“I Dream of Genie” – Star Class - Harmony of the Seas – 03/10/19-03/17/19

Oh my gosh, how beautiful! You must feel like a princess! And here i am just trying to justify trying to fanagle a JS or GS someday - but I'm VERY happy for you and am really enjoying following along! I like the little desk cubbies (odd thing to pick out probably).  The windows are amazing!

Love, love, loving this live blog. New to Royal, but have cruised Disney 3 times. 4 kids are older now and time for a change. We sail on Symphony in the 2 bedroom ATS on 3/30 along with my 2 nieces. Your blog has been soooo informative for planning as I’m a super planner! Haven’t heard from our genie yet which is making me nervous, but we just upgraded to the ATS from Sky class about 3 weeks ago. I’m hoping this week. In the meantime, I’m enjoying following along on your trip!!

Beautiful...most definitely.  Princess, yes. The two kids down below definitely takes a bit away from the dream 😆

We’ve also done DCL three times. IMO, it doesn’t compare to Royal. Especially not if you are comparing the DCL concierge vs. Star class experience. Royal wins hands down.

I’m trying to include as much of the star class/Genie experience as possible in this blog but let me know if there is something specific that you wanted me to find out 😊

Day 2 At Sea:

Beautiful morning this morning as I sit here alone (just the way I like it 😉) in the suite lounge/CK.

Hubby and kids are still fast asleep. Breakfast for one this morning consisted of the French Toast that has occupied my thoughts for a while now.  Starting off light and trying to not make the same mistake as yesterday.

CK breakfast menu. This doesn’t change throughout the cruise.8A95B43C-144F-4992-99FC-923C7F72A3EA.thumb.jpeg.408efc0bcf7f8e7f341c51d58d5e9b69.jpeg

Today we have a couple of activities planned. There is the CC meet and mingle, then we are going to head over to the C&A party. After that we are going to have a mini cabin crawl with a few friends from the FB group. This afternoon our Genie booked us a private escape room session (complimentary for star class) and tonight is formal night.  Going to be another busy day 😊

We did Disney concierge on our last cruise and were hooked! We knew we were ruined...lol. From the description, Star class seems way better. Can’t wait!  Nothing super specific I’m looking for other than that we are traveling with some other families not in Star and wondering how that will work. Hoping it’s not too awkward.

Depending on how many people we are talking about AND your Genie, it can work out just fine.

On 2 of our 6 Star Class cruises, we have cruised with "others".  One of the things that is included in your introductory email from the Genie is a line that tells you that your SC amenities are available ONLY to those persons traveling in SC.  I have no doubt that they mean it....BUT both times that I have been on a SC cruise with friends, the Genie did their very BEST to include them whenever they could.

For instance...when we went to dinner, the Genies both always made the reservations for the entire group.  Of course, those not in SC had to pay for their meals, but the Genies never balked at making reservations for everyone.  Also, when it came time to reserve seats for the entertainment events, they were also always included.  Now granted, on the first "friends" cruise, there were only 2 of the 6 of us that were not SC so it was fairly easy to include these 2 others...and on the second such cruise, there was only 1 person who was not SC.

Does your Genie have a right to say "no".  Absolutely.  Will they ?  Hard to say.  As long as you are not asking to have them join you in the Suites Lounge (we NEVER did that) or partake in any freebie food or drinks, I doubt they will say no.  If it is a very large group, then the Genie would probably have to decline to include them all.

I have found that it was helpful to forewarn the Genies that you have some additional people who may be joining you for some events.  It's easier that way than to spring it on them at the last minute.

I won!! First time! Not sure what to do with this?? 😆

I Guess you just need to go to one of the regular bingo sessions that happens everyday , you will get a package of regular and maybe  electronic cars. We did it once , it takes around 1 hour , can be fun but we never done it again (I think the price of the tickets are too much for what you are getting).

Cabin Tour!

”When I fall in love, it will be forever...”

There are 2 Star Loft suites on Oasis class ships. The configuration is different in both. One faces the flow rider and mini golf area, we have 1722 which faces the water.

This looks strangely familiar, can't figure out where I've seen this before? I remember, on Allure in January.

There are a few small differences, but basically the same.

We had the same experience with others not in Star class.  Our Genie always said hi to them when he saw them around the ship without us, asked them is they needed anything and if they wanted to be included in some of the stuff he had planned for us. The 2 not in star class were our son and his girlfriend so it was ok for him to always include them without asking us first.

Is Araceli doing food and beverages for your cabin crawl ?

No. It was just @bellemiche and another family. Very informal.

Trying to have that discussion with Hubby right now 😉

Star class is way better. The benefits far exceed DCL concierge benefits. And about travelling with non-SC guest..see what @WAAAYTOOO described above. That is the general consensus from what I know. It is also dependent on your Genie.

C&A Party:

Top cruiser had 1000 something points on this sailing. I don’t know how @twangster and @CGTLH remember the rest of the numbers here 😆

They had the typical speeches by the captain and crew members. There was also a mini aqua theatre show.

Currently sitting in our room and soaking it all in while we wait for our Izumi lunch delivery.
