She said she had 28 kids at one point and just “got down” to 25. No assistant teacher, just her. 🤯

That's just nuts! I mean, normal class size for me is about 28 kids, but I teach 13 year olds. 28 little ones, crazy!

For some of these prices on suites you could charter a private yacht or private jet to Europe for a vacation. They’re getting dangerously close to jumping the  shark with what’s a reasonable fare.

Sadly, that is the general consensus among the star class cruisers group.

@GatorCruiser and @OCSC Mike you guys are killing me here with these food & drink pics! Take me back to cruising!  First Mason Jar brunch photos and now two of my drinks on board! @recogneyes and I just had these exact drinks last week!

We sure did ..... and they were delicious.  This is not helping with the cruise withdrawal we are going through now is it?

Are you not out of your food coma yet?!

they just needed to be told 2-3 times before accepting that there was a difference between Sky & Star.

Hmm, that sounds borderline shenanigans to me! But inquiring minds want to know ... who had to tell them 2-3x? Please say you!

Edit: nevermind! That's what i get for engaging before reading the whole thread! @WAAAYTOOO knows what's what!

Yes. The play scape is on the other side where the second flowrider would be.

That’s a bummer. I love their being 2 especially on the Oasis class with all the people. It allows more time for the stand up only instead of having so much mixed wave.

Starting to slack on the food porn, sorry. Unless I want Indian food from WJ or we have plans, I think I’ll be eating ELF for lunch most days. Had 2 tacos & 2 quesadillas (with cholula chipotle of course).

Wife went to special order picky person pizza at Sorrentos (sauceless & well done, it’s actually good, kinda like crispy cheesy bread).

Lol, no, us poors can’t be bothered with what the elite are doing… The genie guarding the seats dealt with it. I mostly only heard “but we’re in a suite!”

Yeah, I won’t go on a rant about the FL education system but my wife is supposed to max out at 18 (she’s been a little over before but nowhere near 28). Pretty sure 28 in K violates state law.

Also 28 children is insane, like tiny humans that age require a lot of patience.

When I taught Pre-K (mixed 3 & 4 y.o.), we were capped at 15 and THAT felt like a lot when my para was out. I can't imagine double that with all the neediness of the littles. There is a severe lack of teachers right now - I've been doing a little subbing this year and I'm constantly bombarded with multiple requests every day.

Does Wonder only have 1 flow rider?

Yes, only 1.

An interesting observation that Hubby made last week on OA. He always thought that 2 flowriders would mean more stand up advance times. WN (July 2023) was when he really started to get into the flowrider. Since then we sailed OY, IC, and those only have one as well. He was pretty excited to go on OA with 2. Anyway, as it turns out, there is not much more advance riding time. He was rather disappointed. Most times, they ran one side boogie board, one side mixed wave. The lines were long on both sides. The only time they pretty much ran advance only was from 9-10:30am each day. So not a noticeable difference from ships with one wave. He actually said that his favourite wave so far is Icon, but we both realize that could have been due to reduced capacity on the inaugural.

Always amazes me how we “normal” people get that 28 kindergartners is too many in a classroom but “the powers that be” don’t. My last year teaching in FL, 1996, I maxed out at 31 first graders with a part time assistant. Retired now, after teaching in GA. Miss the teaching part and the kiddos but not all the other you have to  put up with now.
To all you teachers, bless you!  and retirement is wonderful!
Just went on 10 day cruise and looking forward to 2 more this year. Only one during peak “kids time” since we’re taking grands and great grands!

Decided to call an audible & skip Mexican night in the MDR. I would have gotten butter chicken that I’m sure is in WJ & there was even less than usual for my wife. She’s napping & we’ll worry about dinner later.

In the meantime I went back to ELF before they closed for more tacos (I still won’t eat the guac, aka green sludge).

Then got a lime & coconut on the way back to the cabin minus the souvenir bucket. Still not sure if I like this drink or not.

Yeah I noticed on Allure there wasn't really many advance only times, but when they did the mixed wave the boogie board people would be on 1 flow rider and standup on the other.  they would not allow people to just do boogie on either flow rider.  While you would get the chumps like me with the white bands trying to earn the blue band, that line would come and go.  they would give people 2 chances(1 turn) and if they didn't get the blue band that couldn't try again until the employees switched out(so like once an hour).  But the good news was it was open most of the day so gave plenty of ride time opportunity.

From what Hubby has told me, that seems to be the general rule they all follow. However, on OA last week, it was the white band for stand up.

Grey Goose sour from WJ bar. Normally comes in a rocks glass. Who knew I should go to the WJ for drinks?

My butter chicken pic won’t upload.

@Neesa & @Lovetocruise2002, just saw Vinay again. Told him the butter chicken was a little better in CK but still good.

Will try to upload dessert pics later. They look good.

Churros

They had warm freshly baked soft chocolate chip cookies in little dishes but can’t keep up with the demand, lol. Wife is patiently waiting to see if more are coming. This is as busy as I’ve ever seen a WJ & Wonder’s is large & well-designed so that’s really saying something.

I’m sure many of you reading would want no parts of the chaos but we have no plans for a while & my wife wants her cookies, lol, so no biggie to us.

Here’s a new one , 10 mins into show a triple alpha was called in hooked. Music stopped while announcement was being made but the skaters, the pros they are, kept going unfazed.

They didn’t flinch or skip a beat. I’m sure they rehearse that but it was still incredibly impressive.

We said that was our new favorite ice show the 1st time we saw it but after tonight I really think it’s on another level from the others I’ve seen.
