Snotarni
We just checked aboard Mariner and we were told they stopped tracelets as of today. "Life moves pretty fast. Ampurp85
Maybe because of the need to have negative covid test. Or could it be that your sailing capacity is super small? Snotarni
twangster
Perhaps with the requirement to be vaccinated if over 12 they determined they weren't required. Snotarni

Or data gathered suggested the tracelets weren't working as expected, or they were working too good, and the data shows that there are more cost efficient ways to contact trace. They've been using them for months and months in Singapore. You would think if they learned lessons that suggested any of that they never would have implemented them here. Singapore lessons learned on cruises are going to be a lot different than on NA cruises.

For the purpose of tracelets? In fact tracelts must have been successful in Singapore given they even tried using them in the US.
CruiseGus
had them on Ovation last week and the concept made sense to me maybe the supply is limited like everything else

It's possible RC found that the biometric tracing was just as effective, so no need to continue with the cost of tracelets.

Flowrider
I was on the first Indy cruise. Gotta admit that we gave up on wearing them. They told us we couldn’t get them wet and we literally spend all our time in pools, hot tubs, flow rider, slides…. Maybe if they had a benefit to the user, like opening your cabin, charges to your account, etc Tanner

Matt
I'm hearing from Royal that tracelets will be offered on Spectrum and Quantum while in Singapore, due to government requirements. On other ships, tracelets are not being used in favor of contact tracing through CCTV cameras. Royal uses special software that takes a bit longer (~15 minutes) to process contact tracing using video instead of tracelets (near instant), but at far less of a cost and with very similar results.
