Labadee Speedboat and Snorkle Tour during Pregnancy
Shanethegriff posted a topic in Shore Excursions
Hi guys, We have this excursion booked during our upcoming cruise. We have just found out my wife is pregnant, (first trimester). Is this excursion suitable or should we cancel? -
Any link to rhe hammock you bring? And I don't mean your banana hammock!!
-
I've never seen any ads on this page on my Samsung phone...

Hey guys, can just clarify, please, are you saying you can just pay them a 200e deposit and not actually pick a cruise there and then and just select one at a later stage or what do you mean by the 6 month think and keeping OBC?

Single travellers costs
Shanethegriff replied to Michael Flack's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
I know you're kind of raising a point here and while I don't have the answers, I know some people travelling solo create the booking for 2 travellers (for this reason) making up a second traveller who will be a no show. While you won't get double points for travelling solo, you'll save a bunch which can go towards another cruise! You also get the port fees and taxes refunded for the no show traveller. -
Regalia Fine Jewelry/HARMONY OF THE SEAS
Shanethegriff replied to Sasha's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
I purchased an Omega watch and saved over €2,000...I did my research though before making the purchase and new I was getting a good deal. I wouldn't feel comfortable purchasing gold and diamond jewellery on a cruise ship though without being able to compare like for like prices unless I was somewhat of an expert myself. -
Thanks @OCSC Mike just saved $30 from our original Black Friday price.

Sky class drinks rip off - so stupid
Shanethegriff replied to Timmy333's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
I'm sure they've worked it out that they would lose a lot more revenue if they gave free drinks in the Suite sun decks than the lounge... -
Wow! Nice savings there! Do you mind me asking what price you actually paid per person for the GTY? We got a GTY Suite for €1000pp Inc grats on our next Oasis sailing.
-
Our first cruise in Feb '23 we selected our Ocean View Balcony, we wanted a lower deck and mid ship. This time for our upcoming cruise in February again, we selected GTY Suite. It will most likely be a Junior Suite which means it'll be relatively mid ship. It may not be on the deck we would ideally like but the savings were €600pp (3 persons) than if we picked our own room. I'll be sure to post which room we get in the end and our experience once we're back.

Flight arrival time versus boarding time in Rome
Shanethegriff replied to Tuff Yen's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Where are you flying in from? It's always advisable to fly in the night before but at a minimum I'd fly in on the earliest flight to allow some leeway for any delays. Last thing you need is a delay/diversion or cancellation and have no alternative. -
One on the last night is plenty.

I'd have thought IPL would last one the duration of their cruise rather than wasting time with it on board...
-
I don't think it appears until closer the time, maybe around check in...I think there may be a post about it in the main forum...if I see it appear in the app I'll post it here. I think the bookings open up on 1st Feb as it says on RC website that they will open on 1st of month before cruise. I checked and they are not open now which only leaves February. I also think you might have to log into the website and select Entertainment from the drop down menu in order to book in advance as opposed to using the app...

I have Samsung smart tags on my keys and in my wallet (bulky in wallet but I usually misplace it). They work great for me. I left my jacket behind at a bar (had no idea which one) on a night out and was able to locate it via the tag the next day. The tag works off Bluetooth but it can "ping" off other people's devices to send you a location when you're out of Bluetooth range. I highly recommend them.

If the $79 is including gratuities, then yes, I haven't seen much cheaper and I constantly monitor it for my bookings (Oasis Class) in recent times. Not sure if it will be any different for different classes of ship. I believe $20 for Internet for one device is a good price. You'll find the biggest discounts where you purchase Voom for multiple devices under one name rather than a single device each.

Thanks again for the replies. I purchased it for the week in the end. We would rather be reachable in case of emergency. -
Voom Price Onboard? Oasis of the Seas
Shanethegriff replied to Shanethegriff's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Thanks for your reply, are those prices all in or is there a gratuity to add on? -
Hey guys, Any idea how much it costs for Internet packages onboard? We are considering paying for the week for one device just to be able to be contacted by family if necessary...but I'm sure 3 or 4 days would do us realistically...so do we pay for 3 or 4 random days onboard or a week now...all down to price really...it's currently on special but only saving about 50 bucks buy paying for the week.

Icon Deluxe Beverage package sale
Shanethegriff replied to foxrunner's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
The DBP is on sale at 30% off which is better than black friday but the Coco Cay discounts are less now than they were black friday. It was the same last year. -
Yea, that's exactly what I meant. I'm sure any TA will have some at least a couple of rough sea days but I'm sure some sailings are more prone due to season.
-
Would the seas generally be any calmer in either direction or based on time of year?
