Do we know how close the ship is to being finished?  March, 2022 isn’t too far away and I would hate to schedule a cruise on our spring break and the ship being delayed. Thanks.

Never mind. Just read @Matt article. Looks like the ship is finished and ready to go!

You beat me to it with your edit.... ha ha

Though I thought the Chinese are big spender - Top shelf liquor, gambling. ?

When the NCL Joy came out as a China-market ship…the casino was tripled in size. Then when they decided to bring her back to the US market, they had to renovate the new ship to remove most of the casino. What a waste.

Gambling for sure but I've heard bar sales are pretty slow in China.  Very few would consider a drink package, bars rarely have a line, bartenders standing around with little to do sort of thing.

One issue faced by cruise lines in China is breaking the stereotype that cruises are just for gambling.  The concept of cruising for a vacation has been hard to put forward but Royal was making headway in this area with an increasing Chinese customer base that was booking Royal in other regions having experienced the product in China.  Guests were beginning to see cruising as more than just gambling.

Crew rumors are cheap and easy to come by so I found it interesting but never imagined it would come true so quickly.

Our NextCruise rep from last week kept goading us about needing to do Wonder and we said it would never happen because we weren't traveling to China.  She told us, "You never knowwwwww!" 😂

Our Genie also told us about the lifting of the B2B restrictions for the kids and I didn't want to believe that as a rumor either.

I always try to consider the source, but I guess hearing it directly from a crew member is a better source than someone who says, "I heard from a crew member that..." on an internet messageboard.

Just my opinion which means little 😂 but I think Wonder should stay here and send China an older Oasis class. Afterall, the states are the loyal customer base and deserve to keep the largest and newest ship!

Wonder was built for the Chinese market there are far less suites onboard Wonder than any other Oasis Class ship. I'm glad they are sending Wonder here for 2 months I just book my cruise on her but unless Royal is going to make changes and increase the number of suites onboard I think Wonder will eventually end up at her home port either in Hong Kong or Shanghai.

I can see that happening after Icon comes online.

Question.....I thought Wonder was an ultra oasis class ship but she hold less pax according to @Matt blog post than any other Oasis class ship. Is she just bigger in terms of space?

Updated version of the Fact Sheet:

@Matt, can we have a clarification on this?

What makes ultra class is the suite area. The Chinese are a caste system, the uber-wealthy do not mix with us commoners. I believe the area where the 2 story suites were is where the the new area is. It will have its own restaurant, swimming pool and bar. Perhaps someone else could clarify this

It's not for sale yet. Folks booked on the original Allure TA were told the dates changed and the ship was changing to Wonder.

It went on sale today, and yes it departs on April 20, 2022 and ends up in Spain.
