. Quote

accio7 Posted February 13, 2018 Report Posted February 13, 2018 To add to the list: Come Sail Away by Styx Beyond the Sea by Bobby Darin Captains and Cruise Ships by Owl City Kokomo by the Beach Boys Quote
cruiselife Posted February 13, 2018 Report Posted February 13, 2018 I'd probably have to go with some kind of music on the steel drums or some reggae. I never quite feel like I'm on a cruise until I hear some steel drums or reggae playing by the pool with a tropical drink in my hand. Outside of those types of music I'll second the person above me who said Kokomo by the Beach Boys. Hard to beat that one. In terms of getting excited for a cruise I also recommend YouTube videos from your the ship you're going on and the ports you're going to. I tend to watch them by the hundreds leading up to a cruise and also to check out other cruises I may want to go on. Quote

That's All I Need - Dirty Heads The Boys of Summer - The Ataris I'm Free - The Soup Dragons Love Song - 311 I'll need to check out some of the other suggestions here to hopefully find some new additions. I figured they may be a little outside of what others listen to. I have always been a little more progressive in my tastes but I like to share and I appreciate all music. Quote
