After canceling our July 4th cruise, we also booked the Nov. 21st Apex cruise. Now, I'm wondering if that cruise will happen. We've decided that we will not cancel this cruise, it will have to actually be canceled by Celebrity.

If Celebrity starts sailing 4th quarter, I'm guessing Apex and Edge will be 2 of the ships they'll put back to service.   Apex is supposed to start with the Med before coming to the Carribean.  Now that the EU has clamped down on tourism from the states, will be interesting to see if Apex stays with the med itinerary, or is redeployed to Carribean early.   Bunch of what-ifs - we're all guessing right now.  But as no one can cruise, what other diversions are there?

It's officially official. Deposit is charged and the reservation is in Celebrity's system. The countdown is on!!!

I will be on Celebrity Summit on August 2, 2020 for my long-hoped-for and dreamed-of 50th birthday celebration trip. It's a 14-night transatlantic voyage (8 port days, 6 sea days) going to Nova Scotia

Remove Aug 2-16, 2020 Iceland & Greenland on Summit. Replace with (via Lift & Shift) Aug 1-15, 2021 Iceland & Greenland on Summit

Canceled my Aug 1, 2021 Iceland & Greenland sailing this morning. There will be no bucket list trip for me, or apparently any cruises at all, at any point in the foreseeable future.

What a heartbreak, Joe.  You have been talking about this cruise for a year !  Bad enough that you had to L&S it, but now to cancel it completely ?  So sorry to hear this !

I got the feels for you Joe I also cancelled my Baltic cruise in July 2021 and I have not got over it yet....Why not come over to Aus next year and do a cruise we should be opening up soon as we have not been so hard hit and there are some great South Pacific adventures aroundfli.gif.c398b3fc9bbed691d185eadd9bccabea.gif

I'd love to. But right now the US is a pariah to every other country in the world, and no one will let us in. We're not even being given the option to quarantine for 2 weeks first.

That's all I'll say on it. I'm far too pissed off and too tempted to go on a rant.

I’m hoping Apex gets the nod to go first. I’m on 11/21, and by then will most likely be a six cancelled cruises.

Well, I had to cancel our 11/21 Apex cruise due to health issues. I will say this, I know Celebrity is owned by the Royal Caribbean Group, but I have NEVER had the problems with Royal Caribbean that I have had with Celebrity. Now I know why they're really pushing the FCCs because I would not have booked another Celebrity cruise if I wasn't going to lose a bunch of money by not using the FCCs. Trying to get them to acknowledge that I even had FCCs, tried to do a lift and shift (that was another nightmare) and then book another cruise for July 2021on the Equinox and then get those FCCs applied to that cruise, well, I was lied to, hung up on, put on hold for 41 minutes, dealt with numerous folks who clearly did not know their jobs and then FINALLY, I got to deal with this one guy (Nolan) working from home and he knew how to make the system work and suddenly, I've booked a cruise and got the FCCs applied to it. I just hope the cruise is a lot better than most of their telephone booking people.

That’s too bad, would have been fun to have someone else from the message boards on that sailing.
I’ve had very hit and miss experience with their call centers, especially the casino staff, but I’ve also had those with Royal recently as untrained reps take over for those that have been furloughed.

We are booked aboard the Apex 11/28/20. I booked a long time ago.  Have a Sky Suite for a price that will never again come around.  LOL! Of course I'm pretty sure this cruise will get the axe.

Will you be able to L&S since you got such a great price ?

Unfortunately no.  I thought the Celebrity offer was nice offer though.  Based on the time I can get off, Apex/Edge availability, and my cruise was not during the holidays...I couldn't work it out.

Canceled my Oasis February 2021 cruise.  Decided to book a Celebrity Alaska 2022 when they release the schedule.  This will be our first Celebrity Cruise.

We had out first Celebrity last year on Summit and loved it.  Will be spending our "couple" cruises on Celebrity, and save Royal for group cruising, starting in 2021.  We have a couple more Royal to get through first, that we booked before we sailed Celebrity.  Will most likely end up cancelling a B2B on Freedom for Oct 2021 to sail Celebrity instead.

We're booked on the Edge about that same time.  But have very low expectations its going to happen.

Yeah, I was just sitting on the celebrity website, so close to just hitting cancel, makes it easier with the refundable deposits. I just done feel like waiting till Jan/Feb to get my money back  on another one.

I’m officially out of the celebrity club. Cancelled our thanksgiving Apex sailing this afternoon. Didn’t seem worth the waiting period to make final payment on something I’m pretty sure isn’t going anywhere.
They’ve said when cruising resumes it would be shorter cruises and would focus on private islands/destinations. This one doesn’t fit either category, so I bailed before they could cancel it.

We're within 91 days of our yet to be cancelled Edge cruise.   I went into the app and instead of getting the usual "check back later we're working on your fun", the cruise itinerary partially came up. Doesn't show  the port calls or many activities.   Trying to get our hopes up before pulling the rug out.

Wondering if we should have a pool on what day the next set of cancelations are announced.

I could see it happening at the end of the month along with the initial healthy sail panel findings.

something to the effect of

“While we are making progress towards resumption of cruising, we believe we need additional time for implementation of our world-class safety measures to ensure our guest have a safe and seamless experience”

Apex is just meandering off the coast of the ship yard.  2020 is done - probably some short cruises to get a few ships spun up in Q1 of '21.  Kept our Edge reservation - expect FCC bonus and will put against one next year.   Lack of progress is frustrating.

Our trip was a casino comp through a service, so the only FCC would have been in my 10 year old daughters name, which we know would get convoluted. Also, too much on the cruise schedule so couldn’t fit another in for 2021.

Even if it were to start in Nov/Dec, can't imagine all the original port calls can be met.  Do not think all the original ports will be open to tourists.   Guessing any itinerary will be greatly abbreviated.  At this point, completed payment process for the FCC.  It will be used.

This appeared on my Celebrity APP today for my Nov 22 cruise.   Perhaps the introduction of Muster 2.0?

Interesting. Certainly not a guarantee that the cruise won't ultimately be canceled, given they'll need time to re-staff the ship and get all the guidelines from the Healthy Sail Panel codified. But a step that inspires a certain level of hope.
