I really think they did try. The time was tight from the get go. Because of our early departure time from San Juan, and the arrival time of that flight, I said to Hubby yesterday already that I was not confident it would have made it. The manager at guest services who is in charge of this ended up calling me earlier. Whoever they called to pick it up also encountered traffic so luck was not on our side. It’s ok. We already accepted on Sunday that we would be cruising casual this sailing. We are enjoying ourselves, I am not back in my own kitchen making dinner, we have an amazing Genie. Neesa
@tiny260 funny! Our reservation was at 2000 at Izumi Hibachi and while loud it was the normal loud. At 2130 a group of 10 who clearly enjoyed their drink packages previously arrived. The screaming was excessive. Another couple at our table were so agitated they left before things were cleaned up for dessert. For a second, the male became quite animated noting the other table, I was like, rut row! Tonight brought us back to Chops where I noticed we all ordered seafood, I just thought that was funny. Ceasars salad, mushroom soup and branzino. Derick has us going to a magic show not really our thing but he promised its good, we shall see. @tiny260 I appreciate the good, bad and ugly regarding our experiences as I believe them more authentic. I always look at information I'm reading with a grain of salt when a lot of the times the reviews come from people who are "comped" experiences sorry, why if they are enjoying for free would a negative word be expressed, so thanks so much for your actual experiences. In that spirit we had a leak of a sprinkler head right inside the door, drip drip drip. Okay someone was called and it was shut off. We had four or more visits and then phone calls regarding it STOP JUST STOP, LEAVE ME ALONE! I did not tell Allan about the lost luggage until Tuesday morning after breakfast. Neesa
Entertainment miss for us tonight. I know this is a personal thing but my take All due respect to the performer Magic still not our thing. We tried to like it, we wanted to like it BUT it was a hard no for me. Again he was funny and likeable its just card tricks and shadow puppets bore me to tears. I wish they would have maybe booked another live band or something else. Lovetocruise2002
Late on the dinner post tonight. I met up with @tiny260 and DW for drinks in the suite lounge before heading to Chops. When we all headed down to Deck 8, Allan was waiting for all of us because we share the same Genie. This is one of many things I love about Allan. Since Day 1, he has met us, and escorted us to every dinner. He does not leave until everyone is settled. Not all Genies do this. Some don’t come by at all, some swing by during your meal, and there are few and far between like Allan. Anyway, Allan went ahead and escorted @tiny260and DW into 150CP first since the rest of my family was nowhere to be found. As we made our way into Chops, there was a surprise on the table. A book for Hubby about Carrie Fisher. For those of you who don’t know, Hubby is a major Star Wars fan. Again, small, but such thoughtful gestures that mean so much more to us than the larger (in your face) type surprises. I will go on more about Allan in a few days. But I am 100% with @Rags1 now as a full out member of the AA (Allan & Araceli) group! We ordered all the usual items from Chops. @WAAAYTOOO, beyond happy to report that that mushroom soup is back. And the lobster entree now has 3 instead of 2. Our waiter told us they made that change just recently. bellemiche
Our wifi is quite sporadic in our ATS, so I haven't been posting as much as I had hoped for. Yesterday we didn't get off of the ship but spent most of the day on the suite sun deck where it was nice and quiet. We came back to our deck for sailaway and saw some dolphins, but unfortunately I wasn't quick enough with the camera to get a picture. We had dinner at Giovanni's, and ended up with a wonderful server. I think maybe they were making up for the terrible service that @tiny260received because we had people checking in on us a few times to see how things were and if we needed anything else. Today we booked a cabana at Labadee and we're looking forward to some swimming and relaxing. Starting the day here giving thanks and prayers for everything we have to enjoy and for everyone sharing their kindness. With everything going on today staying grounded and being present is what we are accomplishing this sailing. Thankful and blessed! Today we meet Derick at 1015 to go over to our Beach Cabana in Labadee. First time here and really looking forward to an amazing experience. Also included in the photos one of the many reasons my daughter and I am really enjoying the Star experience, hubby is warming but he still puts $$ on every aspect! He is a numbers guy always. Lovetocruise2002
Nothing much to report on my end today. I stayed on the ship and it was the best day ever! Barely saw anyone onboard. Spent a bit of time in a cabana on the suite sun deck, then spent the rest of the afternoon just enjoying the balcony. Dinner brought us back to 150 CP because I needed to follow through on what I promised @GregD. Tonight Hubby and I both tried the 150 CP filet. The verdict is…I am still #teamCK for the filet. It was not bad, still good, but if I had to pick one, it would be CK. It’s more tender and has a slightly better flavour. After dinner we caught the ice show, Frozen in Time. The girls said this was their favourite show on the ship. After that, we headed back to the Aqua Theatre to see Aqua 80 again since my 13 year old fell asleep the other night and escaped the hose down. A friend in the Deck 8 ATS did invite a bunch of us to watch from her balcony but we took a chance and stayed down below. From the looks of it, they were prepared this time to record if we got soaked again lol. Aqua 80 tonight was shortened even more than the other night. The support divers were injured tonight so it was basically down to dancers only. Overall, Aqua 80 has been a bust this cruise, between the weather, tech issues, now injuries, we never saw the full show. Going to have to sail Oasis again to see the full show. Prime time to explore, investigate, and of course relax. Btw, did anyone #majorstarclasstakeover have a BB cabana? In lieu of the earlier unrest, I’d love feedback on restoration of BB cabanas, coaster, zip line etc. Is the buffet served by staff? Straw markets open? Neesa
We spent a glorious day on Bare Foot Beach Labadee yesterday. We had beach cabana one. Derick met us at 1020 outside the ship and we departed quickly. The island was clean, the straw market was in full force. Lots of security. I forbid our teens to go over there without us while passing through for the water slide, I hated that. Staff served the food it was okay but the flies landing all over it gave me pause. Some friends did the zip line and they were pissed. Overwater cabana and they spent HOURS with harness on in a holding area waiting for the zip line. That being said our day was stunning! Not all the cabanas were rented but all the free standing chairs and umbrellas were in use. It was a lovely crowd out there. Kids loved the Rollercoaster! tiny260
Pretty much echo the feelings @Neesa had with Labadee yesterday, the cabanas look good, we were invited to share the cabana with one of our Star Class friends, the adopted us for the day, the cabanas look good, we were in one of the overwater, W5, we did have some issues with service later in the day, but that was rectified by management. Two of the group echoed the issue with the zip line, seemed it was very disorganized and people jumping in front of people in the line, then we were reminded that Labadee has only been re-open for a short time, so maybe growing pains? Food is good, but we usually go to the Beach club on Coco Cay, so it is not up to that level. All in all a great day at the beach, to much sun, which the wife and I are feeling today. tiny260
Today is a lazy day on the ship, sea day, ordered pictures, took care of the casino account, @Lovetocruise2002 or someone is organizing a group picture, maybe a pub crawl, lunch at Izumi, packing at sometime! All in all this has been a great cruise, meet up with old friends, made new friends, there have been issues, but all in all the crew has been very responsive and tried their best to provide a great service. The poor aqua show, I hope they can get things ironed out, being in 8730 we have been watching them train all week, this morning it looked like the safety divers were in the water training with SCUBA gear, so maybe they are all healthy now. Thanks to @Lovetocruise2002for organizing this unofficial GC and including the old folks in the group. Wife and I are sitting in the suite lounge and relaxing, she just made an observation, they went to a new type of straw, its a type of renewable, it works like the plastic but it's not, definitely better than the paper, also we were on Odyssey in December and they had switched to aluminum cans for water, Oasis still has the plastic bottles, so not sure the aluminum can are fleet wide or were just Odyssey. ellcee, CravingaCruise, bellemiche and 3 others

Neesa
Wow, Derick to the rescue I had zero internet all day! He was able to fix it right before the Beatlemaniacs show! Our friends from Nevada are leaving the ship at 0830 and flight from Miami doesn't leave until 1530. The Royal excursion is booked. Any suggestions for a quick activity in Miami after disembarking, plus they have 4 large suitcases. ALL Suggestions welcome. We had lunch scheduled at 1200 at Giovanni's but a private function group was there and we were turned away. Derick appeared out of no where and whisked us over to Chops for lunch, how do they do that? We really enjoyed him and the Star Loft experience. While I loved every minute of this trip, I'm still wearing my patch though even though I don't need it, withdrawal from it is really bad just allowing it to take its course, I'm ready....there's no place like home. Lovetocruise2002
Another late post tonight. I realized as I was packing up after dinner that I have not been keeping up with the blog at my usual pace. Apologies for that. But this has truly been a fantastic sailing! Where did I leave off earlier? Oh yes, after the escape room, we had Izumi delivered to the room. Then we met up with the group for a photo with all the Genies. After that, Hubby and the girls went and did a last hurrah of all the outdoor activities (zip line, flow rider, abyss, rock climbing). For anyone who doesn’t know, star class “skip the line” privileges for these activities cannot be used between the hours of 1-4pm. Dinner brought us back to Chops and for the first time ever, I have zero dinner pics to share. Tonight I am so happy because we got our final gift from Allan. It is something I have wanted for a long time and haven’t had much luck with getting it granted. There are no pics to share because, to our surprise, Allan accepted our invite and sat down and had dinner with us! Well, sort of. He did not eat, but he sat with us through most of our meal. I loved the conversations that we have had with Allan this week. Other than sailing with friends, the chats we have shared with Allan are probably some of my favourite moments this sailing. He is not only a top notch Genie, but he is genuine, so funny, and he clearly loves what he does. Each day of this sailing I was thankful that we pulled off what we planned 2.5 years ago on a whim lol. Thankful to sail with @tiny260 @bellemiche again and also to have been able to finally (after many years) put faces to names@ShakeDownCruise and @Neesa. And also truly grateful for the new friends and people that we have crossed paths with this sailing. sammy79, RWDW1204, Rags1 and 13 others 6
