  1. I was just on Oasis in November and loved it! Yes, she does show her age (ie rust in some spots, paint chips, color fading), but overall she was in great shape!! As someone else said, decor in the rooms is dated. We loved Aqua 80 and the BBQ joint (extra money). The slides were in great shape, we rented a casita which was AMAZING, and everything was clean! Don't let age get you with this ship!
  2. Trust me, I'm a little nervous about this! We typically cruise out of FL and we always fly down the day before. All aboard seems to be 2:30 and my plan (hubby doesn't know yet), is to be on the road between 6-7 to give us enough time (hopefully). We wants to drop our daughter off to my in-laws that morning but I'd rather have them pick her up from daycare on Friday and spend the night so we don't have to rush around the morning of. We are also leaving on Saturday so I'm hoping traffic isn't too bad I'm very excited to go under bridge (geeky, I know). We are on Indy which I know is a somewhat smaller class ship.
  3. Thank you for this info! With my BIL and SIL traveling with us, I think we can split the cost of parking! I'm more curious to know what the weather will be like leaving NJ until you get farther out to sea.
  4. Thank you so much!! I cannot wait!
  5. We finally booked our next cruise to Bermuda next May/June!! We are so excited as this is a port we have never been too! My brother-in-law and sister-in-law will be joining us too (and we will be kid free!!!)! It's nice too because we live in NY and we are hoping to drive (5.5 hrs) or fly (about 1 hr 15 min) the day of! With all this being said, spam me with activities/excursions to do and places to try food and drink! We will be on Independence which we have been on before! Also, for those that have gone out of NY/NJ, what is the weather like until you get farther out to sea? Thanks everyone
  6. We were on Oasis in November and we love it! I agree the ship does show her age, but the staff and RC are amazing with keeping it in good shape!
  7. IMO hideaway is not worth it! My husband and I were there in November and while we are young (37 and 40), we really hated the party scene. We were at the far end of the beach and could still hear the thumping music and horns going off. Call us old and party poopers but we cannot hang like we used to (we also have a 2 year old daughter that soaks up our energy (in a good way). If you're looking for some nice spots, chill island and south beach are pretty awesome! If you want to splurge, I'd recommend Coco Beach Club. You can find videos of both places on YouTube and make the judgement call for yourself! We love CocoCay and make sure it's a stop when we cruise!
  8. If you go here: https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/cruise-compass?ship=276 you can search by ship. Hope this help!
  9. We booked on on Oasis last week and on our ship I think there were only 4 or 5 that looked out the ocean. If you want an ocean one, you need to go to the Lime and Coconut (or it was that bar on Oasis) right when it opens at 8. My husband and I walked around on embarkation day and picked our top 3.
  10. For our Oasis cruise in November, entertainment opened up about 30 days out.
  11. We paid our final balance back in August and in the email she said she added the extra $100....I may have to reach out to her soon.
  12. Our cruise is only 3 days so hopefully it will show soon!
  13. Hahah oops!! My bad!! But boy do I wish!!
  14. We leave in 22 days for our cruise. When we paid our final balance, our TA graciously gave us an additional $100 OBC. Is it "normal" for the OBC to not show up on our cruise planner? If it makes a difference, we used a TA from MEI (AMAZING BTW). I just want to make sure it's there or will show at some point. What happens if it doesn't show once we are on the ship? Is this something we can discuss with Guest Services? TIA
  15. Here is what I found on Google: [email protected] and/or call us at (866) 592-7225 to confirm your needs.
  16. Could you rent a scoot for a local lions club? You can also email special requests to someone at RC (I'm sorry the email address is blanking in my mind righ tnow).
  17. Me too! I love a good IPA! I'm glad they have some IPA choices but I'm sad about the seasonal offerings......
  18. Silly question. We're going on Oasis in November and I'm curious if any of the bars have fall beers/drink specials
  19. Look back at passed compasses that are listed on here:https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/cruise-compass?ship=280 The 7N that is listed is from January. I doubt it's changed that much but it gives you an idea.
  20. I'm asking here since I did not receive any responses in the group I'm in on Facebook. Plus I tried searching here and I could not find an answer about the ice coffee. I'm about 77 days away from our cruise to celebrate my 5 year anniversary with my husband and being kid free for a few days (I'm beginning to feel anxious about this as we have only ever left our daughter overnight with her grandparents). This question is for the ladies, I need inspo for nails/pedicures for this trip! This question is for everyone and more importantly, is there a place on Coco Cay where I can get ice coffee and not have to walk back to the ship? This mom is ready to enjoy herself but may need a pick me up during the day! If it helps, my husband and I did book Hideaway Beach for the day!
  21. We love Marriott Harbor Beach Resort!
  22. It is but Uber also depends on the time of day/year/week your order your ride. Sometimes they end up being the same price....just my opinion and experience
  23. We are staying at the Springhill Suites in Dania this coming November! We got a room for $135/night (my husband works for a franchisee of Marriott so we get discounts). This hotel offers free shuttle services to and from the airport as well as a $30 shuttle directly to the port.
  24. My husband and I have always booked through RC ourselves. When my in-laws booked a family trip and used a TA, we (mainly my husband and I bc we have gone on a few RC cruises) had some trouble and had to explain a lot of things to her . When it came time to book our anniversary cruise, we decided to use a TA but go with MEI bc so many people from the blog use and recommend them! We love our TA from MEI and will definitely use them again and again!
  25. If you have Facebook, I would highly recommend joining Royal Caribbean Moms at Sea group! You can connect with other moms who are going on a cruise or who have cruised in the past with kiddos! I love this group and have gained so much!
