We are on board! This CRJ900 is small! Quite the challenge getting our carry ons to fit.

Remind me to tell you about my first flight to Luxembourg!

Side note....I now need to go to that lounge....Scotland just got pricier.

Checked into the H10 Metropolitan. Even though we all got some sleep on the plane, jet lag is hitting all of us pretty hard. It is hard to muster up the energy to go out right now. Only one of our rooms is ready so we are taking our turns to freshen up and get back out there. We booked identical rooms side by side. Pretty nice property. The room is a bit on the small size, but that is expected. There’s complimentary water, cookies, and chocolate. There is also a kettle and Nespresso coffee maker in the room.

That Airport lounge was NICE. Jeez, I thought it was the hotel at first.  Glad you got across the ocean with no issues...hoping the rest goes as smoothly!!

It was! In fact, we were talking about it on the plane and we would best describe it as a whole experience, which is exactly what I think Delta was going for when they created the D1 lounge. I definitely wish we had more time there.

Age is just a number... and caffeine helps.

Haha! You are right! Coffee was our first stop as soon as we ventured out! It only helped a bit. Overall we are still beat. It’s basically 2 nights with little sleep because we left the house at 6am on Thursday morning to catch our flight to JFK.

So glad you made it smoothly! If you have time we did a tapas tasting with Devour tours in Barcelona and it was amazing! I still dream about some of the tapas and wine we had during that tour.

I remember you did that. We have a food tour booked in Rome. We are so tired tonight that we are just going to grab some tapas close by and call it day.

Glad you made it with no flight issues! Enjoy your nap, and more exploring.

No nap for us, just Hubby. Freeloaders and I don’t operate like that. If we nap now, we won’t sleep solid tonight and we need to reset. So “powering through” as D17 calls it and after dinner.

Where did I leave off? Oh yes, checked in at 7:30am this morning and they had one room ready. We took it, freshened up, and headed back out to wander Las Ramblas around 10:30am.

Our main goal was to check out Mercat de la Boqueria. We have seen so many YouTube videos on this that we figured this would make a good place to grab a bite for lunch. We ended up trying a few different things but did not stay long, it was super crowded!

Don't you have the saying "You snooze, you lose!" in Canada? If he wanted a say he shouldn't have gone to sleep.

He forfeited his vote IMO. 🤣

We most definitely do! I say that to my kids and Grade 8s all the time!

The food in that food court looks very interesting !  Not sure how much I would eat but I would love looking at all of it !

I hesitated to eat a lot of the things that contained meat. Unsure of how safe it was. We were discussing this at dinner and I was in a hurry to get out of there since it was so crowded, but Hubby loved just looking at how colourful everything was, and how vibrant that environment was. So he was in the camp of “loved looking at it”. The fresh fruit in the stands were amazing though!

I am glad you made it safely and smoothly. That weather looks great.

Could not have asked for better weather. The next few days up to embarkation look dry and not stifling hot.

Dinner report: pizza/pasta/tapas won lol

We ended up at a place right next door to our hotel because we genuinely could not have made it any further. By the time we ate, everyone, except poor Hubby, was grumpy and tired. The food menu, while probably not too authentic, had something good for everyone. We got several things and shared it all.

It’s now 7:38pm here in Barcelona as I am typing this and we are off to bed! Looking forward to some solid sleep as tomorrow will be a full day. We have our private full day tour of Barcelona with LivTours. We are really excited for this as it will take us to Sagrada Familia and Park Güell.

I totally missed the fact that you were flying in the daytime. Yikes, that makes for a hard adjustment. The original flight I had booked didn’t leave until 9 pm ish making sleep a but more likely.

I always do international night flights. It seems to work better for the subsequent jetlag.
