Nate Y Posted July 22, 2021 Report Posted July 22, 2021 I started playing myVEGAS games on PC and mobile when I saw Matt's video on how to get a free cruise. Shortly after I started, the free cruise rewards were always sold out until they were taken down completely, but there are still rewards for low percentage discounts, onboard credit, and casino freeplay available. I recently used the 10% off wildcard discount to book a cruise in January, but it comes with the slight drawback of having to use RC's internal travel agents instead of my own. I was also able to score some free and discounted drinks on my recent trip to vegas, and may be able to use it locally now they've added a bowling partner. Anyone else grinding away on myVEGAS primarily to take some of the sing off cruise prices? Anyone get a freebie before they were taken down? Its a pity the free ones are discontinued, I have enough credits now for what would have been two 4 day cruises. Quote
joberry57 Posted July 22, 2021 Report Posted July 22, 2021 I've always missed out on the free cruises. I did get a $100 OBC on my last cruise. Unfortunately they now require the sailing to be within 12 months and both of my upcoming cruises are too far out. Quote
Kayleigh Posted July 22, 2021 Report Posted July 22, 2021 My husband was lucky enough to "win" the "free" cruise. Granted this isn't the itinerary or ship we would like, but for the price it will be just fine (especially after this past year) When we called to book the cruise we asked about cabin upgrades. If we kept the inside cabin, we would have only paid about $98 (tax and port fees). We decided to upgrade to a balcony cabin and only paid $469! On our cruise last January, I had enough saved up to get a $50 on board credit (I think my husband did too and we were able to combine to get $100 OBC). I tried to get the $100 OBC for this cruise and unfortunately you can only redeem one benefit/person/booking. Nate Y 1 Quote
Nate Y Posted July 22, 2021 Author Report Posted July 22, 2021 Indeed, I was sad I couldn't get the casino freeplay on top of the 10% off. Grats on the free-ish cruise tho. Kayleigh 1 Quote
CrimsonCruiser Posted July 22, 2021 Report Posted July 22, 2021 I didn't have enough points before the freebie cruises were removed (thanks COVID) but I did get enough to add on $100 OBC which was great and I still have points left over. I haven't opened the app much since the pandemic, but I will get back into it now that cruises are coming back. I imagine the freebies might come back by 2022 when cruises are more back to normal. cdixon22 Posted July 22, 2021 Report Posted July 22, 2021 I have used the $100 on board credit reward on two cruises now. I just book online myself, follow directions on reward then once applied I transfer to my TA. I have had no issues, knock on wood. Quote

Wilson Posted July 22, 2021 Report Posted July 22, 2021 No free cruises, but have redeemed for about $800 in obc. Redeemed for several BOGO adult beverages, meals and attractions while in Vegas in May. Quote

I have received between 100k-500k Loyalty Points each time. I cycle through their other mobile apps such as Konami, Blackjack and Pop Slots. It is the easiest way to collect enough Loyalty Points for the $100 OBC voucher. CrimsonCruiser 1 Quote

Nate Y Posted August 13, 2021 Author Report Posted August 13, 2021 Surprised to see they now have tons of listings for free three day cruises out of California, though of course they are all sold out. Doesn't do me much good, but I hope someone else can grab one when/if they restock. CrimsonCruiser 1 Quote
MrMarc Posted August 14, 2021 Report Posted August 14, 2021 You pretty much have to check the rewards everyday. You can also join a group called MyVegas Friends https://www.facebook.com/groups/OriginalMyVegasFriends and follow the rewards refresh post. This is the second group of cruises I have seen post COVID. I've gotten 1 out of Galveston in December and one of the 3 day out of LA. There does not appear to be any pattern, so who knows when they will add more. I believe they may be planning to revive their rewards from Carnival and NCL at some point in the future, but I could be wrong. Quote
Chadster Posted August 14, 2021 Report Posted August 14, 2021 I've also been able to use the 10% and a $100 OBC reward. I took a break from MyVEGAS for a while, but now I'm back and continuing to play, and have a nice amount of reward points socked away for if and when new RC rewards come sailing along. San Diego Garrett Posted August 14, 2021 Report Posted August 14, 2021 Last week I won the $100 OBC which I put towards our November cruise. I had booked that cruise about 4 weeks before winning that prize. A couple days ago I won the 10% off prize, which I am putting towards our June '22 cruise. That cruise we booked a couple months ago. I'm still waiting for the confirmation on that one though. Crossing my fingers there was no fine print to deny that one. Quote

The reward has an expiration date (November 12 right now) and must be used within 30 days of the original reservation. There are also limits on combining it with some other offers. For example I cannot use it on a cruise I booked with a MyVegas reward. As with all rules though, your mileage may vary, but it has gotten much better since there is a specific MyVegas team within the Casino Royale team to work with the rewards. Quote

Once you redeem award you have 30 days to apply it to a new cruise. Usually sailing within 1 year. So, I book cruise and then redeem a reward right away. I just did 2 of them this week. Quote

I just meant you can redeem for both...getting one doesn't preclude you from getting the other. I'm calling tomorrow to put the 10% on one upcoming cruise, and the OBC on another. Quote
Chadster Posted August 18, 2021 Report Posted August 18, 2021 By the by...does anybody have any experience with getting MyVegas points refunds after a cancellation? I know that customer service was doing them for the cruises RCCL cancelled in the Dark Times, but just curious if plans were to change and I had to cancel, are they as receptive to the refund requests? Bob Burd Posted October 23, 2021 Report Posted October 23, 2021 Looks like they are gone at the moment. But if you missed it and want one. I would check almost hourly as a lot of time they open up again once they initially put it out there. I snagged one the last time months ago and my cruise is Dec 1st on Adventure. Quote

AFAIK, you can only use one reward per booking, and the booking must be made no more than 30 days prior to redemption. As far as the cost of the OBC, I believe it's 100k, but I can't verify since there's not one currently available for purchase. Quote

San Diego Garrett Posted October 26, 2021 Report Posted October 26, 2021 Good question. It's been a couple months, so I cant quite remember, but I think it may have been around 100,000 points. Quote
cjacksonii Posted April 26, 2022 Report Posted April 26, 2022 Here's an interesting question! It does say in the terms and conditions of the rewards (I'm looking at doing the $100 OBC): "This reward applies to new individual bookings booked with Royal Caribbean's Casino Royale Reservation Center at 855-284-7463 Monday-Friday 8AM to 10PM EST and Saturday-Sunday 9AM to 5:30PM EST or contract your professional Travel Advisor and is subject to verification." I've bolded and underlined this to point out what I am focusing on. If this is the case, should that not mean that my travel agent should be able to get the $100 OBC added to my booking, even though I went through them and not Casino Royale as long as I am within 30 days of booking? Whomever holds the booking can apply for the $100 OBC to be added. My TA has applied this to one of my bookings before, you just need to forward them all the info. Quote
