Flight was hands down, the best Royal Caribbean original production. We have now seen 5 of them and where The Gift is on one end of the spectrum, Flight is at the other.

The special effects and set designs are amazing!  Royal has really outdone themselves with this one.  Really impressive all around. We still found this cast a bit weak vocally, but the rest more than made up for it.

I had high hopes for this show as I taught Grade 6 for a number of years and the History of Flight is in the Grade 6 curriculum.  I have always enjoyed teaching that unit.

I thought they did a wonderful job giving a nod to all the important figures who contributed to Flight. My favourite scene was probably the “In Memorial” scene and the one following with the Wright Bothers.

Love the underlying theme in this production as well as this is the one thing, if only thing, I try to teach my students all year, Dare to Dream, Dare to Fly. 😊

One last thing before I go to bed...the things you wonder was you try to maximize #teamDX....

Food coma was so real with Star Class that we gave up our UDP for this sailing and went with CK and complimentary venues. Tonight I feel so full it is beyond food coma!!  How can that be possible??  Hubby thinks that it is because we pretty much have been eating cruise food all month.

Will this deter me from eating tomorrow? Nope! Haha. 8 month dry dock coming up. Lots of time to detox 🤣

Day 7:  At Sea

“The perfect orchestration of the Symphony of life is one of God’s greatest and most beautiful miracles.”

Another beautiful morning today as we wrap up our last day on the cruise.  Slept in a bit this morning and made it to CK just in time before they stopped serving breakfast.  Shockingly, Hubby actually made it with me today and we can show a Hubby breakfast pic 😄 I had my usual fruit and French toast.

Happy to report that as we sit here from CK and people watch, it’s past 10 am and there are plenty of chairs left on the pool deck.  Chair hogs are not too apparent this cruise, but parents who don’t supervise their children are 😒

Again, no plans for today other than to sit around and soak up our last day on this amazing ship.

Happy Happy Anniversary ❣️ Following when I can, we go Aug 17th for our 40th anniversary! Was going to do decorations ahead, but since they just deliver, will skip & maybe take something along.

Enjoy! ❤️

KimS

Thanks!  Glad to have you along!  And Happy Anniversary to you too!

But cruise calories don't count. Isn't that the rule?!

That is true until you step back into reality 😆

Now for the boring stuff that I have been saving until now...

VOOM instructions

This is the first time that we were not given a code. Instead, you follow the instructions and enter your info, and it automatically gives you access without a code.

I will say that VOOM has been fantastic on this sailing. Other than the few weather systems that we have sailed through, it has been consistently good.  Happy to report zero drop outs except for when we encountered some weather.  But even then it was restored quickly.

@Lovetocruise2002, I think I read every page, but missed this if you talked about it. How did you like CD Mike? Hopefully you agreed with how much I liked him. Is Katy still the AM and how did you like that little bundle of energy?

I’ve actually been hoping that you would not ask, but since you did, here goes...

Unfortunately, Katy is not here as the AM.  It’s another person by the name of Hannah. She is not good. That is about as much as I want to say there.

Looking back at our cruises in the past year, we’ve had Hugo, Jamie, Ricky, Mitch, and now Mike. Mike is our least favourite. I tried hard to like him as I know that you and many others have had good things to say about him but I just did not see it.

He did not seem very enthusiastic about any of the events that he was hosting. I think back to Mitch who we had on the Anthem GC and he was on his very last sailing before vacation and even he brought on more energy than Mike did. He almost seemed “distracted” most of the time. Hubby even went on to say that he reminds him of a younger version of Bobby Brown.

Our suite lounge concierges on the other hand, have been wonderful this sailing. Jennie and Jackie are so effortlessly efficient.  I would not say that they have bubbly personalities but they know exactly what they are doing and they are right on the ball with everything. This is the first time that I have ever received emails each day of the sailing from a concierge outlining the next day’s events and highlights.  These two are highly organized and capable individuals.

Aaaaaww..it's almost like he's 2 different people. See, even Canadians have a bad week, I guess. Sorry I got your hopes up.

I thought I was going to have Hugo on my Navigator cruise, but noooooo! Oh well.

No worries. A great CD is icing on the cake. We don’t let that affect our cruise at all. 😊

Sounds like they might be on the fast track to a Genie promotion. 😊
