RCIfan1912
Hello normally I wouldn't bother with "next cruise" because like Matt says and I agree if you see a cruise you want to book at a price you want to book it then book it, don't wait. We are sailing Anthem the end of February next month and we have been waiting for 2025 cruises from NJ to be released which I guess will be the 1st or 2nd week on Feb. It might work perfect for this cruise to try next cruise. We will transfer any cruise to our regular TA we absolutely love. Can you add your TA at the time of using Next cruise? Isn't there a blanket next cruise program where you have 6 months to book the cruise? In your opinion is next cruise worth it, a good program in general? Any info on this subject would be great, any advice as I really know very little about it. Thank you.
Pattycruise
If your current cruise is with a TA you will continue to use then there is no need to do anything. The cruise will automatically be assigned to them if you do not have a TA or want to change them you tell next cruise and they will do a form. You can name your new TA when booking with next cruise or you can add your new agent in 30 days. You have 60 days to book your next cruise booking to keep the Onboard credit (OBC) portion, after 60 days you lose the OBC but the reduced deposit is still good for 10 more months. Traveling Mike
I like the Cruise Next because of the low deposit. I get to book a cruise or cruise booking for $200. That allows me to cancel my cruise for $200 if something comes up. Celebrity's program is even better because it only costs me $100, and you have 6 months to book the cruise. I like to have freedom of booking my cruise and use any travel agent I want in case I find a good deal with someone that is not my normal TA. I always make sure they do not assign my Next Cruise to my current TA. Then when I find the cruise, I want I can book with RCL or any travel agent by moving the booking to them. The last thing is the OBC is always nice to have. RCIfan1912, asquared17 and PPPJJ-GCVAB 2
Shanethegriff
Hey guys, can just clarify, please, are you saying you can just pay them a 200e deposit and not actually pick a cruise there and then and just select one at a later stage or what do you mean by the 6 month think and keeping OBC? A $200 deposit will get your a future cruise certificate. The ship and sail date can be picked later. You have 60 days to pick a ship and sail date in order to gain any of the NextCruise OBC offer. If you wait until day 61 to pick a ship and sail date you get no NextCruise OBC. Your $200 is applied to the ship and sail date to deposit the booking and make it a confirmed reservation. I would not recommend waiting until day 59 to pick a ship and sail date. If you want to get the benefit of the NextCruise OBC pick a ship and sail date by day 45 - 50 at the latest. You have one year to pick a ship and sail date. If you wait one year plus one day your $200 is lost and you have nothing. CrznTxn
If you use Next Cruise to book your next Casino comp cruise using a Casino certificate earned while on your cruise, you just need to fill out the paperwork and drop the slip off to Next Cruise. They will enter your information, charge your $200 deposit to the card you indicate on the form and send you a confirmation number to use when you call the Casino number to book. You get OBC based on the level of cabin you book. Also a new incentive they have for Casino cruise bookings with the earned certificate is if you now choose a GTY cabin you will receive an additional $200 free play for the listed person on the cruise certificate. Next cruise no longer books ANY casino bookings. As you said, all you can do now is purchase the open booking. I know you understand this....just wanted to be clear for others who may not know of the change. 1 hour ago, CrznTxn said: Also a new incentive they have for Casino cruise bookings with the earned certificate is if you now choose a GTY cabin you will receive an additional $200 free play for the listed person on the cruise certificate. I didn't realize this ! In the past, casino bookings were forbidden from using any kind of GTY cabin. Thanks for this info. amanalo217
If you end up booking a suite I don't think you get the reduced deposit anymore. Pretty sure I had to pay the difference between the $200 and the 10% suite deposit when I booked the suite. I book interiors with TA group rates which are refundable (but you can book them yourself as refundable as well).

But you can, or least I did a year ago, book a refundable deposit cruise at NextCruise. However, the OBC is reduced. Sometimes they also bump up the deposit from $100 per person to $250. Sometimes they don't. Royal is wonderfully inconsistent on so many things! The other thing about refundable deposits is that the price of the cruise increases. You need to watch that carefully as it may not be worth it to book refundable, especially at NextCruise. RCIfan1912

Booking a refundable deposit cruise is one thing. A refundable “book later” or future cruise certificate isn’t possible. JerryJessicaTx
You can also “double dip” on OBC’s, for instance we were on Harmony in January and I Booked a next cruise, at the time Royal was running the OBC promotion, so I was able to get the $225 OBC from the promotion and $200 from next cruise on a balcony room. ChristineA
Hi everyone, I just got off a cruise last week and put my $200 deposit at Next Cruise. The day after we returned home, I booked my free cruise with my 6500pts instant reward certificate from Casino Royale and also was awarded the $750 slot play. Today I received an e-mail offering me another $500 slot play, called Casino Royale and they added that to my account as well! My question is, can I see those free play credits somewhere on my RCCL account? I can see my on-board credits from booking with Next Cruise and I see the free play code on the receipt they sent me but I don't see it anywhere else on my app or web account. Also - when we get on the ship for the next cruise, will the free play automatically be on my account or do I need to visit the host or cage to get it "activated." Thanks everyone and happy cruising! If you can see your FreePlay and your OBC on your booking confirmation you have won half the battle! OBC should show on the webisite when you log into cruise planner IF you do not use your OBC prior to your cruise it will show up as a negative balance in your account on the app when you board the ship and connect to ship wifi. -$200 means you have a 200 credit.....when it becomes $200 balance owed it will show without any negative in front of the # Freeplay showing can vary but it will never show in your cruise planner or on your Royal app, it is a casino thing. For me, some cruises it is loaded onto my seapass card and I can see it when I log into the slot machine. Other cruises I do not have my freeplay loaded and I have to go to the CASHIER to ask them to look it up and load it (Do not bother with the host). Bring your booking confirmation showing your freeplay in case there are issues when you are onboard, if there are issues-then you go to the host and hope they can get it fixed. BTW-if you wanted your freeplay as chips you need to go to the cashier and ask, they will give you promotional chips. You can also split your freeplay between chips and slot money. Note: Slot play-a lot of the machines (not all) will not let you cash out the freeplay you download onto it to be able to use it on another machine. SOME machines will put the freeplay back onto your seapss card if you log out. Be aware of not putting large amounts onto a machine that you now decide "I want to change machines" but discover you are stuck there because you can't take your freeplay with you. Always look at the "credit" once you cash out and see if you left freeplay on the machine. ChristineA

ChristineA
Thanks @Pattycruise. Yup, I can see my OBC already and did the same on our last cruise last week so I just let them add it as a credit to my on board account when we got on the ship. The difference this time is I have a lot of slot play waiting for me and wasn't sure how to get it - cashier it is LOL!! Thanks for the tip to print out the booking confirmation - that's a great idea too! Happy cruising!!
mapleleafmonkey
Does anyone know if I can use two separate NextCruise certificates for booking one cruise? I have two for $200 each. They are both past the time where I can get the onboard credit. They both have to be used by August 2024. Can I apply them as $400 to a cruise I want to book for summer?
