No price drops on any of my cruises (most are casino comps so that never surprises me) BUT some of the Cruise Planner items (dining packages is pretty much all I check) are back on "sale".  Nothing lower than what I already have but still worth checking.

I booked my January Mariner cruise for a JRS on 8/23 which included $75 OBC and noticed the next day it was $70 less so I called and rebooked.  Two weeks later the price jumped a little but the OBC increased to $275 so I rebooked again and saved another $120 so I saved $190 in a two week span.

Definitely pays to keep an eye on the prices!

I have never had a cruise price drop - maybe because I always seem to find great deals a long way out. I usually watch prices go way up after I book. My Celebrity Beyond sailing in January has gone up 3x the price I paid since booking!

this is us for all our cruises also 😂

I was able to call Club Royale and get a very decent upgrade cost on our 7-day on Rhapsody in November...   I think there are deals to be had... just have to do the research.

The casino comps are the hardest to track, IMO.  Unless there is a substantial difference in the base price of whatever cabin category you originally booked, it is really hard to know whether the price has really dropped or not.  The problem is (as far as I can discern) is I never have any idea what "base" price they are using to calculate a price reduction (ad/or an upgrade).  No matter how hard I look, I cannot manage to EVER find the same base price that they quote me.  I wish I knew what the real bottom line was, but I never do.  I just call and they USUALLY tell me that the current price is higher, not lower.  I had one recently that actually did go down but it was a big exception.  What really surprised me about that price drop was that they actually gave me a cash refund even though it was past final payment date.  You just never know how that's going to go !

Agree!!  I looked at the price difference on the website for the Cabin I had and the lowest price of what I wanted, and thought that if I could get it lower than that, I'd do it....  when the Club Royale rep came back with a price several $100 lower than my threshold, I pounced!  🙂   But you're absolutely right... it's always just a swag...

I’ve never experienced this.

base price of original comp (priced at “You pick your room” unless your comp was a GTY-then that’s the base)  to the cabin category  upgrade you want-including if it’s midship or not ( usually extra cost).   It has nothing to do with the original price you booked at .
if you have $ on the upgrade they’ll give back any difference to original form of payment.    I usually find the better price and call saying “I’m considering an upgrade-can you tell me the price of”….one time it was quite higher, turns out they were looking at  a spacious ov balcony as opposed to a regular ov balcony, he insisted there were no other cabins available. Hung up, called back, same “game” but I specifically mentioned the cabin # and suddenly they could see it.  Idk if at that time their computers were set to show highest price, if they get extra $ for the upcharge or what else may have caused this “phenomenon “

I’ve experienced a few “can’t do” when inside final payment-one time I called 3 different times-still a no.  Rare is the time I’ll find price drops inside final payment on my comps as I sail a log out of NJ or I’m on a paid for cruise  “everyone wants this cruise let’s triple the cost of it”(ie Panama Canal)

Thanks, Patty.   I’ll have to check out your strategy and see if I’m smart enough to figure it out !  No guarantees….🥴🥴

My travel agent checked  my cruises for the above months. The prices went down. Saved $300 for the casino.

Hello,

I have booked an Icon of the Seas cruise for February 2025. I paid a non-refundable deposit and noticed that the price of the cruise has been reduced.

In this case, can I contact RC to reduce the price to the current one? I watched a video blog where they talked about this possibility. Has anyone used it yet?

Thanks for your help.

Welcome to the message boards.

If you're an American or Canadian resident and you're before final payment date then yes, you should be able to ask for a price adjustment.

I will point out a caveat that the phone agents when you booked directly with the cruise line (as opposed to working with a travel agent) dont always know about this option. Frankly, I don't know why there's a discrepancy, but yet another good reason to use a travel agent in the future.

I would also point out before you call to verify the lower price you are seeing is for the exact same category code as your cabin.  Meaning, just because you see another "balcony" cabin cheaper than what you paid doesn't mean it's the same.  You need to refer to your booking for the stateroom code (usually looks like 4D or some number letter pattern like that) and verify the new price is indeed cheaper.
