happy cruisers 2
Suite passengers, I wonder if you can answer this? When the concierge sends their email just prior to the cruise, is it acceptable to ask them to arrange Aqua Theater, evening show and ice skating show reservations on preferred days/nights of the cruise? Or is this expecting too much? We don't expect special treatment above what is offered for suite guests, but don't want to wait until boarding if the concierge is willing to do this ahead of time. (I see Box Office: Show Reservations on the App and instructions for using it once onboard, but don't know if this also applies to those in suites.) Thanks for any input you might have. It's not asking too much but you can book all those shows yourself in the cruise planner or app (usually 30-60 days prior to sailing). What I would advise asking for are CK reservations if you plan to eat there some nights (which I highly recommend, unless you have the UDP or are sailing in Star Class). smokeybandit
Those are ideal things to ask a concierge for. However, if you can do it yourself in the app before that you should.

happy cruisers 2
Thanks for the DIY info, OCSC Mike and smokeybandit. We have used the app for past cruises to place events in our calendar, but have never made reservations (except for shore excursions). We will watch for that availability as each day goes by. We're close to the 30-day mark. OCSC Mike

Show reservations often appear early in the month before your cruise month... so if you're sailing in October, September 1st or thereabouts is a good target date (but you're right to just keep checking daily). Yes - we do that all the time. Easiest if you just give them a note with your "wishlist" for entertainment and dining and it can be set up when you board. You can make any corrections if necessary when you board. We put together a matrix with days and times we wish reservations. They can even reserve the late comedy show when its not published in the cruise planner. AndyPandy

And if I request a window seat, we get the same table by the window every night. This is obviously not the case if you just show up each night whenever you feel like eating - then you get whatever is open. AndyPandy
Another related point, I know concierge will help with priority “tendering” when there is tendering. My question is what about if you have a mid morning arrival in port, and everybody is up and there will be a sudden rush to get off the ship, with potential queues. Will concierge help with that? Say if there is two exits running, a “meet and escort off”.

It is possible that you can ask the concierge for assistance in getting off quickly if you have a shore excursion that meets as soon as the gangway is down but just to generally get off and explore...probably not. Say if there is two exits running, a “meet and escort off”. So, I asked this very question a few weeks ago. It seems that this may vary by ship. Last year on Oasis, this wasn't explicitly offered (and I did not ask). I just got off of Allure last week, and the Suite Concierges Nadja and MJ left a message on our room phones the night before informing us that they would expedite our departure in each port AND they went out of their way to tell everyone in Costal Kitchen and the Suite Lounge they could do this as well. They offered priority debarkation from the suite lounge beginning as soon as the ship was cleared, then every 15 minutes after that for the first 60-90 minutes in port. They used their "Magic Key" to grab an express elevator from deck 17 to the gangway, then you went straight to the security station to have your SeaPass cards scanned. It was a fantastic perk! happy cruisers 2
I'm confused about the need to tell the Concierge what shows we want and when. I was able to make reservations for shows and dates on the Cruise Planner. Is there anything else, related to shows, that I would need the Concierge to do? I can understand the help they could provide with dinner reservations and table location preference.

Makes your concierge's job one step easier. Letting them know what time your shows are booked for will help them to pan your dinner reservations around your entertainment schedule to make sure there are no conflicts. If you have been unable to make your reservations on your CP, particularly if the show you want to see is showing sold out, your concierge can help you secure a reservation. happy cruisers 2
Thanks, USCG Teacher. Good suggestions. Actually, the shows we've selected are mostly starting anywhere from 9:15 to 10:15 so we're thinking we'll ask the Concierge to get us the same dining time each evening. We had 7:00 dinner reservations each night, then the later reservations for the 3 shows we saw (Blades, AquaAria & Blue Planet). Gave us plenty of time for a leisurely dinner and to relax a little bit before the show.
happy cruisers 2
A "problem" with cruising is there's so much to do and sometimes not enough time to fit it all in !! A nice problem to have though and probably common for a lot of us! We like to have before-dinner drinks and not be rushed about getting to dinner. Then while eating, we don't like feeling rushed to get to the show. Your solution, USCG Teacher, is similar to what we'll do. On some cruises, we find ourselves getting to bed after midnight though -- kind of late at our ages! Oh well.... very excited about our upcoming cruises. Enjoy yours! This may sound boring to others, but this is one reason I enjoy going back on the same ship. I'm not a big show guy but I'll see everything once (except Broadway, just not my thing). When we go back, we don't feel obligated to see any shows again (besides comedy which changes of course) unless we decide to. I'll likely make some show reservations when we go back on Wonder just to have the option (especially if my wife tells me she wants to see something again), but it's kind of nice to have the entire night free for DL snacks, dinner, drinks, a non-show activity, more dinner somewhere else (I like to eat), etc. USCG Teacher, WAAAYTOOO and JustMeJoe

The crown loft balcony is not that large. And it's fairly narrow. If you put a dining table there, there won't be much room for anything else.
