New function on Royal's booking page

Recommended Posts

I just spotted a new function on Royal's booking page. It's a "write in" search box right up near the top of the page. I was sceptical but I asked it to find me cruises to Europe in June 2024 and it did.

I did try asking it to find me one-way cruises as that's something I'd like to see as a search option but, unfortunately, that overwhelmed it:

"We're sorry, but we couldn't find any results that match your search. Please modify your search and try again"

I started seeing that a week or two ago. Haven't used it but seems like it could be useful to some.

How about an option to sort by what *I* think is most relevant to me?

I saw the new sort feature. If you are logged in they will display recommended instead of low to high. It list cruises they think I would like based on my search history.

Yep, saw this one too. At least they haven't "enhanced" it by removing the other sort options altogether.

I have it on neither mobile or desktop... signed in and tried it not signed in. Weird.

Your browsers may be caching the page.  On a desktop, hold down Control while hitting refresh to force a re-read from the server.  If that doesn't help, then it's also possible the update is still propagating across redundant servers (either Royal's or a load-sharing company like Akamai)

Maybe say "repositioning "

Thanks. 😊 I expect that would work to an extent, but it's not quite the same thing because not all one way cruises are repositioning. Royal has quite a few of them in Europe where they have some ships that operate what could be described as an extended circular route, e.g. cruise 1 goes from Barcelona to Rome, cruise 2 from Rome to Athens, cruise 3 from Athens to Venice and cruise 4 from Venice to back to Barcelona.

The other new item on the menu is the "My Offers" button all the way to the right. For those like my wife who get Casino on-line only offers they show up here. Worked the other day and we booked a November cruise that we had been eyeing a few months ago. Booking on-line was really easy and we called before we booked and verified that this was good. These are very short window offers and we are always checking with this now.

Do those comp offers allow you to enter a next cruise reservation # if you had one?
