And again the philosophical debate of the worth (or lack thereof) of the humble raisin is brought forth! I feel like they don’t detract from the apple pie experience, but don’t necessarily add much either. I’m more perturbed that the pie was supposed to be warm, but it wasn’t. FireFishII
I hate raisins in anything. I like eating them by themselves but they don't belong in pies or cookies. Now, craisins are a different beast. I love craisins in my apple pie.
Karannk
Finished escape room with 2:22 to spare. Close, but we did it! Portside BBQ food was excellent. Loved the live music! Service was great, but maybe a little excessive. They set the table with utensils/napkins for us, carried over our food, and checked on us 20x. And Allan came to visit, too. Hard to be discreet. The neighboring table was giving us the angry side eye. It was a little uncomfortable. SweetPea
We missed PSB, but Lety told us not to stand in line. We were to let her know if we decided to eat there because she had special procedures for us to follow. Now i know! Based on what you said, I'm sorta glad we didn't! I'd have been uncomfortable too! PSB was our first meal; lunch on embarkation day and we still talk about how good it was. Shane delivered the royal treatment for us too but I loved it! Lol After our underwhelming first star class experience I enjoyed every minute. Funny story…on our way to PSB hubby mentioned going to Playmakers instead but we ended up sticking with PSB. After we saw that Shane met us there and rolled out the red carpet we were all so glad we didn’t bail. Lesson learned; do not change plans without informing your genie. Back in March 2022, there was one day where we did not tell Allan that we were going to eat a PSB and we went on our own. Anyway, there was a line and we were just opening the door to get into the line and Shane came along. He literally pulled us out of the line and sat us down at a table. Then, he set the table himself for us with utensils and napkins, and then flagged down someone to take our order. We laughed because we thought Shane was just being Shane, and also because we had sailed with him before, but well, Shane is still amazing but it’s interesting to hear they have a certain protocol to follow there. OCSC Mike
Haven't been following along b/c I was focused on @Ampurp85's blog since we'll be on Allure in 6 days but you've got some great pics in there! We love Giovanni's Table and you got a couple of my favorites (meat/cheese board and filet). That's great that you got to see a night launch onboard! We can see them from our house near Disney if the sky is clear and that one was especially bright for whatever reason. We were supposed to see one from close up around 12:30pm while sitting in PC waiting to leave on Wonder in June but it was scrubbed. That was disappointing. That rooster looks like the angry one we saw on CocoCay last year on the little nature trail. He squawked his head off when we approached, lol. Thanks for sharing! There was a launch on 10-13, the day we boarded Mariner, but the view was blocked by the terminal building so we didn't get to see it. We did, however, FEEL it. The ground was shaking and it was very loud. How cool ! We can see the trails from our house once it is pretty high in altitude, but we cannot really see any of the launch activity. That’s all we see, the flame & the smoke trail. I do have some cool pics from one launch a while ago (not great quality). I forget the exact science behind it but some phenomenon involving the sun reflecting off the gas plume produced by the rocket can cause a weird jellyfish effect… Karannk, TessFromFlorida, WAAAYTOOO and 4 others 1 1

Karannk
Day 5: Nassau. We stayed onboard today. Breakfast at CK. Lunch at Johnny Rockets. The apple pie was better than Chops. No raisins to worry about for those raisin-averse folks out there. And it was actually warm, unlike the promised-but-not-delivered “served warm” pie at Chops. Then more laser tag. Followed by time in the balcony hot tub. Tonight’s dinner is at 150 Central Park. Comedy show after dinner. Since it’s 18+, our son will hang in the suite with pizza and sushi delivery. He suffers. Karannk
Dinner at 150 Central Park: This was our favorite restaurant for sure. Grand loft 8724 Well, first, Happy Birthday! That's a great present right there! 10-12 nights is my sweet/suite spot! We loved Arnhem and I'm bummed our 12 night was canceled on her during the Covid. If you don't mind (or feel free to DM me at any point) can you tell me what the incentives were for booking Star Class onboard for that length? I struggle with Next Cruise, because it seems (to me) the savings are better booking upon opening release than waiting onboard to book. I'm hoping you'll tell me I'm missing something! Before heading to Next Cruise, I placed a courtesy hold online on the suite we wanted. Just in case. Royal was running an online promotion, still is I think. We were given $300 OBC or $300 off the online fare from Next Cruise. It’s not much, but it’s something. SweetPea
Karannk
Disembarked this morning at 8:15. Currently on the way home. A few observations/opinions: - I am firmly a member of Team Deck 17. So nice to have everything right there. - Allan was wonderful. - Oasis is just so enormous. While the number of entertainment and dining options are a plus, I might prefer the more relaxed atmosphere of Anthem. - I have T1D on insulin pump and the med fridge provided for the insulin ran a bit too cold. I tested it with a Bluetooth temperature monitor for several hours, and ultimately decided to leave my vials at room temp rather than risk freezing. - The room had a few quirks. Shower in the main bedroom leaked water all over the floor requiring 2 strategically placed towels to prevent puddles. After figuring that out, we were OK. One must be careful with the screen/curtains so as not to provide a show for the folks outside on deck 16 below. Also, it was pretty chilly in the room the first 2 days until we reached warmer climate. There is no heat, so we had them deliver extra blankets. Can confirm these in the OP as well, except our shower in the main BR didn't leak, but the door doesn't latch so you have to extra vigilant. Those floors are very slippery! We also had condensation issues that came from the ceiling and puddled on the LR floor. thanks for taking us along and sharing your trip!
