Coincidentally, it's an issue that's very much in the spotlight right now, but back early in the pandemic, I cancelled some cruise planner purchases just prior to lifting & shifting (remember that? ๐Ÿ˜‚) a cruise.

Three months passed without so much as a penny hitting my account. Not wanting to get stuck on a lengthy and costly long distance phone call, I enlisted the aid of my TA (shout out to @michelle) who managed to get it sorted and refunded pronto. And since this was our very first booking with her, she hadn't even received a dime of commission from us yet. To me, that's what it's all about - service.

My TA bought my wife Travel insurance once, because I didnโ€™t and he found out she had some mobility issues as we were planning excursions. I thanked him, but told him we were covered under my credit card and thatโ€™s why I didnโ€™t buy insurance. He said it was too late and that she was double insured now. It was too late for him to cancel that insurance unfortunately. While it never benefited us, it showed that he cared and wanted us to have a great experience even if something went wrong. He gained a very loyal customer out of the money he spent on us.ย

Our travel agent has done so many things for us and we are are very grateful for her. ย Some of the things that come to mind are the times she has spent helping us change cruises, answering questions, changing existing cabins, adding peopleโ€ฆthe list goes on and on.ย
