I know it's random but I just noticed this. All 4 of my future Wonders are deck 10 forward interiors (standard, not VB). We probably would have preferred aft but after looking at several cabin videos, I kept seeing an awful layout in aft interiors where you didn't even get a love seat, just a small chair. Obviously I don't care much about my cabin but I like my small couch so I used the info at hand and went with forward. As long as we're somewhere between the upper and lower decks so I can avoid elevators without having to walk 10 flights, I'm content.

I prefer aft to be closer to the casino, but I enjoy the exercise anyway. But I didn't know it was just a chair. As a solo that would be fine, but my brother and I are sharing this cabin, so the sofa is a win. I also feel like anything above deck 8 is okay with me.

VB interiors may not have the chair, I was only looking at my category and was limited to the handful of videos I could find (mostly on cruisedeckplans.com). There could be chairs forward and/or sofas aft for all I know. I do know there are at least 3 different layouts for regular interiors on Wonder. The other two (sofa, not chair) can have the bed on the side like a balcony cabin or along the back wall like most interiors. Either of those are fine with us. I think my wife and I differed on slight preference but I forget which was which.

Above deck 8 is our sweet spot as well. I've moved my cabins around since booking. At one point we had 9, 10, and 11... then I decided to be OCD and move them all to deck 10 when others opened up. We're actually only 4 cabins apart in June/July and we have one of those exact cabins again in March, 2025.

As for forward vs. aft, that probably doesn't matter that much to us on Wonder now that I think about it. There are locations on both ends we frequent.

I am at the airport, tsa precheck was less than a min. My mother and brother don't have precheck and it was about 15min for security. Our plane has been at the gate since we got here. At 5am most of the bars opened, I know it 5 o'clock somewhere.

Since we are sailing out of PC, it seems like this flight has lots of Disney children. They are too excited 😊

I am on my way and can't wait to get on Mariner. No matter if I fly day before or day of most of my travel anxiety goes away once I am on the plane. We were slightly delayed. Even though this plane had come in at 10pm last night, they forgot to fuel it. We finished boarding 20min early but left 20 min late because of refueling.

There was only one shenanigan. I went to get popcorn from the self service vendor. This lady was in front of me and I try to give space so I was farther away. Time was passing but she taking forever. Come to find out she wasn't buying popcorn but digging in the reservoir of fallen popcorn and eating it. I am sure it was stale. After she got all the fallen pieces she stood to the side eating them. She had her card out like she was going to buy some. She said I'm not paying when there are free ones and laughed. She waited until I got mine to get the rest of the fallen soldiers 😂🤣😂😂.

The flight wasn't full. I count 3 empty seats between my row of 8/9. I went to the bathroom and noticed whole empty rows. I am tracking my bags. Everything looks good.

We are on the ship.

We got our luggage pretty quickly. And made it to port at 12:25. But it was choas. I guess boarding was backed up. We made it aboard at 1pm. We are currently in Playmakers. We got the 50 wings, fries, and onion rings. I got the knockout punch and my brother got a black and gold.

Rooms were ready at 1pm. We came up around 2:20. 12pk of Evian was in room as well as D+ wine selection.  But room is small. I'm spoiled because I do solo rooms. It's only 5 days so we will make do.

I have to say all the port staff and crew have been super friendly. They keep commenting on how young and smiley we are.

I am waiting on luggage. I packed my change of clothes but all the shoes are in the checked bag 😫, so I'm stuck unless I want to put on boots.......which looks unfashionable with shorts 🤪🤣😂😂.

@asquared17 I put new cruise cord/adapter in carry-on and had no issues. They seem to only remove from checked bags.

To note my mother did that to the bed. She moved all the stuff that was piled on the couch and scattered it across the bed 🙄.

We got all our luggage. As you can see, none of the prearranged requests have been honored. Our room attendant will split the beds when he does evening service.

We have MTD and I made standing reservations for 8pm. We are doing specialty lunches as opposed to UDP. Not that Mariner has many restaurants.

I forgot to mention. Mariner is out of terminal 5, you walk a ramp or take an elevator to board. Along the way like fifty eleven people say "welcome to Mariner." Somehow, 7 times, people made it almost to the security screening before realizing that they where meant to be on the Carnival Freedom 🤯.

Also it's only been one day but now I know why we never travel alone with our mother......and why I prefer to stay alone in my room🤣😂😂🤣😂.

I know exactly what you mean. I'm cruising with my mom this summer and as much as I love her I need my own space. I'm so glad you're on board and I hope you have a great time!

Yippe !!  So glad you are there and got your luggage without incident.

I love boarding at PC T5.  We have always had great results there.

Hope you guys got out of port on time.  We just lost power here (St Lucie County) and there is a confirmed tornado down in Jensen Beach (about 10 miles south of us). Crazy-ass weather everywhere.

Have a great cruise.

WHOA, look at THOSE. ONION. RINGS!!! Wowza. I cannot wait to try Playmakers for the first time in March. I have the nachos and campfire cookie on my list, now I have added onion rings, yum.

Glad you made it onboard and sorry about dealing with your mom. Has anyone hit on your brother yet?

FWIW, big fan of their burgers and the garlic parm fries they come with.

They also have two of my favorite drinks... The Pitch (modified Long Island) and Goalpost margarita (pineapple jalapeno).

Didn't get the chance to eat there on Wonder in June b/c we were busy freeloading in the suite neighborhood with family. We will be eating there on every future cruise though.

Yes several people have hit on my brother.  A lady hit on my mother and she was confused. Whenever we have been together people are staring. A nice vintage asked if we were a throuple 🤣😂🤣😂😂😂. I laughed and said were immediate family and she asked if we bath in the blood of innocents.

The app has been wonky and internet is decent. I showered and put on pants for dinner, the storm/rain was rough. Once we started moving the humidity was insane. I played in the casino for 3hrs, until dinner. Which was in the MDR. Service has been amazing. The food was hot. It was good but really bland. Welcome aboard is my least favorite menu, I got spinach and artichokes dip, and the NY strip. My brother got the portobello mushroom and the Indian saag. He said it was somewhat disappointing and he could have only ate apps, his was the escargot and crab cake. My mom got the fish and she assumed it would be more seasoned, she also said the portion was miniscule.

Like always the first night is a mess. We stood in both lines trying to get our actual table. We tipped our waiters because we have MTD and it's hit or miss on whether we will get them every night. After dinner we went back to the room and relaxed. Well we got ice cream from sugar beach and the remainder of our vouchers in drinks from Cafe promenade, first.

I was shocked and amazed when I got back to the room. They split the beds and then made the upper berth 🤯. This set up is cuckoo bananas, I am definitely afraid of my mom falling out or one of us hitting our heads.

On what planet does asking 3 people sitting together innocently if they are a 'throuple' come anywhere near the vicinity of proper etiquette?

Planet Watermelon, i guess. Who goes there first?! I mean, unless you were wearing the throuple equivalent of swingers pineapple 🍍 attire? 🤔 Great, now i have to google secret throuple signs. I can't wait to see what rabbit hole this takes me down. On the positive, maybe my ads will change when i come back to this site .....

Now that I've read the rest of your post ...

1) I'm glad you put on pants for dinner. I mean, going pantless to dinner would be like Batman going shirtless ... or someone assuming you're a throuple.

It's very early for me. I'll read this later and call myself an idiot.

2) I hope your room steward has the sense to pull out the couch tonight for you.

3) Pretty soon i see butter on Royal becoming like prison barter.  Yeah you can get in the elevator first, but it will cost you 3 pats of butter ...

Day 2 sea day.

So I hate wearing pants, I guess I should have mentioned that🤣😂. On cruises I wear shorts and no fuss dresses. But it was still too chilly for anything other than pants imho. Maybe I was still filled with negative weather but we all wore pants.

The throuple comment came because we were huddle together in the casino for a bit. But I think we look familial enough to not get asked crazy questions like that 😜 😅.

I'm heading to the Crown Lounge. I have Jamie's at noon and the casino most of the day unless a show calls to me.

No. My mother was excited to stay up top. I offered, but my fan had nowhere to go, I need my night air.........especially since they both insist on sleeping with the balcony door open.

I am super bad at taking pictures. I hit a jackpot of $397 and just took my money and left. Just an FYI, Mariner has exactly 11 machines to make up the non-smoking section,  which is a moot point, considering 🤣😂🤣😂😅.

There are tons of tiny humans not behaving because parents are assuming the ships their babysitter. This little boy sat at a machine and beat the button into a frozen position, despite being told they can't touch the machines and must walk through. A tech had to fix the machine. I sat with my brother in the WJ and watched several children "help" themselves and jump through the staircases, knocking into people.

Stray observations:

The WJ had large containers with milk. There were no cartons to be had. No ice were in juices.

The WJ had reserved tables. I don't know why the tables were reserved.

People were literally walking straight through without washing hands despite the "washy, washy" lady asking.

You can't get doubles with prime anymore. I was told I would be charge a voucher if I wanted a double neat. Maybe it's just Mariner but if I have to get up and go to the bar more often, less tips.

Wow!  That’s a tiny little bed up there!   Your Mom is definitely a good sport!

A tiny little bed with a small rickety ladder and a small rickety rail on the side! Yikes.
