Ha, Ha--Ours are already printed and with my copies of documents that I always take on every cruise!  Examples includes receipts of all my on-board purchases, shore excursion information, copy of my insurance plans, etc., etc. My phone goes in the safe when I get on the ship--I am unplugged and relaxed!

Often many people are slow and fumbling with all the electronics. I have never had check-in last longer than five minutes for any cruise because I am always super prepared!

With the exception of being unplugged, you're clearly my soul mate. 😂

I did this for one or two cruises then realized it was not needed (obviously if it makes you feel safer and easier about the trip, do it!). But I now have folders in my phone email app for each cruise, all purchases, third party excursion confirmations, the most updated invoice for the cruise itself, and a screen shot in my gallery of the boarding pass. I DO print that one page of the E-docs with the list of times and ports just to hang up in the cabin... but that's the only paper I'm carrying into the terminal other than my required Identification documents and cash!

Then you haven’t been looking!

I'm guilty of that... we get to the port so early I don't have many people to look at, lol.

We also still do print our set sail passes for some of the various reasons mentioned above. We like having them inside the main passport page. After that, for stuff like muster, I do use my phone and the paper copies wind up in the trash. Whatever works for everyone.

That was my point.  Many people, including myself, use a printed copy of the pass.

Digital is more than fine.

I just posted this article yesterday that is appropriate for this question: https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/2025/03/05/reasons-add-royal-caribbean-boarding-pass-apple-wallet

I can't seem to get the Apple Wallet to work on my Android phone.

So I just print it out and have all my documents ready as hard copies in hand when we arrive. No hassles at all.

Read the article and, for those times you indicate you had to go get a printed pass, why not already have a printed copy with you???  Is printing it out such a huge inconvenience versus having to go get it done at the pier?!

I’ve never once seen anyone use the printed out version.

I do all the time…never have used my phone.  But I am also not of the tech generation so paper is my go to safety zone.

Apparently if I had continued reading this before quoting @Ryan79 I would have known I was not alone!  Not that I thought I was anyway!  Yay for printing out paperwork! 📋
And not that this has anything to do with this post but it does have to do with phones…my android (moto z4) sadly is not compatible with the recent update of my Dunkin’ app!  I have $38 in my app and cannot use it because I can’t get it on my phone anymore! 😢  Hopefully Dunkin’ customer service will be easier to reach than Royal!  😆

Technology, bah! Humbug! The scanner at Lowe's can never read an e-mail barcode for an in store online purchase pickup.

The check in scanner at Labcorp offices struggles to read the barcode when I check in for an appointment.

Reading boarding pass QR codes from 3 different cruise lines at 2 different ports has been hit or miss.

Give me paper or give me death!!!!!

Same with flying for me.  When I check my luggage in, I print out boarding passes.  Airline’s ink & paper🤷‍♀️.  Yes I do have all my passes in my Apple Wallet too.  Watching people fumble around on their phones getting to the pass, holding it up to the scanner correctly, I hold out my paper pass & go.

For a while I had to use the mobile boarding pass for United as the printed one wouldn't scan. Then one day the TSA agent told me that you shouldn't print United boarding passes until 4 hours before your flight as they had seen that issue a lot. Since then I haven't printed any airline boarding passes.

You can just screen shot it on your android, it saves as a picture in your gallery and easily accessed when ready to show it

But then I have to turn on the phone and wait for it to boot up and then type in my 16 bit encryption code and then go to the gallery and scroll to find the correct pic.

Why do all that when the hard copy is already printed out and in my hand for them to scan? It is just way easier to have them scan the hard paper copy.

I am pleased some folks have perfect results reproducing their setsail pass on their cell phone.  On our most recent cruise aboard Navigator, the app was not at all cooperative.  Our printed setsail passes were in my pocket and quicker than we could fiddle with our phone, or the agent tell us where else to try, I handed the printed copies to the agent and we were whisked aboard.

Printed documents... I never leave home without them!😁

Belt and suspenders - that's me too!!! Copies of everything in a folder, screen shots of the set sail passes, just in case! I don't unplug - DH does, he uses an old phone so he can access email & FB if he wants, and the RC App - but no one can call him - but since I have a daughter & 92 yo mother, I want to be accessible, just in case

I have completely given up and deleted Royals app on all my devices. It’s just plain too much for them.

That being said, for all you app embracers: printing your set sail pass is just the step you take before printing your luggage tags. ‘Cause nobody's printing luggage tags from that stupid app.

Well, I guess if you keep your phone off, it's a hassle. I already have my phone on, and usually have the picture of the boarding pass up on my screen while waiting to board.

Again, don't use the app... a simple screen shot will always pull up on the phone even with no signal.    The only reason I don't print them anymore is that I hate paper... I hate having stuff in my pockets, having to dig  through my backpack or whatever to find it, I always have my phone in my hand

I agree, IF you have your phone ready & boarding passes on screen, it’s very quick & easy.  The problem I encounter is that MANY people are not ready.  They are watching Tik Tok, YouTube, streaming a movie, watching cat videos & THEN when they finally look up and see it’s their turn, fumble around trying to pause what they’re watching & pull up the passes.
