The problem with lift and shift is that in many cases it has no value for higher value rooms with limited inventory. There’s no where for me to move my November sailing.

Although I remain optimistic that it will sail, I explored possible L&S for our Feb 2021 Star Class Anthem sailing from Bayonne. The only option in the system was the Enchantment out of Baltimore. The itinerary length was the same, the itinerary was different as was the room class. Certainly not an attractive trade for the cost. Perhaps there would be additional options, but I see no where to move that cruise at this point.

I'm an upstate New Yorker, that frigid air is every day life for a good two or three months.

We have been on this itinerary in February and thoroughly enjoyed it. In fact we have it booked twice more. I highly recommend it.

Also being from upstate NY I find Bayonne in February balmy ?. There was plenty of room at the sky bar on embarkation day ... while I relaxed with a cocktail wearing my shorts enjoying the ambiance ???

  3. From my perspective, the decision would be based on a priority of factors.

    1. If the ship is more of the destination, I would choose the Oasis class every time.

    2. If the ports of call are the priority, I would select the 9 day Explorer because I love Aruba and Labadee.

A Tie breaker would be number of sea days ... I truly enjoy sea days ....everything is open, including the casino.

Middle !  Avoid the corner GLS at all costs !

I have a corner on the Anthem deck 10 in February ... I wish I had seen this last year! ?

It was the idea of both aft and side facing balconies that lured us in ... that and all the documentation claims they are all the same size. In many ways, similar to the lack of official documentation about the pole in non-connecting owners suites on Oasis class .

    I still can't find it.  Maybe it's a browser thing.  UGH !

It could be, I was using Chrome on my desktop.

In desktop Edge, it is the old style site, in Desktop IE it is new and has the change date in the itinerary window.

On my phone (Android Chrome) it is the new style and the change  date is in the itinerary window there also.

I'm realizing this is way more interesting than what I was working on .... ??

What I have is a huge update and I hate it !  Once I am in a potential reservation scenario, I have no way to get out of it.  You used to be able to click on "Change dates" and it would take you back to the master list.  Now, there is no way (that I have found, yet) to get out of the cruise you are in.  Total PITA

I found the "Change Date" selection on the itinerary/Promos and Offers screen. It appears the new path back there is to select "view itinerary details". Once you have advanced past Room Type, you either need to back page or select the logo where options will take you all the way back.  I kinda miss the old way also.

  7. Certain elevator frustrations:

    1. Waiting for an extended period for an elevator while you watch the entire bank of cars move in ways that make little sense. e.g. waiting to go down while watching elevators stop on the floor below you and reverse direction at the same time empty cars from above pass by ??

    2. The insistence of some passengers to push their way onto an elevator before those exiting can get off, although they try valiantly and, sometimes, unsuccessfully to depart.

Honorable Mention: the individuals who seem to believe that the elevators are a good place to leave their empty Windjammer-to-go dishes.

  8. In many ways, I would welcome "Social Distancing" (Odd term, should be considered an oxymoron  ... but I digress ....) in some venues that are currently a bit crowded. Others are already set up that way, or mostly set up that way. Coastal kitchen on Oasis class, 270 tables on Quantum class, Specialty restaurants all are close to having 6 ft separation already. In the MDR, it would be a welcome change on those that are packed a bit too tight currently. Theatre seating could be a challenge, but it would be nice to have some elbow room!

    ... people who are anti-cruise  ...

It seems that there is a time honored tradition of people being negative about things they don't understand or,  potentially, know anything about. I'm not sure what drives it, but the negative reactions come from a truly diverse crowd. Mention a cruise, and, unless a fellow cruiser is involved,  the response is immediate: "Floating Pastry Dish .. " ?? (Yes, I know the actual term,  but I refuse to write it ?... and 'Pastry' remains best autocorrect yet on this board)

Like so many things, I think it is a case of legend always seems to take precedence over fact.
