Allure of the Seas Boardwalk Donuts

Are the donuts fresh cooked or are they brought on board?  I know room service only offers two different kinds and they are NOT cooked on board.  If fresh cooked, do they have cinnamon rolls?  I heard they have limited hours they are open and run out quickly.  Is this the case others have seen?

There were no cinnamon rolls, only donuts. Very limited hours and yes, they run out fast. 

Also, I don't know where you heard this but all the breads, donuts etc. are made on board. If you are implying frozen dough that is cooked........maybe but I doubt it.

I feel like I watched a documentary at some point where they said the only thing they don't make on board is ice cream? I might be making that up...but it feels right in my brain.

Can't speak about Allure's boardwalk donuts, but the normal ones available in the Windjammer are terrible.  Royal really needs to find a new recipe.

Took a galley tour on Freedom once and the pastry chef said all breads, deserts and pastries were made fresh on board. Had some huge mixers running as we were talking to him. Donuts are really just deep-fried pastries so can't imagine they would outsource them

Well ice cream might be made on board in some capacity. I believe that the soft serve machines have to be cleaned each day or two. Maybe the ones you get from the WJ or something, but my belief is that it is all made on board in some way. 

Also yes, the things they call donuts in WJ and MDR are just fried bread. They are bad. Boardwalk was only saved by some choice flavors.

I agree, but on Mariner in June we had some great sticky buns!

Agree that the donuts have always been terrible… while I really like many of the other pastries.

Now if they would only start making the Cococay funnel cakes onboard!

The cruise ships do not have Donuts.  They are round and look like donuts but they are not donuts.  One bite and they get thrown away.  It is kind of bad bread.

Our first time cruising on Allure several years ago,  I loved the donuts and made a point of going down to the Boardwalk most mornings to eat one or two.  Last year's trip on Allure, I tried one once.  Not the same.

They have funnel cakes at the Snack Shacks on the island and they're included!  Chicken sandwiches are fantastic as well.

Agreed. The problem (for me anyway) is balancing trips to the snack shack for chicken and funnel cake with trips to Chill Grill for the taco bar and ice cream sandwiches (taking the choc chip cookies to the ice cream machine).

We plan on a light and/or late dinner on Cococay days.

Maybe I’m an outlier, but…I like the donuts. However I can not claim to be a donut aficionado…even though my career of over thirty years was the butt of donut jokes. Dunkin’ they’re not! Crispy they’re not! But they are Royal…and me like ‘em!

I have a 6 yr old granddaughter who is super excited about the donut house on Allure of the Seas.

I've read they don't last long. What time do we need to be there to make sure she gets donuts?

8AM.  They are only open from 8 until 11am and they sell out fast.

I only saw regular ones…different flavors/toppings but I wasn’t looking for gluten free so did not notice if there were any marked as such.
