Megan86
We leave June 3rd and the weather is calling for a possible tropical storm near the Bahamas. Of course the updates are saying it is still hit or miss, but I am just worried our trip will be ruined. Does anyone have any advice? CrznTxn
May through November is hurricane season so you never know. We have 5 scheduled in that time and know if there is any really bad weather Royal may change the ports of call to make the trip more pleasant. Have had that happen twice and ended up having a great time at the "replacement" ports. Megan86
smokeybandit
Still a long way away to know if and where a storm hits. Megan86 and WAAAYTOOO

It's too early to know with any kind of accuracy what will happen or where the storm will go. Despite what the weather folks say, they have no idea. They make guesses based on flawed models, then completely change the forecast when the model changes and pretend they never said anything about the previous prediction. Sometimes they're right, sometimes they're not. But the bottom line is they won't know until maybe 48 hours before what the storm will or wont do. smokeybandit
According to JVF's discussion this morning, this still could be something or nothing. They're giving Mariner extra time to get home just in case it turns into "something" Kathleen, PPPJJ-GCVAB and Matt
leesam82
Unfortunately I don't think you will be able to know till it gets closer. However what you could do is possibly prepare for some rain. Maybe pack a poncho or other rain gear. Megan86

Cruisegirl1976
If there is a storm, they will just alter their sailing path, trip won't be ruined. WAYNO

Moby Dick
My forecast, 100% sunny, 0% chance of rain or clouds, wind at about 3 MPH and I have about a 100% chance of being wrong. So, that makes me completely qualified to be a weatherman and get paid big bucks to do it. WAAAYTOOO

Alztyrbn
So, if RCCL does change ports mid-sailing due to weather, do they offer excursions at the new port? How are these offered, Royal App? Excursion desk? What is the best way to get them book as soon as possible while on the ship?
jticarruthers
Boarding today as well, nothing you can really do but sit back, relax and make the best of it.
smokeybandit
From JVF's latest, sounds like it'll be a pretty annoying day tomorrow in south Florida and Coco Cay stops are in danger, but as of now everything is still going according to schedule. WAAAYTOOO
Here in Port St Lucie (~1 hr north of West Palm Beach), it has just started raining. Still very sporadic and light but the wind has picked up; rain is definitely coming. Hopefully it will not negatively impact air trans and embarkation. tonyfsu21
It’s been raining all day in Fort Lauderdale. You can tell (at least I can after 40+ years in this city) that a storm is brewing! If you are leaving tomorrow out of any FL port, you should probably plan to not sit by the pool. Sunday should be back to normal though. WAYNO
Your trip will not be ruined. Ships get rained on regularly and life goes on wonderfully.

JeffB
Current Radar top frame ...... It might be a bit wet for a Saturday June 4th boarding at 11am but by 3pm Saturday and through Sunday the 4th (bottom frame), weather looks fine with the disturbance moving well into the W. Atlantic. For reference, you'll see the Yucatan on the left edge of the screen shot, S FL in the middle and Bermuda to the right. The bottom line is that if you're sailing out of Port Everglades, you will sail.
smokeybandit
Looks like this storm will just be a rain maker and not much else. WAYNO and WAAAYTOOO 1
