In 5 cruises, each time I think I'll get to go to Giovanni's, it has a Jamie's instead, lol. Anthem, Mariner, and Symphony all have Jamie's. Rhapsody and Brilliance have the OG Giovanni's but it never worked out to eat there. I make handmade pasta every year at Christmas because it's a pain in the tush to just make for the heck of it, and I find the pasta at Jamie's to be really good for house made. One of these days I'll try a GK!

We just watched Mardi Gras pull out. Took ages for her to back up and do a bit of a k-turn.

Don't people wave anymore when you're on one ship and watching another leave? I remember that from 20 years ago.  Not so much more, i guess. One little boy in bright green swim trunks was jumping up and down and waving.  Of course i waved back. Batman asked if anyone waved back at me.  He thought i was an idiot. I had to explain that i didn't want to be rude and crush a child's dreams. To be fair, my embarkation day bathroom misstep is still fresh in his head.

Gio's on Oasis actually was really bad when me and my brother went. But somehow amazing on Allure both times. 🤷‍♀️

Consistently inconsistent. Had the same MDR meal tonight as in March (same ship obv)… much better in March (and on Allure last October).

Hi from the Suite Lounge which we actually found quite easily this time since we miraculously found an elevator that went to Deck 17. Now that we found that ..... on Day what? 4? In the words of Batman, sigh!

Today's snacks

Grilled shrimp, corn fritters, chicken wings, quiche

Ok, FTLOG!! How do you not know at your age that you let people off the elevator before you get on? It costs you 2 whole seconds and saves a world of dancing i don't care to do with you. You're holding hands with a toddler and storming onto an elevator we're trying to get off. What is wrong with people??

Also ... we were on a wet elevator. With a Pinot Grigio color ... speculation throughout if someone wet their pants ...

their pants.

Tonight's turndown gift. My favorite yet! I've promptly stolen Batman's and plan to use it at the ungodly hour we're meeting Shane in the morning for our Hideout Cabana.

Yes, please, and thank you!!

@Lovetocruise2002 We're going to have lunch on our balcony with Shane probably day after tmw. I'll see what he says about the gifts then. Oh!!! And do you all remember the tram shenanigans from my last blog? Apparently we just missed sailing with them again as they were on the ship last week. We've dubbed them the Tram Trespassors ever since.

People can be so stupid. SMH. Elevator protocol can be so bad. We are back on 17 next cruise so I am in training to be able to go up 10 flights in dress shoes without sweating. 🥵 I am also not ruling out elevator/genie bribery. I would gladly pay a fee to avoid elevator chaos.

I remember Shane picked us up at 8am and we were a bit reluctant but we put our faith in him and we were glad we listened to him.  I can’t wait to hear your thoughts on the hideout cabana. Check out the far end cabana closest to ocean…I was thinking it would be better than being in the middle of all the action.  Which one did Shane reserve? Shane grabbed a tram for us; he is so good at keeping people off of it.  Hopefully no tram shenanigans for you!!

We watched Hiro from our balcony. ALL the ATS show performers are incredibly talented. Nothing i could ever do myself in a million and 3 years.

Again, i do not take pics during the show, so these were taken right before. Sad they must've put out 3 warnings to control your brats, er i mean kids, during the show. They do it because they have to

I will say, i expected a little more Shogun, a little less Daft Punk. Aqua80 is the absolute clear winner in my book. Otherwise the stunts were impressive. Very much so. And you can clearly tell they have great teamwork. I do love this suite for that reason. We love watching practices.

Batman said they could've cut the show by an hour (by my calculation, it was 50 minutes). Ignore him. I was happy to watch it from our balcony. (Everyone has a talent. Batman's is editing ANY movie down to < 90 minutes. Since this show was < an hour, he's taking it out on me that we're meeting Shane early.)

Shane sent up drinks and popcorn to watch the show. What could be better?

Off to bed. We're meeting Shane at 7:55. Batman is already cursing me. I told him he'll sleep in the cabana and like it.

Oh, and before i leave you tonight (I'll get to the Hooked review tmw), stay tuned. I'm sure I'm not the first to report this news, but Shane said they are fixing to trial overnight stays in PDCC in about 2 years. They will be building villas on the island where you can stay, and since Utopia will be doing 3/4 night sailings, the current plan is to start there first to trial it. Yes, please! And thank you!

We are cabana 82, which is right in the middle.

20240604_091728.thumb.jpg.a0c35e66ca7968b6faea8febb550c4b8.jpg

For reference, it is 90 steps away from the men's room and 140 steps away from the ladies room. If you need closer, ask for 77 or 78.

Also of note, they mark all names here with first names. Our last name is a common male name so we royally confused our cabana attendant when that was the name i provided. 😁

Your Genie does not escort you here like the OTW cabanas. Shane got us on the tram, we made a transfer and found the cabana check in station. We just followed the first sign and eventually found it. Look for the chilled washcloths.

We barely checked in and our cabana attendant whisked is away.

We're here with Allure (which Batman keeps calling Anthem, which is only fair since he thinks we sailed Allure before and has no idea it was Anthem...)

It's 9:37a and loads of seats yet.

Hmmmm.  I wonder why ?  Did the Genie take you all the way to the OTW cabana ?  Did you have to transfer at the tram station ?  I wonder if this is b/c it's a "2-step" process for Hideaway....although it would ordinarily be a 2-step process for OTW as well.  Just trying to figure out why it's different....

I think because the tram for CC Beach goes directly there and then the cabana check in is right near the entrance, which is where our Genie dropped us off last time.  The cabana check in for Hideaway is a bit of a walk and took us a minute to find.

Soooo many birds yesterday!

Yes, they were everywhere near the Hideaway Hut concession area last month. I got up and walked away to grab a drink and Christine told me one bird swooped in and stole a mozzarella stick! Not the mozzarella sticks! 😱

Ugh. Another cash grab by Royal.

why would someone pay extra to sleep there when your room is a few hundred yards away that you can sleep where you have already paid for?  I am ok if they do the overnight as I think doing the water park at night would be cool and having 2 days at PDCC I don't see as an issue, but I don't get why you would want to pay extra to sleep there instead of just going back to the ship.
