I’m flying in from ct/ny the Saturday before, was looking at airfare and it was pricey ($500+ RT)cause it is thanksgiving week, but last night, I found some $235 round trip , not sure if it was a glitch or what but I booked it! It’s across from the port, has a shuttle to the terminal (although we always Uber to get there early), has a nice pool area to relax, and if you traveling with a family of 3 or 4 can get a 2 BR suite for a decent price. smokeybandit Posted March 12, 2021 Report Posted March 12, 2021 I've got a room at the Radisson for my July cruise, should I be so lucky that it sails Edit: I forgot, it's the Country Inn, not Radisson. WAAAYTOOO 1 Quote
Bgmichigan Posted March 13, 2021 Report Posted March 13, 2021 We're staying at County Inn & Suites June 19 - June 21. Our cruise sails on June 21 Quote
GaryAA Posted March 13, 2021 Report Posted March 13, 2021 Homewood Suites (newer property) and Raddison (older property but nice pool & poolbar). Both have shuttles to the port. Quote
MAK Posted March 13, 2021 Report Posted March 13, 2021 I may try to camp at the Jetty Pier campground cabins. If I "mix" cruising and camping (two very different worlds) I'll let you all know how that went. I pack very differently for each... WAAAYTOOO and RickinSTL 2 Quote
jagnew Posted March 14, 2021 Report Posted March 14, 2021 To the topic of the space center, I'm been in Orland since middle school in 88 and had been to KSC once. We went for a school field trip last year, and if you have any memory or history with the shuttle program at all, I think that it is worth your time. Quote
GaryAA Posted March 14, 2021 Report Posted March 14, 2021 If you like beer, the Florida Beer Company is behind the Homewood Suites. They have tours and beer sampling. Nice little brewery. WAAAYTOOO and RickinSTL 2 Quote

I'm glad you booked it... Although this is a cruise line blog, people should know all the major carriers have gotten rid of change fees which in many cases could be cost $200 dollars per ticket. Now if your plans change and you need to change your flight you can without penalty and if the new fair is higher than the fair already paid you just pay the difference instead of the old why where you paid the difference plus the $200 dollar change fee. Customers can also do same day standby for free well, this option use to cost anywhere from $50 - $100 dollars depending on the airline. Quote
cman2020 Posted March 14, 2021 Author Report Posted March 14, 2021 I luckily got that $235 round trip flight. We were 2nd guessing our thanksgiving week cruise as it was gonna cost us $2800 bucks round trip for 4 just to fly to Orlando from the NY area. Pretty much saved the trip at this point ! Quote
smokeybandit Posted March 14, 2021 Report Posted March 14, 2021 What's the go-to shuttle company these days from MCO? I think the one I used last time I sailed out of Canaveral is out of business as I can't find any reference to it anymore. Quote

They have excellent reviews on TripAdvisor and across many other forums. In our personal dealings with them, they have always replied quickly and efficiently and their prices are very reasonable compared to other competitors. twangster 1 Quote
smokeybandit Posted March 14, 2021 Report Posted March 14, 2021 Thanks. I'll give them a look should my July cruise actually happen Quote
Floski Posted March 14, 2021 Report Posted March 14, 2021 Four cruises, four stays at the Radison. It's super convenient, and we like the layout. Excellent pool and pool bar. We park for the week, take the shuttle to and from the port. GaryAA 1 Quote

They sometimes have entertainment on the weekends at the pool bar. If you have a big family, some of their suites have two king beds and a pull out sofa. Quote

Daft question, is the hotel near the airport or the port, just starting to plan our 2022 cruise, like the look of Mariner going to Aruba Quote

SpeedNoodles Posted July 3, 2021 Report Posted July 3, 2021 Will an Uber or Lyft do such short trips (like from the Holiday Inn or Country Inn & Suites) to the Port? Quote
Ampurp85 Posted July 3, 2021 Report Posted July 3, 2021 @SpeedNoodles Yes, as most ride shares are typically waiting in the area. SpeedNoodles 1 Quote
