Linda216
Do the cabins have a night light (or any type of light from the blow dryer or the light switch) to help with middle of the night trips?
Ampurp85
Since most interior rooms have no windows, Interior rooms are pretty dark. If not just completely pitch black. I normally buy a free standing pop light to keep in the bathroom and sleep with the TV on. You can get night lights and such from the Dollar Tree as most cruise lines do not have any. Bakerette
No the interior cabins do not have any kind of nightlight in the stateroom. mid you want a night light you can purchase one from any store that sells more than groceries like Walmart, Target, Publix, Winn Dixie, Dollar Stores or Amazon if you really want a nightlight for your interior cabin. Linda216
Thanks for the info. I have one. I just didn’t want to take up precious suitcase space if the room had something. Thx!
SPS
Dollar Tree sells two packs of LED tea lights that work great as night lights. We have some VERY small ones that do not have the flicker effect that surprisingly last a long time. They're about 1/2 an inch high and about as big around as a quarter. Over the course of two cruises we've only used one of them all night, every night (14 full nights).
Brobbins246
I prefer the tea lights as well. They don't take up outlet space, which is at a premium. SPS, PattyX45385 and coneyraven 2

SteveinSC
I gotta say....the pitch blackness of an interior room is IMPRESSIVE. When you wake up, you have absolutely ZERO idea what time it is. The biggest item thats a must for me is a clock. PattyX45385
monctonguy
Bathroom light may work..there is a space between the door and floor that lets a little light out so that maybe an option...on HOS(and maybe other newer ships?) there were 2 settings to the bathroom light if I remember correctly. DanielB
On the Oasis there was a "nightlight" in the bathroom that stayed on all the time. Do the interior rooms not have that light? I asked how to turn it off and was told it was for safety.
teddy
I’ve never found interior rooms to be 100% dark. There’s always been a little bit of light that leaks through the peephole and at the bottom. We used a battery tea light the first night we stayed in one but have not used one since. ymmv
Al Horner
I use a clock app on my kindle (which I leave plugged in all night). This way I get a clock and a night light with no extra stuff to carry. SteveinSC and HeWhoWaits

Zeashore
Before we started using tea lights, we would leave the tv on the bridge camera. Sunrise was on the tv and gradually lit up the room. Moonlight helped during the night.
spursfreak21
I think it depends on the ship class. I was on Enchantment (older ship) and it was pretty dark in my Interior Room. I'm talking pretty much pitch black. There was a very small sliver of light coming from the crack of the floor leading to the hall but that was it. WannaCruise
Even when we get an interior room with a window (e.g. promenade) or a balcony room, we keep the washroom light on for our kids. That way, when they get up in the middle of the night, especially in unfamiliar surroundings with not a lot space, they can see their way to the washroom. MinnesotaCruiser
Symphony (I have heard some of the other Oasis class as well) has a small nightlight in the bathroom. We led the door ajar and it was just enough to get to the bathroom but was not too bright. You can always close the bathroom door and it was dark as well. PattyX45385
We’ve been on several cruises and really like the inside rooms due to the price. We have been using soft light tea lights, battery operated. 1-2 in the cabin and one in the bathroom to leave on all night. Works great! sabarwolf
Dollar Store tea lights are awesome for a cruise cabin, no matter the size--doesn't take up any outlets or much space. (And you can find nice decorative ones too.)

Some people have said interior rooms dont get completely dark....but ive done 4 and thats not my experience. When I wake up, I cant see my hand in front of my face, and I have no concept of time. Its an interesting feeling!!! My wife absolutely loves it! For our upcoming cruise, were going to have our two little ones with us, so were using tea lights as night lights.... khawaja

If you have a virtual view or virtual balcony, you can leave that monitor on. There is just enough light from the monitor that I have had to turn it off at night. (but the virtual options would be on Navigator and newer ships anyway) Also, if you do decide to bring a small light, you can get a small one and put it inside a shoe so as not to take up space.
