That crab cake and lobster looks amazing!!! How did your mom do with the meal?

She managed..they made her a custom salad for the appetizer and did something to the lobster casserole to make it onion/chive/scallion/shallot/garlic free so she had that. It was touch and go there at the beginning, though. 😰

Nothing else to do..might as well play with the drink package.

I walked over to Cafe al Bacio..think Cafe Promenade for those familiar with Royal Caribbean.

They have a case of desserts available for anyone at no charge.

I ordered the Iced Popcorn Frappe which claims it has alcohol in it but tastes not surprisingly like sugar.

Keep in mind the modern luxury version of Sorrento's is in the back part of Oceanview Cafe. Passing thru Oceanview Cafe I grabbed a quick shot of the gluten-free and dairy-free selection of late-night snacks.

So I am confused as to the MDR if not sailing in the Retreat. If my study of this ship is correct there are 4 MDR restaurants. If I forgo specialty my first time out on Celebrity & choose a traditional seating do you get assigned a table in the same restaurant every evening? Do they then rotate the menus through from the other venues or do they rotate us like on DCL?

If and it's a big If I can swing this I have to be fine with a concierge cabin at best, we just placed our first University deposit so my cruising days are over for the foreseeable future. (Saint Leo University newest program, Bachelor of Science Nursing Program, proud mama here.... on the way to broke but proud, LOL!)

I'm loving this trip report, it is so refreshing as it is new yet familiar at the same time. I really am enjoying all the food porn!!

Thanks so much for the amazing trip report and Happy, Healthy, Blessed Thanksgiving to all!

My understanding on Edge class you are assigned a set table and restaurant. Each restaurant has a set menu of items that stay the same and are specific to that restaurant. Then there's a rotating daily menu that all dining rooms have. Plus there's a classics menu that doesn't change and is the same for all of the restaurants. You are able to order the special items unique to the other restaurants at your assigned restaurant upon request.

Today we are in St. Thomas.

The modern luxury map channel goes down into city detail.

The ship announcements also play on the map channel so you don't have to run to open the door to hear the announcement in the hallway.

It's bright out..much improved weather from yesterday.

That is dangerous for the waistline...I'll just grab a slice of pizza, while passing by the buffet lol

Hope everyone has enjoyed the class 101 on Celebrity cruises and venture over to book a sailing.

I have posed the X idea to Hubby. His response? "What am I supposed to do all day if I cannot Flow Ride?" This might be a bit more difficult than I initially thought. I am trying to lure him over with gelato and stir fry stations

Glad to hear I am not the only one who does that!

Yes, it is very heavy!

This should definitely be a concern. If you are not a relaxer, I'm not sure what else is there to fill your days. We have spent most of our time eating or sitting around. I've watched more Netflix on this cruise than I ever do at home 😂

That sounds perfect to me! That is what I normally do on Royal anyway. Well, not the Netflix part, I read/blog instead.

He said we will have to look at Star inaugural and X pricing for July 2025. Good thing they are coming out the same week otherwise I would drive my poor TA nuts with holds lol

Oh, I just thought of another question. How do you guys find the dress code compares to Royal, especially in areas like The Retreat (lounge & Luminae)?

The restaurants all have a no tshirts, no jeans with holes, no shorts policy in the evening. We haven't been to the Retreat in the evening but during the day you wouldn't feel out of place with tshirt and shorts.

In the evenings it noticeably skews more towards dressier than casual compared to Royal. You will see less folks in public areas in shorts/tshirts at night but you wouldn't stick out if you were dressed like that.

What about in the lounge in the day time?

Dress code or should say inappropriate clothing i haven't seen on this sailing.  With it being European sailing it's a more casual sailing.

On dress to impress night, i barely saw a handful of elegant gowns.

On prior sailings there was zenith who attempted to go to dining room in shorts and told NO.  They do make sure dining room experience is classy and not night club attire or barely any clothes at all.

I work a lot when I'm solo cruising so it doesn't bother me that there's less active stuff to do. I have never even gotten into a cruise ship pool, hot tub, or water slide 😂

The people watching has been disappointing as the clientele seems to be more well behaved. I haven't seen Zeniths flaunting their black cards. I haven't seen folks tossing around their entitled attitudes.

I haven't even seen the pajama attire in my passing around in early morning.

With dining room, if you select early or late times it would be set table nightly.  They will adjust nightly once everyone is seated for "walk-ins"

My time is flexible and hasn't been problem with time requests

You won't see the pins or stuffy ones demanding this or that because status

It's a lot! Celebrity is over complicated 😂.

There's so many different classes and configurations of everything..different drink package levels and wifi levels. It's a whole new system to learn how to game!
