Happy holiday season! I thought it would be fun to put down what fantastic things your travel agent has gotten you/helped you with/saved you from. How has your Royal Caribbean/travel experience improved because of a TA?

 

I'll start - my TA got me $150 in OBC for my next cruise. Score!

Coincidentally, it's an issue that's very much in the spotlight right now, but back early in the pandemic, I cancelled some cruise planner purchases just prior to lifting & shifting (remember that? ) a cruise.

Three months passed without so much as a penny hitting my account. Not wanting to get stuck on a lengthy and costly long distance phone call, I enlisted the aid of my TA (shout out to @michelle) who managed to get it sorted and refunded pronto. And since this was our very first booking with her, she hadn't even received a dime of commission from us yet. To me, that's what it's all about - service.

My TA bought my wife Travel insurance once, because I didn’t and he found out she had some mobility issues as we were planning excursions. I thanked him, but told him we were covered under my credit card and that’s why I didn’t buy insurance. He said it was too late and that she was double insured now. It was too late for him to cancel that insurance unfortunately. While it never benefited us, it showed that he cared and wanted us to have a great experience even if something went wrong. He gained a very loyal customer out of the money he spent on us.

When Royal swapped ships on us our TA was able to upgrade us to a balcony at no extra cost.

Our travel agent has done so many things for us and we are are very grateful for her.  Some of the things that come to mind are the times she has spent helping us change cruises, answering questions, changing existing cabins, adding people…the list goes on and on.

My travel agent has surprised us with birthday cake onboard and Christmas cookies on land. She’s also put up with having to lift and switch multiple cruises around because of changes to work schedules and Covid policies and the like

My TA got me an Owner's Suite on Odyssey of the Seas for the price of an Owner's Suite on Empress of the Seas (difference was about $7k).  Thanks @michelle!!

On our June Alaska cruise, our TA surprised us with an unexpected $800 OBC...Don't know why but it came in handy with the cost of land tours.  Not to mention, he tracked and kept straight all of our Covid canceled cruise and the 125% FCC's...Made sure we got to use them!
