Ampurp85 Posted January 11 Author Report Posted January 11 To be honest my brother and I have really good energy, which is really a conduit for shenanigans. I have been told this by several Wiccans, a shaman and a yoga instructor who reads energies. But I'm more glad my feet are together. Sweety, OCSC Mike, Cactus527 and 2 others 5 Quote

I can definitely give off "I want to be left alone" vibes, lol, but not in a negative way (I don't think). I'm just in my own little bubble sometimes as I've described our cruises. No one is likely to randomly strike up a conversation with me if I'm eating alone at ELF or whatever but I'd like to think I'm friendly enough when interacting with random people. My wife gives off much friendlier energy. Cactus527, MaryS, InmyElement and 3 others 1 5 Quote

As for sailing together, still 99% sure we’ll be booking Star for March 2027, just waiting for my wife to decide which cabin she wants. I check with my TA every so often and to no one’s surprise there is plenty of interior group space available. Cactus527, Sweety, InmyElement and 3 others 5 1 Quote

Ampurp85 Posted January 12 Author Report Posted January 12 This is not a drill It's cruise day!!!!! We have express boarding. This is the bag situation, before a Lysol wipe down and dressing, we have luggage covers . There is one more bag containing my brother's laptop and such, but he packs that at the very last minute. The bag in the back is a large duffle backpack. We made it work. Sweety, OCSC Mike, Lovetocruise2002 and 8 others 2 8 1 Quote

Ampurp85 Posted January 12 Author Report Posted January 12 Currently on the flight there. It was a time. My brothers wallet fell in the Lyft. The guy returned it right at the wire and he made the plane, $200 poorer. However a later flight would have cost him almost $300. LTR, MaryS, Lovetocruise2002 and 8 others 11 Quote
Ampurp85 Posted January 12 Author Report Posted January 12 Its cruise day. They have the heat on like 90 or something on this plane and I am dying. Even my personal fan isn't helping. As stated my brother dropped his wallet so I had to pull a @asquared17 and lug 2 50lb bags, 2 35lb carry-ons, my 12lb backpack and my brother's 30lb backpack containing his work laptop........which is a beast because it has to run Autocad. The rep was super nice and allowed me to check all the bags, despite him not being with me. I had a ton of anxiety he would have to catch a later flight. So none of my airport rituals could be carried out.......usually it involves Dunkin. No time to fill water even. Which is to say I'm looking forward to Jamie's. I would say that I might even have to stop in the WJ for a snack because lunch is after noon. Since Symphony is new to both of us, I plan to take lots of photos. Baked Alaska Posted January 12 Report Posted January 12 @Ampurp85Are you normally a fly-in cruise day kinda cruiser? That makes my hands and feet sweat just thinking about it. We have our Symphony sailing on 2/9 and given the last two snow/ice storms, I'm thinking about flying in two days early rather than the one day we have scheduled now. Hello from Missouri, BTW! Yeah, if we lived close to a hub, first flight out would be a great strategy. We are minimum 3 hrs, in any direction, from a commercial airport (ST. Louis, Springfield/Branson, Little Rock, Kansas City). Enjoy Jamie's! Ampurp85 1 Quote

Ampurp85 Posted January 12 Author Report Posted January 12 My preferred airport is ORD, which were we flew from. There was more Lyft shenanigans and we didn't get to port until 10:55. I will mention later. The WJ has seafood spread of giant shrimp, lobstah, mussels, scallops and fancy fishes. My brother had to taste it......people are going bananas. Also there is an express boarding line between the suites/pinnacle and the Key. We were onboard in 14min and that's only because a family held up the express line for 6min. EMuster for us was in the gym. The spa was absolutely parched, trying to sell us services. Machines look good and so far Symphony ranks as 2 in beauty. I love the dark wood. Ampurp85 Posted January 12 Author Report Posted January 12 Jamie's is popping. It's normally not this busy on embarkation day. While we wait....... Lyft shenanigans. The guy who found my brother's wallet claimed he was missing out on a trip to Indiana and it would have been $140. My brother agreed to give him $150 if he got it to the airport in less than 30min. Which he did. Considering a new passport alone is $160+photo and a replacement driver's license is $50. He was okay with this. The guy definitely got over because the app says it's $20+tip to return lost property. He already spent more money because he thought it was at home. As stated we landed, early actually, got our luggage and was at the rideshare area by 9:29. Ordered Lyft to door 3 arrivals. Driver calls and refused to speak English and then hung up on me. Shows up at door 3 departures level 2. Waits me out, refuses to answer chat in English and gets his $3 for no show on my part. We order another, this time only departures is showing so we head up and wait. It says 4min for 25min and the app sends him to lower level arrivals. We offer to meet him, which would be quicker. He is like thats not good service. He finally gets to us at 10:33. So a whole hour has passed. He is super nice and apologetic. But he has us at terminal D and not A. We arrive at 10:52 was aboard around 11:06......46min after our original time. But also there are 6 or 7 ships in port today. NCL, 2 carnival, MSC and royal. I can report that the crispy chicken burger was actually good on Symphony, crispy and juicy. I asked for half portion of pasta and she brought full and my brother is currently trying to finish. Rooms are open and hopefully the luggage is there. Lovetocruise2002, MaryS, SweetPea and 9 others 7 3 2 Quote

Ampurp85 Posted January 12 Author Report Posted January 12 OK this room is tiny. Like since my interiors are mostly solo, I never feel it but the storage and space for this one is almost nonexistent. If so, that could be why it looks so small... it even looks small to me and you know I love my caves. I learned way too much about interiors on Wonder/Utopia and there are a few different layouts (even in the same category). I think Symphony is somewhat similar. We actually have the same exact cabin for all 3 of our Utopia B2B's and it's got the bed on the side wall (like a balcony cabin) and the small couch across from the dresser/desk in the back. I didn't mind the bed on the back wall when we had it, we just liked the other layout better. Cactus527, Sweety, Ampurp85 and 1 other 4 Quote
