We had the port side aft balcony on Radiance for Alaska this last summer.  Did not hear noise from Windjammer and not totally visible to the deck above.  It was great to have unobstructed views of everything behind us. When the dolphins were chasing the ship in the inside passage we had a full view of the openness behind us.  I will kill for the aft stateroom from now on😀

We had a corner aft starboard on Mariner last year. Deck 7. Balcony was good size. Cabin was smaller. It was different. We enjoyed it.

Just booked a Junior Suite aft port on Radiance for Alaska. Balcony is HUGE and slightly wraps around. It is under the outdoor seating of Windjammer but I’m hoping not many people eat outside in Alaska lol. I found a YouTube video of the cabin and I’m super excited. Plus several here said I scored a great cabin.

I've done 2 northbound alaska sailings out of Vancouver and one round trip Seattle.  I enjoyed all of them but recommend the one way, which means Vancouver.
Royal's northern most port is Seward, which is too often overlooked.  Plan to spend at least a day there and enjoy the national park and quaint town.

I know I am going to make some people mad, but I cruised out of Seattle this summer and after talking to locals did not tour the city.  The crime and drug use has made the city not a good place to be a tourist.  I did not see that personally, but I talked to a few people from their including the night desk person at the hotel I was staying at and all told me the same thing.  Now with that said... if you are just flying in and getting on the ship Seattle was great.  The airport is a long way from the port, but they had great transportation options.  After the cruise they have the option to take your bags from the ship the night before getting off and you do not have to see them again until you are at your home airport.  Now with that said... my next Alaska cruise will be out of Vancouver.

We are also on a B2B changing from VY to AD.  My TA said that they will not be shifting us over to AD until some time after 8-18.  They are already actively selling the second half of our AD B2B so not sure how this is going to go but Royal has a bad history of not securing the cabins from the old sailing before commencing bookings for the new sailing….so I’m a bit uncomfortable with the switch-over at the moment.

I print on regular paper and have the luggage tag holders referenced above.  I used to bring a stapler and heavy tape to attach the tags, but the tag holders make that moot.

Off topic but I managed to obtain a bottle of Pappy Van Winkle 23 through the PA LCB lottery. Merry Christmas to my hubby. Not sure that one will be opened soon. Lol

Yes.  Not a problem a bit.  In fact, they put an extension cord, a 25 footer, construction type, nasty dirty, but I didn't need it as there was a 120 plug on both sides of the bed.  And there was a one gallon bottle of distilled water for each of us, my wife and I.  NO charge at all.  Don't worry, be happy!

They will not charge you for the water.  We haven't had any trouble with getting what we need delivered to the room.  While it may not be there immediately (turn around time is short and stateroom attendants have much to do), it always was before bedtime.  If it's not there, and you see your stateroom attendant (which is highly likely), kindly ask about it.  They will have it to you asap!
    Enjoy your sailing!

We did our Alaska cruise on the Radiance ots in late August. I remember swimming in the pool. It was a warmish day but don't think the water was heated. Full discloser, from cold New Hampshire so cold water to me is waaayyy different than for someone from Florida. Flowriders will be running if outside temp is above 50 degrees.
