Black Friday starting tomorrow-nov9?

The real question is, should I hold my breath in the hopes of the refreshment package for my next cruise going below $29,99 a day during the "black Friday" sale.

And yes I already bought it at that price. I got it for about $18.00 a day during my last cruise.

I just got the refreshment package for two cruises for 23.99 a day.  Not as good as last year, but not bad.

With the DBP now at $85.99 even with the BOGO 50% for our May sailing (Icon), I think we're going to pick up the refreshment package too this time!

I can't justify paying and extra $62 pp each day just to add the alcohol. We'll have to a-la-carte the alcohol until we hit Diamond after this next cruise! 😆

Some minor savings, like 5-8 total for a 2 person booking.

Passed on saving a dollar $1 on the Unlimkitted coster ride on Labadee.

Just not worth the effort for a dollar

Agree. I could have saved a dollar on boarding day lunch but didn't think it was worth the hassle. I'll just make sure to eat an extra dollar's worth of food on the day. 😂

I re-booked something to save $1pp, lol. When I see money lying on the sidewalk I pick it up.

TBF, it was purchased with OBC so I got an instant refund, no waiting for CC involved.

I received the email at 4:24PM eastern today.  I’m hoping for a good sale on the deluxe beverage package and maybe the ultimate dining package.  🤞🏻

It is pretty sad that prices for things I got on November 9th as part of the Black Friday 'early access' were much cheaper than actual Black Friday.  What a scam Black Friday has become.

The sale was listed as running from 11/9-11/24.

Where did it say there would be additional savings today? What is the scam exactly?

I am not asking for additional savings.  That sale starting 11/9 was listed as 'pre Black Friday early access'.  I read that as preview of things to come, but the prices during that first weekend were the lowest they have been during the whole early access when it ended on Wednesday at midnight.  Then the actual Black Friday sale starts today and the prices are higher than ever.  My point is Black Friday used to mean something, and in year's past there have been some very good deals.  One should be able to expect early access pricing is just a preview of things to come.  That is not the case, so much for the "Biggest Sale of the Year- Black Friday". But good news, they just kicked off the new "Biggest Sale of the Year- Cyber Monday".

Companies have learned to spread their "best" sales across multiple days and weeks because they can capture more customers.  There's a limit to how many things I can shop for on a single day (whether in person or online).  Thus a Black Friday sale is now a multi-week sale followed by a multi-week Cyber Monday sale.  It doesn't matter what the sale is called, just look to see if there are good deals.  That's true any day of the year.

If you're referring to sales in 2020, 2021, or even 2022, those were pandemic years and Royal was indeed offering deep discounts to keep the cash flow going.

That's not the case this year in that demand is sky high. In short, they don't need to offer a lucrative sale.

This is also a generally good reminder never to try to time a sale, or wait for a sale.
