  1. If you are booked through MEI, there are sometimes group hotels for pre-cruise. Being the planner I am, I like to book my own as a safety option in case nothing comes up. For this cruise, since we are on the 2 day sailing prior to the group, we have booked our own at Homewood Suites. When it comes to other hotels in the area, we have stayed at Staybridge Suites and found the accommodation quite nice.
  2. We just got off Odyssey yesterday and this was one of the most frustrating things. Our chairs were zip-tied as described and it made them very uncomfortable.
  3. Here is what i posted earlier today on Facebook: Captain has informed us that Odyssey has passed through the front that gave us 6-7m waves and 50kt winds. While in the windjammer we had several times where the ship listed and carts rolls free and trays of water glasses slid to the floor. During breakfast in the MDR on deck 3 there were a few occurrences where the waves were hitting the ship over the windows. Some of the bottles in the pub took a dive too. Captain says we’re all real sailors now.
  4. Here is the day 2 / day 3 cruise compass with the details you’re looking for cruisecompass day 2-3.pdf
  5. We fly out tomorrow night. It appears that the rain storms and flooding have impacted several of the ports we are scheduled to visit so we need to be prepared for potential change.
  6. Our son and his fiance were on that sailing and she was among those who got sick. She has gotten antibiotics from a doctor since she got home and is only now ( a week after disembarking) starting to regain appetite. Not a good situation.
  7. Same here. Got our check in done last night and we are anxiously counting the days until we fly to Rome!
  8. 60 days! We are beginning to get very excited about this one!
  9. Itinerary: Feb 7 - TAMPA, FLORIDA Feb 8 - SEA DAY Feb 9 - GEORGE TOWN, GRAND CAYMAN Feb 10 - SEA DAY Feb 11 - BELIZE CITY, BELIZE Feb 12 - ROATAN, HONDURAS Feb 13 - COZUMEL, MEXICO Feb 14 - SEA DAY Feb 15 - TAMPA, FLORIDA
  10. Itinerary: Feb 16 - FORT LAUDERDALE, FLORIDA Feb 17 - PERFECT DAY AT COCOCAY Feb 18 - SEA DAY Feb 19 - FALMOUTH, JAMAICA Feb 20 - LABADEE, HAITI Feb 21 - SEA DAY Feb 22 - FORT LAUDERDALE, FLORIDA
  11. Cruise planner started populating on the weekend for my cruise and I have already had a price decrease on a cabana.
  12. True enough and yet it has an excursion listed as does the stop in Jamaica. We are primarily looking for Coco Cay as we have people in our party who would benefit from the accommodations of a cabana and want to get the best price / location we can.
  13. We just booked an Air BnB / Hotel in Rome for pre-cruise in November and they offer a private car service for 150 euro. Sounds a bit spendy at first but some quick research showed it wasn't out of line for the market. My advice? Check to see if your accommodation has any sort of arrangements.
  14. To be fair, we have based our research on a similar time frame this year instead of next. Air 2 Sea is always a good consideration, and we will investigate. Travelling to a US airport tends to not be very economical for us in our searches for US ports because of the time, distance and weather factors. It may be a different story for Europe in summer. We also just learned that Iceland Air while a great cost is a bit of a unicorn in how they ticket their flights. Usually, when we book (even with Air2Sea) the Locator ID provided is active within a few days on the airline site for seat selection and other items. Iceland Air does not activate until 'ticketed' which happens for them when they are paid in full which is not the case for Air2Sea.
  15. Booked this when it was first announced but we are 50/50 on whether we will be going. First glance at potential flights makes this a tough sell.
  16. We have a cruise Feb 2025 and I am trying to keep an eye on when excursions and such are posted to CP so I can get items at Perfect Day and Labadee. How far out do they usually load this? Anyone have a cool automated way to watch for it? Thanks
  17. Did this on Harmony in Feb. It was about 20 people, 2 long tables with 2 chefs leading. I found it pretty much in keeping with what I would have expected. I also thought that the quality of the ingredients was very good, and the quantity of sushi I made and ate was certainly worth the cost of the class.
  18. We recently had this same situation. We had My Time for our cruise departing this weekend and had booked all of our meal times when they became available on cruise planner. A week ago we got cancellation emails for all our reservations and when we looked it was because we had been changed to Early seating. We did have our TA confirm too that the change had happened. I can't tell you if we were passed over at any time but I can say we did get the change we had been waitlisted for.
  19. We are booked for this too. So excited for our first TA! BTW, there is an FB group for this search "Odyssey of the Seas Transatlantic November 3rd 2024"
