EddieC
Hi again everyone! Just curious if tags are required for carry ons, and if so can I just check them in if I don’t need anything in the case?
wordell1
Whatever you carry on to the ship does not need the luggage tags. You can check as many bags as you want so i would definitely check anything you don't want to carry. EddieC
SpeedNoodles
It is not uncommon, however, for people to put tags on their carry-ons, just in case they accidentally leave them sitting somewhere and they walk away. WAAAYTOOO
I always tag all of my bags, including my carry-ons. 1. I have an easy way to recall which cabin I am in !! 2. If the carry-ons somehow become separated from me, the crew will know where to deliver the stray bag. tjcruisers, rjweber3, The Fox and 14 others 15 1

tjcruisers
I do just in case I get separated from it. Is it possible, well it happened on of first Royal cruise with the kids. Our oldest has health issues, so he can't carry anything on and my wife is taking care of him. We had 3 carry on's (med, oxygen, etc). I could carry two but let my youngest who might have been 10 at the time carry the third. Told him it was his responsibly. Anyhow going into the buffet he cleans his hands at the Purell machine and walks in, leaving the what I asked him to look after there. My fault, I didn't check on him. As we're finishing lunch I can't find the bag. Fortunately it was still sitting there at the Purell when we walked out. Many lessons learned at that moment. one being attaching a luggage tag to the carry ons WAAAYTOOO, rjweber3 and EddieC

AS I've grown older in cruising, this has become more and more important!! After 25+ cruises over 20+ years, the numbers are not as easy to remember as they were. Al Miller
My brother forgot and left his carry on bag in Sorrentos on embarkation day. We stopped at Sorrentos first thing. Then did our muster and ate at the WJ. Got a beer at the pub. As we were making our way to the cabin for the first time, it struck my brother that he left his carry on somewhere. He was going to go back to Sorrentos and/or guest services after we went to our room. But lo and behold, there was his carry-on on the bed. Since it had a luggage tag on it, the crew just delivered it to our room. He had a laptop, passport and some cash in there and it all arrived just fine. Really great service. JimnKathy
It's a savvy move to tag everything you carry on...no tellin' how quick those embarkation day cocktails can kick in.

Exactly why we do it. Guess I'm not as smart as I thought I was. SpeedNoodles
ScottD
I even put a tag on my wife in case I misplace her, they'll get her back to the room and I won't have to search for her. ETA: Apparently I became "Pinnacle" with this post...if only I could relay that to my actual C&A account! lol Villageidiot and Fuzzywuzzy 1
CrznTxn
At first we did not put luggage tags on our carry-ons but lately we always put them on. Haven't misplaced one yet but we are getting older.... Fuzzywuzzy
